What worked, what didn't, what did you like, what did you hate?

Suggestions, comments, and requests?

I thought the first 2 skill challenges went rather well. The third, however, I wasn't quite so keen on. Might just be cause I was all set for this random encounter if you failed and you blasted through it like nobody's business.

I was fairly frustrated with one thing though - after the 3rd challenge - the party just ... stopped. I'm not sure what can be done to keep things moving when you're at a decision point like that.

I don't want to push you down any particular path (choo choo!), but I am thinking that extended periods of standing around with the thumbs up the donkey will result in time elapsing and potential consequences (monster preparedness, for example). Not *in* combat, of course - but outside of encounters...

Perhaps the group needs to establish a caller and a secondary caller who will be able to decide what the party is doing? Because there are going to be places where you have to decide which way to go, whether you want to explore first or go right in, etc., and if you all wait for everyone to chime in to reach consensus, you're going to find the progress to be halting and erratic.

Of course, if you all are good with that, no problem! I'd like to keep things moving along, but if my pace is faster than the group can handle, I'll cope and we'll just deal with stalled time.

yesterday was a busy day for people it seemed like. That may have been the stall point

And we don't have that good a feel for each other's characters yet. So we don't have standard marching orders set and stuff like that.

Trying to decide that for the first time while really busy... ya just kinda leave it for later.

Agreed and agreed, as we've discussed.

In this format though, that's something your going to have to sometime deal with, i think. We're not all just sitting around a table, so real life intrudes.

I don't think that's particuarly fair. Again, if we were sitting around a table, we'd have a quick discussion, settle on a marching order and head in. Sometimes though, in this format, people just aren't at the computer, or just have two seconds, or whatever. I don't think you can start slapping on penalties for real life. It is sometimes frustrating, but that's just how it goes, I think.

Sure, I get that - but at the same point, it was 1:30 on the 15th when you all started talking about what to do next, and 7:30 on the 16th when a decision was made. That's the kind of extended lag I'm hoping to avoid if possible.

To be fair, I was on my computer for maybe 2 hours of that 30-hour period other than when I was busy. And most of that was in the first few hours of the window.

some of us have jobs ;)

All right - forget I mentioned it...for now at least.

I just would hate to see the party get bogged down in "waiting for someone else to make up our minds" syndrome. That's kinda what yesterday felt like from this side of the "screen".

I can understand that feeling. but on my side, it was really busy.
