Shards

I've got a recipe that needs a ruby shard.

I've got a ruby, but apparently they are different and that you can't get a ruby shard from a ruby (as that would make sense). is this correct?

I don't NEED to make the armor from this recipe, I was just going to do it if I already had the rare piece.

Shards are rare drops, and fairly expensive off the AH. I managed to snag 10 for about 250sp awhile back, and used four to make myself some armor. I can easily send you one or two if you want to make your single use recipies. They seem to have gotten more expensive, as I looked the other night and 10 ruby shards were running 500gp on average.

I'm not selling my shards for anything, as I may end up using a couple more down the road. I'm not adverse to giving a couple away though if someone wants to craft themsevles an upgrade.

Rubi may also have some shards of various levels. My single use weapons that I can make (bows, hammers, staves, etc) require shards, but I tend to look for them one at a time as needed.
