Just in time for the longest night. Party time!

Have you had any heat throughout this? What temperature did it get down to inside?

We had a wee bit of ice on the roads this morning. I played around a bit on the way out of my neighborhood, maybe 1/2 mile or so. Once on the main roads it was all melted from de-icer and the traffic. Turned into a beautiful day this afternoon though, low 30s, no breeze, clear blue skies. Went for a walk around the outside of the office in short sleeves, felt fine.

Gonna be a darn slow day tomorrow, lots of folks on the project will be out. Mostly because the project shuts down for next week. Holiday break for everyone. I'm not too pleased though, no PTO as a temp. A week without a paycheck. Harumph.

It got down to about 40/45 inside on the coldest nights. But I have a gas stove and heated fry pans to warm up the bed. ;) I had hot water too.

I'm having to scrape ice off the car in the morning but the worst thing is the fog. It's not too bad where I live but it gets thicker as you go north. Heathrow has cancelled all domestic flights and is running at 60% capacity (it normally runs at 98%). They have giant (heated) tents set up to take the overflow from the terminals.

On the home front, little of interest. I'm continiung the rebuild of my main system but extracting all the setup info from the defective drive is a pain, and finding the original install media is sometimes an insuperable challenge.

Glad to hear your power is back!

Last night I logged in and did the Holiday quests. They were fun, and I actually ended up in a nice pick up group (unusual for me) for part of it. Made some good exp (I can now see some blue in my progress bar from leveling 50). Only LoW I saw last night was Charity.

I'm not sure if I will get to play tonight or not (lots of stuff to do to get ready for Chrsitmas).

We are back from our multi-family excursion to Disney World.

We had a great time with a few unusual highlights:

1. We got to see the night time launch of the space shuttle from EPCOT. We started to get on a ride and the attendant said "If you go over there, in about 2 minutes you can see the shuttle take off from that direction." We did.. and it did. Tres' cool!

2. Space Mountain: We got on Space Mountain and it stopped when we were about half-way up the initial climb. After a few aborted restarts, they told us "Sorry, but we have to bring the lights on. When we restart, you'll have to go around with it lit."

Ahh.. don't throw me into the briar patch, Brer Fox!

It was SOOO cool riding it in the light after all these years. You get awefully near the walls sometimes, though. As the ride ended, we passed a platform with two manager types on it. As we passed, I yelled up "You guys SOOO need to dust!" :lowrazz: They laughed.

3. The great Sister Rescue: My sister fell down the steps at Mexico as her lovely daughter stopped right in front of here. My sister already had a bum knee, so she could barely walk after this. Went to first aid, got treatment and a wheelchair to use in the park. We had to leave that behind, though, when we left the park for dinner.

On the way to dinner at the Polynesian, Jennifer, the kids and I went on ahead. We couldn't find the lobby so we asked a guy in a cart. He gave us directions then asked if we wanted a ride. We suggested rescuing my sister instead. So we loaded up and off we went in search of the straggling and struggling sibling. She hadn't gotten very far. She told us later that, when she saw us coming and warbling a calvary charge, she almost started crying. I didn't think our calvary warble was that bad but .. ;)

We had a wonderful time with my sister, her husband, and the kids (girl - 8, boy - 7). I did find it funny, though, that, at the greatest theme park in the known universe .. their favorite "attraction" was.. the rain. It rained on us on Thursday and they had a BLAST!

Saturday we put them on the plane early and had the day to ourselves. Lunch at Le Cellier. Early evening showing of Cirque du Soliel - La Nouba. Late dinner at the Portobello Yacht Club. Late evening wine and .. never mind.. in the very large jetted tub in our room.

Sunday - Wednesday: Jennifer's family (Mother, Father, Brother & Family, Sister & Family) were there and we had both our Christmas celebration with them and celebrated Jennifer's parents 50th wedding anniversary. We had a GREAT time despite spending relatively little time in the parks. It was MUCH more crowded the second week, though. MUCH more crowded.

Wednesday, we drove straight home from Disney to North Carolina.
Thursday, we attacked laundry and other unpacking activities and tried to get the house ready for a new influx of family this weekend.

Jennifer is back at work today. I am home getting to continue cleaning.

woot.

Sounds like a very wonderful time Sagar! Congrats and woo! /envy

Busy day at work due to low vis again (fog) and rain. Five cancelled flights. "you ruined my holiday! Put me on another airline." Uh, NOT! Especially when the other airlines try to send some of their folks to us, going to the same destination. This is holiday travel season, esp for those going to mexico (some flights not avail until after christmas which is typical) flights are full. Added to that, the weather conditions. More OT, got home late (urg!). So glad got two days off. Was wanting to sleep in, but um... as you can see...

Played some L2 when I got home after checking emails and forums and some various news sites on a few things...

Still foggy...

Glad to hear you got power back, Sylv.

DNP. Worked/studied in the morning. Went to another interview. I wasn't expecting much out if it and that's about what I got. Went to a friends' place and hung out the rest of the day. Drove home, had dinner, watched old Scrubs, went to bed.

Um, I can't remember much about last night. I wrapped a few gifts, played a bit of Super Collapse and the kids and I painted some ornaments. That's about it. Tonight is a wrap fest. Probably watching some Stargate while we do.

DNP. Spent the evening assembling my stuff for my trip tonight. Other than that, didn't do much.

I got to work this morning to find out that a friend had had a heart attack out in our Assembly area. They rushed him to the hospital in an ambulance, but we don't know how he's doing. Needless to say there's not a lot of work getting done at the moment.

Played some WoW, finished all the Winterspring quests that I could. I got very close to getting 58. 2 Bubbles to go. Tonight will be more pushing to get Charity to 60. :D

I am the greatest Christmas Shopper in the Universe.

14 people, 2 malls, 5 stores after that and three hours. DONE!

Last night I went to see Rocky Balboa with my brother. I'm a fan of the movies, so take this with that in mind, but I really enjoyed it. It's not a great movie, it's an enjoyable one.

Yeah my sister is worried about her flight back to the US. She is coming back for a few days for a friend's wedding next week and is hoping that the fog lifts so her flight isn't canceled (she transfers planes in Paris which is a short flight and they are being canceled at the moment).

On the general font, we went out last night because we had some stuff we needed to get, just general household stuff. Target wasn't actually too bad, which was nice. We then went out to dinner before heading home. Played on the Xbox 360 some, but wasn't really in the mood for anything online on the computer. Read a bit and headed to bed.

This weekend will be busy, we're replacing a sink, cleaning up the living room some and wrapping gifts for Monday.

Hooray for the return of the power Sylvene! Go to the light!

Awesome trip Sagar!

Asharad - Man Shopping rulez! It's all about surgical strikes and mission objectives.

Best wishes for the recovery of your friend Caranthir.

My night was uneventful. Stopped at Best Buy to buy myself a Christmas present, Medieval Total War 2 for $19.99. Got home, took care of kids, then played Guild Wars with Eurdite and Gravenstone. Got to bed kind of late as I wasn't sleepy post-gaming then got caught up in the Temeraire novel and didn't realize it was post-midnight.

Fog looks to be lifting tomorrow, at least as far north as Heathrow. BAA (airport authority) have announced domestic/short haul flights will resume noon tomorrow.
