Since it appears this group will happen (wow, faster responses than I expected!)...

The Character Creation Thread. (will not be stickied - this is for initial setup, another thread will track stats/powers)

All official races/classes/powers allowed. If I can find it in the DnD insider compendium, you can use it.

Character creation methods allowed:
Standard Array
Pick 22
Greebo Rolls for you (I give you 3 sets of rolls (4d6, best 3, 6 times). You pick the rolls to use. If you hate the rolls, you may revert back to Standard or Pick 22)

The backstory may be as complex or light weight as you prefer. The Role play aspects will kick in as a part of the overall adventure. I'll leave it to the group to determine if they wish to come up with a history as to how they came to be together. I will not attempt the fallacy of trying to make you all role play introductions as total strangers... ;)

I will tell you that this adventure, as impressive as it has been for me to read so far, does, quite creatively, start with the "You are all in the local tavern..." scenario. But believe it or not, this time it isn't cliche! ;)

Wishlists
When you submit your characters for review (yes, they must be approved!) - or shortly thereafter - please submit a "Wishlist". The wishlist should consist of your choice of 4 items, one each from item levels 2 - 5. These should be included in the skills and stats tracker thread.

These wishlists will be used to help custom tailor the adventures to help ensure that the rewards you get are things you desire. Sometimes. Maybe. ;)

I don't know, but if we don't have a Perc character I will try and work that in somehow, although both my current characters used Skill feats to good effect I don't want to do that again.

A note on wish lists. Give them serious thought. Four treasures will be decided specifically from the wishlist in this adventure.

I'll tell you now - the Battle Rager Vigor Build (FR book I think) is insanely over powered. The giving of temp hps *every* *time* *you* *get* *hit* is ludicrous.

If you choose that power, it will be modified in my campaign - the benefit from BRV will apply only once per *round*, not on every attack.

Warden, Swordmage, Paladin also fun Defenders. I was going to multi-class a two-handed sword wielding Paladin with Barbarian!

Goliaths are pretty awesome for defender types.

It is mostly a list of feats and powers which are in the Builder.

What the BRV gives up to get his temp HPs is the +1 to hit that regular fighters get when they choose one-handed or two-handed fighting style (referred to on the forums as FWT for Fighter Weapon Talent). It is just that a high CON makes the temp HPs insane.

1st level BRV with 25hps and a 16 CON (+3) is surrounded:

A hits for 6
BRV 19+3thp
B hits for 6
BRV 16+3
C hits for 6
BRV 13+3

That is some insane mitigation. What if he is a 19 CON dwarf, going to 20 at level 4? Heroic at-wills are just 1 dice. He basically mitigates all three attacks.

The DM could counter with a lot of ranged attacks, but then they get shredded by the strikers.

Oh, if you are using the character creator, the "Scales of War" backgrounds are also ok (this *is* the Scales of War campaign, after all), and if you want to review those and change/choose one, do so before we start.

I looked through stuff last night, and mostly i'm coming up with ring of protection, sword of frost. nothing really strikes my fancy offhand, but i'll try and get another look tonight
