Please don't roll 1d20 for this type of attack and another 1d20 for that type of attack if you cannot do both types of attacks in your turn. If you post a choice of actions that are conditional - ie: if this, I do that, otherwise I do the other thing, then roll for "that" and "The other thing" as the SAME roll please. If multiple targets are affected, of course, you need to roll for each target, but again, only once please.
Exception: If you spend an action point or otherwise can legitimately roll vs an enemy multiple times, then do so, by all means.
What I don't want to see is something like:
- If I can get a clear shot I'll do an area blast against all 3 mobs otherwise I'll use a direct ranged attack against the first one.
Followed by:
Area vs. Mob 1: 1d20 : 1
Area vs. Mob 2: 1d20 : 3
Area vs. Mob 3: 1d20 : 7
Direct vs. Mob 1: 1d20 : 20
In such a case, even if the attack is the direct attack against mob 1, I will use the 1, because it was the first attack roll against mob 1.
