Woo hoo! got to do another 40 minutes on the eliptical. I am finding it easier to do the longer session with the lower resistance. I hope I keep it up this time!
I commend those of you who can "just do it" I am a bit envious.

Isn't elliptical nice? Such low stress on the joints compared to other things, and yet you feel so...exercised afterwards. I've used some that have had funny placement for the pedals though. They were too far apart, made me feel like I was running with my feet spread apart.
I got in a nice long run today. 70 minutes at a HR of 155 or so. My running buddy said she thought it was 4 or 5, but I'm thinking more like 6 or 7 miles if it was that long of a run. We managed a 10.4 mile run last week in 1hr50min. And we were going much slower on the last 2 miles. I still need to work on strengthening the knees and ankles. I can feel the impacts with every step in a run that long.

I've been taught that when you see the wear and tear on the soles of your shoes it means the structural support of the shoe is already broken down. How often do you replace your shoes?

I would replace them about every 6 months (I'm not a heavy runner), but these are older. Only in age though. The current shoes I have have another few months of life. I barely used them in the summer and fall of last year. They have only recently gotten more use. There was a good 5 year stretch of my life when I was not working out much. As in 'ever'. Haha.
I tend to feel my knees and ankles more toward the end of a run. But I feel residual pain less and less every run, so I know I'm getting back into it. I got another 4 miles in today actually, and I felt great the rest of the day.
