Other than the farmers hurting from possible lack of moisture...
Is there hope for a white christmas?

Last night I ran errands, and they took much longer than I'd planned so I didn't get to run.
I tried to log into WoW but found the queue to be over half an hour and I just wasn't willing to sit and wait through it.
Tonight I have to make cookies, then I plan to play. If it is too late I'll play tomorrow night.

Back to work for a few days before Xmas, which is a nasty shock to the system.
Spent part of the evening restoring my misbehaving machine to more-or-less its factory configuration (those interested see my thread XP recovery redux). This morning the system was busy downloading upgrades and patches while I had breakfast. Now I can start reinstalling those apps for which I can find the install diskettes.

It was chilly, but not too terribly bad. Running around with wet hair isn't fun.
Quiet day, for a change (yay) thus went home on time. Still trying to see what days I'm getting off next week. Will get at least two weeks. Work one, off one, work and then off. Not conjuction. Oh well. Also, being close to the new year and passport rules, already have had to tell people they need to get new passports otherwise they get denied entry and or travel.
Already started seeing the new US passports, which are pretty cool looking. Will probably apply for a renewal after the new year. Don't think I'll go anywhere in Jan (had plans) but might go for sure in March. Depends on what happens overall...
Played more L2. Didn't really hunt, as much as looking for what to wear and what skills to pick up. Right now, she's wearing robes and dual-wielding swords. :D Not bad really overall from the looks - it says robes in the description, but the looks is that of a leather/chain design. Wearing the robes is more beneficial compared to light armour. The skill descriptions kind of deceptive, but had some help on some clarifications from the guild/allies... I really shouldn't have, but I did get at least one skill point in Light Armour mastery - just in case... Waste of SP? Maybe...
Did get a few christmas trees, music crystals and other items. No christmas hats yet... (L2 Christmas event)
Blood Crusades coming out in Jan eh... /hrms. Decisions decisions...
Still need to send out christmas cards... got more to do...

DNP. I bought Marvel: Ultimate Alliance in the afternoon, so I spent most of the evening playing that. Got up to the battle with Fin Fang Foom, but had a bit of trouble with it. I think I have it figured out now though.
Also watched Little Miss Sunshine and Miami Vice.

My solution to that is to log in while giving the kids a bath. When I get back, I should be logged in. Or login, and go watch TV while I'm waiting for the queue to dwindle down.

Last night, I did a lot of Christmas shopping. Also, I came home and finished up Christmas cards. And I played a little WoW until I was too tired. That was it for my Christmas fun. Oh, I also watched the American Girl - Molly movie with my girls.

Got home from work to a quiet and peaceful house. My wife and kids were at Festival of Lights (the Cincinnati Zoo decorates the whole place with Christmas lights and themes) with friends, so I had a couple of hours to myself. Ate take-out Chinese and played a little Dungeon Runners, then read some more of Black Poweder War (the 3rd Temeraire novel) in blissful silence.
Then the kids came home and it was time for baths, books and bedtimes. After that I chatted with the wife about our holiday plans, read some more of my book, and went to bed early...only to awaken at 3AM sick as a dog. Seems my furniture moving/assembling on Sunday aggrivated my hernias, causing something to twist in there and resulting in my needing to be violently ill to untwist it. Fun.

Took the afternoon off to finish shopping for Becky, then wrapped two of her gifts. Ate dinner with my parents, then met up with Becky and our nephews and went to a relatively local Christian-themed lights display (Our Lady of the Snows Shrine in Belleville, for kullen's information ). Great time. The kids enjoyed it quite a bit.
Arrived home by 11pm, and went straight to bed. Kinda scary thing about the drive home, ~15min long, is that I completely couldn't and don't remember a stretch of highway ~9 miles long. Kinda freaky, that... :eek!: I was soooo tired.
Wrapped another Becky gift this morning, then came to work.

Must have been lovely. I lived in Dayton for 6 years and never made it down for that. :D Toyed with the idea of visiting the frozen falls - name escapes me now - once or twice.

Stayed in office until 9pm - hey... it's warm in here... trying to catch up with 2nd job who asked me to assist in getting Corporate Christmas Gifts out... and I'm like... "At this time?? Well... it's going to have to be electronic certificates or gift baskets and pay express delivery." Then she changed her mind 3 times... and I gave it up at 9pm - definitely electronic certificates now.
Also arranged with friend who had power for a visit tonight to her shower & laundry machines.
Went off to a cold house. New shipment of generators have arrived at the stores. Checking them out today.

Stayed late at work. trying to get all the end of the year **** wrapped up. I was on my way home when a friend called and asked if I could take a look at her pc (!) cause it was acting screwy. So I fixed it up and started dinner. Tried logging into WoW but the queue was way too damn long and I didnt feel like waiting. Watched a bit of tv and sang Christmas songs with the kids. Low-key night.:lowcool:
I attached a pict of my kids when they went to go see Santa at the mall on Sunday. The feather boa was Celina's idea, not mine. She is a diva afterall, ya know. :D

I don't know how you do it, but my kids will not go to Santa. They will sit with Santa when they're in second grade which with Rebecca, it was the last time that she believed in Santa. :D So, we got one photo of her with Santa, and we now have one with Clarissa with Santa.

Sounds like a perfect life-saving opportunity for Jack's future occupation as zombie hunter, knowing how to operate anything with a rotating blade!

They wanted to go see Santa. I didnt force or even asked them if they wanted to go. They ask me to take them. From birth, they never cried or freaked out when it was time to go do the annual visit. Guess it just depends on the kid. I have two very extremely outgoing kids.

Kids are just different. One of my friends has a little girl, when she was younger was terrified (completely terrified) of the Disney Park characters. But she loved the rides (took her on the Teacups ride).
Another friend has a nephew who is almost eactly the same age. He loved the characters but wouldn't go near the rides.

Which brings to mind the infamous Robin WIllimas bit about taking his boy Zack to Disneyland.
