Dig that bastard out then, Brun.
Also, I am (once again) collecting my throwables. That's going to be a standard after action deal for me.

Peering into the hole, you see a glint of silver about an arms length into the hole.
Searching through the rest of the room, you find a moldering old tome and a small locked chest that is in surprisingly good shape.
Trask does a health check on Fandango and (13+9 vs DC 16) realizes that the rogue has contracted rogue fever. If left unchecked, the rogue will grow gradually weaker and eventually lose all healing abilities. With some rest and help, though, he might pull through quickly.

You find all but one of the shuriken.

I'll poke a stick into the hole. if nothing horrible happens to the stick I'll reach into the hole and grab the silver thing.
Might as well wait to heal me all up until I lose a couple of fingers. I assume my comrades in arms will huddle around me to help out.
Also, I will use my perception on the chest to look for traps and suggest everyone else do the same. Then I'll use theivery to remove any traps and open the lock. (+9 on those last things)

Is there anything I can do to help Fandango? Does my health check help his endurance rolls against the disease?
I will also examine the chest and tome carefully, but the odds of a rat trapping a chest seems small to me.

hehe..well it doesn't seem likely to me that the rats put any of their belongings in a chest. I'm more worried about who the chest belonged to before the rats.

Baladir readies his bastard sword to cleave off Fandango's arm if anything grabs onto it. ;) j/k
Yeah, I assume the trap would've been placed there before the rats got a hold of it too.

If this chest is full of cheese I'm going to be embarrassed.

You can't find a stick, but Baladir wasn't using that old longsword anymore anyway. Besides, he probably won't even notice its missing.
Nothing attacks the longsword. You reach your arm in and pull out two silver.. objects. They are dirty, but very ornate with runes and sigils carved all over them. They kind of look like small cups.
Checking the chest, you detect no traps. Your attempt to pick the lock, while challenging (11+9 vs DC 20), is ultimately successful.
So... who is going to open the chest?
And where will the rest of you be standing when that happens?

Trask examines the tome. It was once a nicely bound leather tome with gold inlays and extravagent tooling.
Now it is a moldering remnant cover in rat dung. Studying what remains, you realize it was a tome of rituals. Only one ritual remains intact enough to be useful and that one is Water Walking (lvl 2).
As for the disease, if you tend to Fandango during the upcoming extended rest, he can add your heal to his roll to see how the disease progresses. If he roll less than 16, the disease will get worse. If 21 or greater, he will get better (and, in this case, recover completely).

Brun never avoids volunteering for something dangerous.

I would like to roll a saving throw against paranoia producing GM questions please. :rotflmao:

I already opened something. Fandango's turn!
/ooc do I "scribe" the ritual or just keep the book with my belongings? I don't have my PHB.

Someone make a HIstory check on the silver. Can Fandango guesstimate value?

I also have a +7 in Healing. I'll take a look at the "Rogue disease". It might make him a better rogue?? :D

I think Amaril is our historian.
