WotC finally released a beta version of their Character Creator program for Windows (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/insider/characterbuilder) (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/insider/characterbuilder%29). I gave it a try. Unfortunately, it won't work for this campaign since it doesn't allow Ability scores like the ones we have. Also, as of now, it only goes up to level 3.
It does allow races of all the playable monsters and the three new classes they've released - swordmage, artificer, and barbarian.
One nice thing you get are your powers on little cards when you print your character out. Would be useful during a real tabletop game.

As far as I can tell you can't convert the character sheets into PDF or anything useful for play-by-post but, again, for tabletop games it looks pretty cool.
