View Full Version : Your 2007 resolutions
Greebo

Here's a place to give us your resolutions for 2007:
I'll start.
1) Reduce my revolving debt by at least 30%.
2) Reduce my revolving weight by at least 30 pounds.
3) Post regular updates on my progress of the previous 2 resolutions.

1. Breath good quality air.
2. Drink water, daily preferably.
3. Eat food when I feel hungry.
I don't believe in resolutions because it's another source of not feeling good about yourself. Keeping negativity to a minimum is a good thing! :D

1. Lose at least 15 pounds.
2. Become more organized, both at home and work.
3. Exercise more.

I don't have many. Mainly, I'm looking at 3:
Get back to drinking water. Even the carbonated flavored kind is better than none and I haven't been drinking those.
Get back to losing weight. (I've started, but haven't gotten far.) This includes watching what I eat AND getting some form of exercise. I'm still seriously considering the Wii for helping me with this.
Better organize my life. I get way overwhelmed too easily with school work and everything else. Even with Rubi's help I end up just fried and can't even enjoy playing.

Oh, I almost forgot.
4. Have more sex to help me lose weight! =)

New Year's resolutions? No thanks. I've taken to just doing what I can, when I can.
Besides, every day is the start of a new year. Just not the start of a new calendar year.

I'll join the lose weight group ...
1. Lose more weight than Greebo
2. Exercise more (not difficult as I barely exercise at all)
3. Eat healthier food
4. Reduce further my dependence on Windoze

What the hell kind of year is it then? You've gotta be living the longest days ever. Man, I envy your productivity. :lowrazz:
No resolutions for me. I never keep em so why bother.

Heh.
I dunno, I've never been too keen about the 'new year', especially new year's eve/day. Its just another day.
Maybe its the ancient in me, but I find the solstice dates far more worthy of celebration than the next calendar year.
Maybe I'll have to start asking for the first of every month off work as a holiday. It would be New Month Day, ya know. :evileye:

I resolved not to make New Year resolutions.

I tried asking for Monday off each week as a holiday. New Week day...the boss didn't get it.
I'm not one for doing resolutions either. I'll have to think about it...

You guys are lucky. You guys have people for bosses. I've got a mom for a teacher, a principal, a nurse, and anything else in a school, so I can't get away with anything. As for the resolutions,
Get this guy Daniel to ask me out.
Write more fanfiction.
Finally finish my room.
Kill my ex.I doubt I'll be able to keep #4, but it's worth a shot.:lowrazz:

#1. Most guys are pretty clueless about these kinda things. So unless you are looking at this as a challenge... MUCH easier to just ask HIM out.
#2. Why? Although I've done alot of it, I've never looked at wanting to write more fanfiction and view the ones I've done as "practice." It's a greater challenge to write fiction and build your own world. (Listen to me preach! /LOL Don't I sound all sanctimonious?)
#3. More power to ya!
#4. Shooting tends to be loud and messy. Try something more silent and elegant. :lowlol:

I'm not gonna bother with shooting him, I'll take a knife, sneak into his house, and cut off a few choice body parts. I'll do that until all he has left attached to his torso is his head. Oh, and I'll make itty-bitty little cuts all over his body, then cover him in lemon juice.

Yes. yes, I do. I like to cause him pain. I was not the nicest girlfriend in the world. I was downright mean to the guy. But he was an arse. I got rid of him, and I still torture him to this day.

For 2007, my revised resolution is to lose more weight than Leng! :mad!::mad!::mad!:

You really wanna get to him? No, really, you want to really really frustrate him if he still insists on trying to bug you?
Ignore him. Be the ice queen. If you don't know how to do that yet, ask Andrea, but trust me - its genetic. You're the girl - you can turn his attempts to bother you into his own worst nightmare and never break a sweat.

