... my last payment for outstanding debt on a credit card. A final $103.07.
I've been messing about with this card for well over a year now, a balance of $500 to over $750. Yeah, not much, but the increases were all from late fees and non-payments. I haven't been able to use the card for a couple years. But with a bit of extra money now, have paid it down, and going in the mail today will be the last payment.
Can't say that I'm debt free, as I still have plenty of stuff out there in student loans (~$30k) that I'm trying to get current and straightened out (which is a royal PITA). But, at least no more credit card debt. And since I started the job up here I've been doing good about setting aside a fixed percentage of my gross income (10%, for now) to savings, and moving that to an IRA every couple months. Just to show my true priorities though, I've got another 10-15% going to a 'new bike' fund.
I'm hoping that by late spring my credit will have rebounded at least enough that I might be able to get a car loan for ~$5k or so. That'd be nice. And I'm already setting aside a bit each month to get used to paying off that loan.
