Worked. More OT. Yay. Friday is gonna be a killer day (10hr OT, 4 extra hours, not including the 2hr commute).

Played L2 some. hunted and got the wizard halfway to L29 w/o getting killed. Not that bad soloing - so far.

Sorry Caranthir, read the other day that the creator of the Green Lantern (artist?) passed away.

Still hearing things about these merger talks/rumours... Seeing the stocks going up is nice... But do I sell or keep what I have?

Still haven't sent *ANY* christmas cards out yet. :*

DNP. That's like 6 straight days of not playing. The shakes seem to have subsided but I can't seem to stop yelling at the dog for being too selfish. I think I'm going to fall off the wagon in an extreme way today like a 12 hour marathon game of Civ 4 or something.

Worked some. Studied more. Came home, had dinner, watched American Dad and Survivor (bah, they kicked off the last hot chick). Crashed.

I've sent out...one. :* I'm not doing much better. That's a the next main thing on my list after my paper. Which still isn't done. Ran a couple errands last night and resisted the temptation of "stopping by" Walmart. Got home and made some real headway on the project. I really REALLY want to get it finished today. Doubtful, but I've got to try. My company Christmas party is today, so that's a major 3 hour chunk out of my time (and possibly even more, depending on how it goes...)

I'll stop long enough to watch BSG tonight. I'm hoping to finish it tonight, though, so I can play EQ2 tomorros. (1 page down, 10 to go. :~)

DNP, was feeling kind of off yesterday so spent the day in bed, reading, napping, surfing the web. In the afternoon when atty got home we went out to the mall. Bought atty's last present, and then went out to dinner. After dinner stopped at Target to pick up some stuff. Headed home and it was 10:30ish so surfed the boards a bit more before heading to bed.

Got home. Got a good run in, felt good. Ate dinner. Went to log into WoW and found the queue over 350 long. So instead I did a bit of house cleaning.

I'll try again tonight.

That's next county over from me. Odd it didn't make more of a splash locally and took nearly a month to percolate through the clogged tubes of the internets to the AP.

Did nothing yesterday of constructive note. Stayed awake far too late doing the above nothingness and thus missed out on the Thursday nigh Guild Wars session.

Starting trying to plan Cindy's Surprise Party in January. I went to see the room that I want to rent for the party, but it was being used by other people. So, I could look from a distance from outside. I'll try again another day.

Also, I got home, and my computer crapped my profile. It ended up creating a new profile and I ran the Anti-Virus for a long time, just in case it was a virus that did the corrupting. Nothing showed up after running it for 2 hours. I felt safe enough to pause it while playing WoW for a couple of hours. Resumed the scan while I went to bed.

WoW was not as productive as it was the other night. I'm in Winterspring, and I have a ton of quests that I am trying to make progress with. I did finish one up, but I have a lot more to do. Plus, I have a bunch of quests to talk to this person on the other side of the world type of quest. And I think I will do them when I am ready to leave Winterspring. Overall, I made good progress towards 56.

Obviously that deer had been taken as a host by some horrible alien creature that would have destroyed us all had it matured to full growth. That north country hick just saved the world!

Did half my Christmas cards last night (all the out of town people) before putting the kids to bed. Played some Dungeon Runners briefly, then played my normal Guild Wars Thursday group. Erudite and I ran a successful bonus mission and tried again at that nightmare of a timed mission, failing for like the 6th or 7th time. After that I called it a night, finished cleaning up the kitchen and went to bed.

Tonight's BSG is the "half season finale" before they take a break for the holidays.

Went caroling around my neighborhood with a crew of ~20 members of my church. Great fun. We met for cocoa and cookies prior to caroling and had some visiting time afterwards.

Then went home and wrapped a pair of gifts each for two children from a gift tree. Then tried to get a game of Literati going, but everyone seemed to be too interested to the webcam-bots in the Literati boards to worry about actually playing a game. *sigh* So went to bed.

This morning I finally was able to read Civil War #5, Astonishing X-Men, and New Avengers, but that's detailed in the off-shoot thread, courtesy of Mr. Separatist. :lowlol:

Also no Xmas cards ... and there won't be until I resurrect the computer.

Ho hum.

Too tired to play. Tried to go to bed at 9 but William wouldn't cooperate until 10. Then Victoria woke up at 3 and I couldn't get back to sleep until 4. I should just game until midnight as much as I can until I collapse. Then do it again.

Didn't play. Jen took some really great pictures of the kids to add to our Christmas cards. After we put the kids to bed we watched Firefly off iTunes. Also read more Pratchett.

Debt collectors are starting to get nasty. Last one told me I should probably hire a lawyer. Ha! Sure, like we have money for a lawyer!

Last night, we had the worst wind storm in the Seattle / Tacoma area in 15 years. Power flickered throughout evening and while I was downloading Dungeon Runners & patching. It finally gave up the ghost at about midnight.

I've been telling my niece & nephew not to get too near me as my germs would catch them. First I did the "You will catch my germs." "No, I won't catch them!" So now, it's "Watch out. They will catch you, and you'll have to go to the doctor and he will jab you with a needle." So they've been pretty good about not leaping on me when I'm laying on the couch.

Back from visiting dad. His mental state is variable, being far more coherent on some days than on others, but his physical condition continues to deteriorate mainly because of his refusal to eat and accept drips. The doctor explained that he was now at significant risk of heart attack or other complications due to his generally debilitated state and poor electrolyte balance, which they can only do a certain amount about with oral drugs. She then asked the dreadful question - do we resuscitate? Eventually I could only give the answer that I hope someone would give if I were in that state. I don't expect to sleep well tonight, though.

I'm sorry Leng. For what it's worth, I think your decision is the correct one.

Let's see. Watched The Office then channel surfed for a bit, and went to bed early. Whoohoo.

I'm so sorry, Leng!! We'll keep your dad in our thoughts and prayers. This is a particularly bad time of year to go through this kind of thing.

Our thoughts are with you, too. *hugs*

I'm sorry that you're being forced to face such a difficult decision, Len. From personal experience I know it's quite difficult, especially if the patient hasn't voiced their own opinions on it prior. My family got rather the crash course on it, which prompted pretty much everyone to make sure Final Directives are now on file.

Hey,

Len, that's hard, brother. I think that you made the right choice, as resuscitation is often as damaging to the subject as their prior condition. It seems best to let Nature take her course.

Not that Nature will, just immediately. We don't know the future. Your father may make a rebounding return and live fruitfully for a number of years. Who's to tell?

Keep your chin up (I was going to use a more colloquial saying, but, you know...).

Man, that is rough leng! I'm sorry you have to be the one to make that decision. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers! I'm sorry even more that it's happening at this time of year. It always seems to make it harder.

Oh Leng... I also hope that if ever I were in that state, the answer would be the same. Warm hugs, heartfelt wishes and comfort to you, your mon and your dad.
