We used one Cure Disease.
Edited. Did I miss anything? I went through the threads since we entered the house. We haven't really inventoried properly Sanbalet's room or the Alchemist's room yet, either, I think.

Shiz

Just so it is recorded:

Hold Person
Range 10
Attack: Wisdom vs Will
One creature is dazed for 2 rounds + wis modifier.
Miss: Creature is dazed for 1 round.

So, sell all the cloth and 10 casks of brandy to get the house to un-leaky status and buy a wagon, ladder, etc?

DinbinFanfoom
16th October 2008, 11:47 AM
Feel free to recalc, but by my list, we have about 2192g 45s 7c just in loot from that list (every thing with a "value") listed.

Keep in mind "what it's worth" and "what you can get for it" may be two different things.

Understood.

The weasel pelt will be worth about 200g.

The "scrolls" of water walking, etc, are all in one book.

Lycos
16th October 2008, 12:56 PM
We may want to keep the boat if we want to go after the smugglers that visit this place in the ship.

Shiz
16th October 2008, 03:00 PM
Can ritual books be re-used? Our does the text vanish like old D&D scrolls?

Sagar
16th October 2008, 04:39 PM
You cast the spell out of the book afaik. It doesn't disappear on use.
Copying a ritual, though, can be expensive.

Shiz
16th October 2008, 05:06 PM
I thought I had to study the ritual for 8 hours to be able to cast it at all. Whether or not after that 8 hours study it was committed to memory or not is unclear.

Sagar
16th October 2008, 05:34 PM
You need to study it for 8 hours to learn / master it. That is, to completely understand it. Rituals are too complex to memorize. You must have the book to cast it.

So.. to cast, you need a written ritual + understanding of said ritual.

You automatically gain mastery of a ritual if you copy it to your own ritual book.

Shiz
16th October 2008, 05:43 PM
Ahh! So I can give Solak the ritual book that has just Water Walking in it that I fouind in the Malacon place and then keep the book with the four in it.

But I won't be able to cast any until I study for 8 hours each?

Sagar
16th October 2008, 11:06 PM
That is correct.

Shiz
17th October 2008, 09:27 AM
Ok consdier that done then.

Sagar
17th October 2008, 09:31 AM
Note: I was thinking about this this morning and the ritual books you guys found are in BAD shape. You should probably re-copy the rituals into your own books before the old books completely disintegrate.

Shiz
17th October 2008, 12:51 PM
Ok. I definitely need several days to dedicate to this.

Lycos
17th October 2008, 01:25 PM
Go to it. We can fast forward those days.

Aananla
17th October 2008, 01:48 PM
You guys now have a house. Why not commandeer the ship when it returns?

Shiz
17th October 2008, 01:56 PM
I am no sailor and how do you conquer a ship with an 8-man sailboat? If the Baron successfully capotures them, we get a reward and more renown anyway.

Asharad
17th October 2008, 01:58 PM
Well, I mean, it's doable.

We have inside information as to how the whole thing works.

The ship parks out in the bay (orwhatever body of water our house is on). Thye light a lamp and we signal back. Then we row out to the bigger ship to get cargo.

That's apparently how it has worked thus far.

We'd just ride out in the boat and take it over, I guess.

Lycos
17th October 2008, 02:07 PM
It would have to be very covert. Because I'm sure like the lair here, if they smell foul, we'll have 12 people on top of us in a second. We'd have to take a few of them out at a time and then we'd eventually end up with the lot of them coming after us. But I assume that we would more smugglers willing to give up rather than die as well.

Once you have the ship, you get some people from town to help for a fee or talk the remaining smugglers into getting the ship to shore.

Shiz
17th October 2008, 02:37 PM
You guys assume that anyone from the boat comes ashore. You also assume that Sanbalet will not contact them about the house's new situation. The boat might not even show up.

Asharad
17th October 2008, 02:58 PM
yeah, I doubt the boat will arrive.

I'm just saying how, if it did, we could get on.

I'm not even saying that getting on is a good idea.

I feel like we've done pretty well here.

Lycos
17th October 2008, 03:04 PM
I'm just saying that we should hold off selling the boat unless we determine that we aren't going to do anything about it.

Asharad
17th October 2008, 03:24 PM
I agree. No reason to sell the boat.

Sagar
17th October 2008, 03:26 PM
Hey, you got a house with water access. Why not keep a boat.

Who knows when you will want to enter or exit quietly... :p

Lycos
17th October 2008, 03:27 PM
But we need a bat boat. :D We got the bat cave.

Sagar
22nd October 2008, 09:50 AM
I still need a list of what you plan to sell so I can give you a GP total.

Also, Trask.. it costs 50gp to scribe each lvl 1 ritual and 75 or 100g for the level 2. The prices are in the PHB. It's the "purchase" price of the ritual.

Shiz

I'll have Alfred work on the list this time, but frankly, with all the othe stuff I have to track (combat, characters, NPCs, dungeons, time, who loves you, who hates you, who-hates-you-but-hasn't-met-you-yet, etc) I really need you guys to track your own treasure and finances.

I count 2867g in sales in addition to the cash you found. I still need to look up the value for the weapons (unless someone can post it).

A large portion of the cash will not be available to you until Scorpio travels to Diert and back (assume 5 days). He takes a percentage (already figured in to the values above) for acting as your sales agent. His percentage is very low, though.

I will keep track going forward, Sagar. For now, let's use the alchemist's room as our treasure room. We can keep the skeleton door barred and and scarily marked.

2,700gp rounding up for the weapons
(750) initial housing supplies
(275) ritual scribing costs
1,675gp

This is before what we all have on our person in the character sheets.

Should I amend all the character sheets so that each of us is carrying a couple hundred gold and whatever other gems or trinkets we want to keep as is?

Sagar, can I exchange freely into other denominations in Saltmarch?

Shiz
24th October 2008, 09:57 AM
From the character sheets:

Amaril 22g
Baladir 73g, candle snuffers
Brun 261g, orc nose ring
Fandango 74g, emerald (gone now)
Trask 41g, moonstone

Candle snuffers go in the loot room. I am going to round everyone up to 250g if they don't have that yet so that takes 790g out of the pot.

Loot room:

810g in coins
old candle snuffers
Chunk of crystal, worthless
Ritual book, worn: Water walking
Ritual book, worn: Water Walking, Traveller's Feast, Make Whole, Magic Mouth
1 case of brandy with one bottle missing
Sanbalet's coded paper

Trask will arrange all this neatly on the alchemist's table after giving the room a good cleaning.

Scorpio is a money changer, but he is currently out of town. His assistant can sell stuff, but not do major money transactions.

I will assume that Ash had 250g on him.
Since he had the stone for such a short period of time, removing it was not TOO difficult and it only took 250g in components.

The old man spends about 45 minutes studying the stone and setting up materials on his altar. He places the stone on the altar with Asharad on the other side. After annointing Ash's hands with a specially prepared ointment, the old man lights some tapers, sprinkles incense and ground gemstone over the stone, and begins to chant.

After a few moments, the stone begins to glow. A stream of sickly orange light forms around Asharad and begins to flow into the stone. The stone gets brighter and brighter and, as the last of the sickly light flows out of Ash, the stone explodes in a deafening lack of sound.

When Ash's eyes recover from the glare, he sees the old man heading back to the nets and the stone is completely gone.