Oh is THAT what's going on? Hon. Ignore him. Completely. Do not even acknowledge him. First of all, give yourself the satisfaction of giving him "the cut direct" (fancy Victorian language) - when he next bugs you. Raise an eyebrow, lift your nose and give him the sort of look you'd give a slug crawling on the road. Complete disinterest.
From then on, do not even acknowledge his existence on the face of the earth.
*nods*
Dirty looks will only encourage him. He sounds like he thrives on getting a reaction from you.

Look, don't ask me why or how, but I *know* teenage girls. If you really didn't like him, you'd do what all girls save about four have done to me my whole life - barely recognize his existance. Jess if he succeeds in making you so mad that you're afraid you can't ignore him and be the ice queen, then you walk away. You get up, and you leave, and you don't look at him or acknowledge him to even give him the time of day.
When you get home, or alone, you can be mad and angry and scream at the walls, but the key is you DO NOT LET HIM SEE that he's getting to you. He is a guy, and therefore he is looking for a reaction. He's trying to get to you because he's still interested in you. If he wasn't, he wouldn't care. But he does *not* deserve you and he does not deserve the satisfaction of getting under your skin.
You're better than that, and you can control the situation to your advantage. Every woman can with a guy who is interested in her - like I said, its genetic. :)

And when did the resolution thread become the "Give jabby Advice about her ex" thread? I'll try the advice about him, but I doubt it 'll work. The male gender is a bunch of morons(guild and some of my family excluded). Including Danial. He's cute but totally oblivious. I even kissed him and he still is comepletely oblivious to my feelings(don't ask me how). As for the ex, he's dumb, literally. I told him to go procreate with himself, and stood there with this idiotic look on his face. The guy's a moron! I'm so glad I dumpped him.

Try, and I know being a teenager that this is difficult for you, but TRY to accept just this one time that the adults you associate with might, maybe, JUST MAYBE, know a little more about the way the world and the people in it work.
If you listen to Sylvene and Andrea and do what they tell you, trust me, in a years time you WILL have men of all ages eating out of the palm of your hand.

Not really sure about resolutions... It never really sticks with me.
One thing I will try and do, food wise, is eat more salads. I primarily eat more meat than I do the veggie stuff (although not quite sure how to categorize tofu since I like to lump it with meat 'cos of the protein). If I'm lucky, I usually eat a "real" salad maybe once a month. Gonna try and up that to once a week. Had a nice one from starbucks last weekend (lettuce, walnuts, cranberry, blue cheese, carrots, raspberry vinegrette). When I got home with it, I added some turkey in it and it was pretty good. Walnuts makes the difference too. I will probably do that if I can.
Another, is to either lessen my spending habits and try to budget myself. pare down some debts (was basically debt free, oops). Put more into savings (and not company stock) and up the 401(k) a percent or two.
Get out of the state more often (or apartment). travel. Miss those museums and exhibits...
Cut out some gamings, narrow the games down.
Some folks at work were trying to get me hooked up. It's not really working, or I need to get hit with a clue bat in to what's going on. I don't get it, apparently.
Work on my health. Gained some weight, which isn't really a cause for alarm (well, sorta - depending on one's point of view). But it's my eating habits I guess. Lots of salt, sugar, fried foods. And I still never had a physical check up... since HS. (ooops). Just not really keen on doctors, or dentists for that matter. Optical docs are good. :)
I walk a lot, but need to do some other forms of exercising... Soft abs... hrmm... Weak arms (well, lifting pints, pens and the occasional bags dont count right?).
/me wonders what else that is realistic.
Oh yeah, clean up the damned apartment! :D Need to start weeding out some books and DVDs. Definitely computer magazines (although not sure on some of the FHM/Maxim ones) and the Nat-Geo/travel magazines. And the occasional Sports Illustrated en espanol. I'm still stuck on some spanish mailing lists.

Only one commitment this year - Become a better servant of God.
The subresolutions that come from that include (but are definitely not limited to) putting Becky first in all things (a continuation of my annual resolution), losing weight, becoming more organized, deciding what God wants me to do jobwise for the rest of my life, going back to school for that decision, making more time for my friends, and doing more in the community.
I figure that, at least, is a good start. :lowlol: :goodie!:
