For the record, I just got my Myrmidon (gallente BC).
This is the loadout:
Hi :
6x 200mm Compressed Coil Gun 1
Med :
10Mb AB,
'Langour' Drive Disruptor (webifier)
Fleeting Warp Scrambler (long range scrambler)
Supplimental Scanning CPU (target range/speed enhancer)
Cap Recharger 1
Lo:
Med Armor Repairer 1
2x Thermic Hardener
1x Kinetic Hardener
1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer (hybrid gun speed/damage enhancement)
Drones:
5xOgre 1 heavy drones.
I have one lo slot left, probably for another MFS.
This is designed for 0.0 rats. For PvP the guns may go for Nos's and energy disruptors, and the MFS's for something more appropriate
This is about the best I can do with current skill levels - I am hard on the CP limit and close to the grid. Additional skills will ease this and allow a few tech II devices.

Awesome Leng. Congrats. The Myrmidon is one nasty ship.

Not from the inside, it isn't:twisted:

I've got the BC skill book, would only take an hour or two to learn it... I think I have all the prereqs, but I haven't accumulated anywhere NEAR enough ISK to even contemplate buying a BC... they are not cheap.

Slow down, leng. I'm still flying the newb ship. :lowlol:

I'd really like to get into a Ferox, but they are somewhere around 40M ISK if memory serves. Plus I'm not sure what I'd do with it. I don't belong to a corp yet, and haven't ventured anywhere NEAR low-sec space.

Base price of the Ferox is 24million. I made the bulk of my money mining omber in 0.5. Omber refines to Isogen, which sells quite well - in fact, it is more profitable than mining jaspet in low-sec ... I'd need to go down to about 0.2 to make more. Mind, this is in Gallente space - ore availability varies.
You really don't need a battlecruiser in hi-sec space, at least not until you start doing T3 missions, but I want to move down to 0.0 and I need something capable of tanking the NPCs there - and they fly battlecruisers and battleships. I needed to get the thing so I could sort out the skills I needed to fly it efficiently before I came across something big and hostile.
I mined most of the minerals needed to build the ship and just sold isogen to pay for those I could not mine. As a result, I got the thing for about 6-7 million cash. Of course, you then need to fit it out which is a few more million using basic tech 1 kit. If you start using tech 2 you can double the price of the hull (which for a Myrmidon is about 34 million).
Gael - For missions up to T2 a cruiser is sufficient. A cruiser or a destroyer will do T1. Gallante cruiser that is - with drones - it might be painful to do T1 in some cruisers 'cause of targeting small ships with big guns.
Eric - the post-tutorial mission chain should give you a better ship.

If you've fitted this out for 0.0 ratting, then why the webifier and warp scrambler? If the answer is what I think it is (unintentional PvP), then you might want to fill that last low slot with a warp stabilizer. Only one may not allow you to get away from some pirate who jumps in and scrambles you, but it's proven better than none. :lowrazz:
About to finish BC3 myself, which should allow me to fit out any of the Caldari BCs and finally run some level 3 missions.

You are quite right about those mods Zoldan.
To be honest, the scrambler and webifier were laying around in my hangar and I had a couple of empty mid slots. It did occur to me that they might prove useful in PvP, but I had in mind more the "all hands to the pump" call when a multi-ship scrum develops than one-on-one PvP. I am more or less resigned to the idea that anyone who jumps me unexpectedly will have more than enough ship to finish me off no matter what I equip in the way of T1 modules (there are some well equipped Ronin who have a habit of arriving uninvited). I've recently looted an "invulnerability field" (+25% to all resistances) which I think will be more useful for ratting than the scrambler so that just leaves the webifier slot up for grabs when I find something else useful. Depending on experience, maybe another cap recharger (if the power grid will take it).

Yeah, like my invuln field. Nice to have fitted when I don't know for sure what damage types I'll be coming up against, although doesn't really help vs. hybrid/projectile ammo. If you intend to do some shield tanking, I'd suggest a large shield extender to replace the web, although having the web might be nice vs. a single pirate, especially one much faster than you.

Gallente designs tend to favour armour tanking rather than shield, hence the hardeners in the lower slots. The toss up is whether to put a repper or another tracking enhancer in the last low slot.

If you're armor tanking, I think you may want some armor add-on for the last low slot, and anything that helps armor regen or starting armor number in place of the web, if you remove it. Dunno what would be the best mods to look into, since I don't armor tank.
