The party heads back west to check out the narrow, northern corridor. As they do so, Fandango hangs back a bit as if keeping an eye on the hallway.
Trask moves north a bit and discovers the water doesn't get very deep nor does the room ahead appear occupied.
At a signal, Amaril exclaims and drops his sun rod, extinguishing it. He immediately picks it back up as the rest of the party exclaims in worried tones about the last of light. It is almost completely dark - with just light fluorescence coming from the damp wall and a faint light visible from the northern end of the hallway.
In the darkness, Fandango moves swiftly and silently back to the open room and waits quietly - spider senses alert and ready to tingle.

From the east, down the hallway, the party sees a dim light flare up and hears, "Kill the intruder!"
At about the same time, some unseen something attacks Brunhilde, seemingly from out of thin air. The attack (22 vs fort) slams Brun hard (11 damage) and immobilizes her (save ends).
Fandango
As you move into the hallway, a light flares behind you and a voice says, "Kill the intruder!"
A wererat very near you attacks you from behind (28 vs AC) and slashes you with a shortsword (12 damage).
The other two rats spill into the hall as well.

The party hears sounds of rushing feet and combat back down the hall. Fandango cries out in pain. So does Brunhilde. Most of you can't see due to lack of light. Amaril can fire up his rod as a free action (iirc).

Fandango, still calm, unleashes a blinding barrage against his foes. Selmik is unaffected, but the two wererats are hit and blinded (9 damage each). Fandango uses the distraction to drink a healing potion (+10 hp).
Fandango then shifts away from Selmik and (AP) dashes to the south door - shutting it behind him.

Amaril moves back - gaining concealment. He then casts Witchfire at the cube and but the spell splashes off the creature (13 vs REF).
Wererat 1, blinded, slashes out at where he thought Fandango was.. but he misses badly as the rogue is gone.
Trask, inspired, casts fear at the cube. His attack penetrates (26 vs will) and the cube slithers back the way it came at a frantic (for it) pace. It takes Brunhilde with it.

OK, after much reflection and checking of sources - and learning lots more about Line of Sight and Line of Effect - you do have line of sight and line of effect to the rats for magical attacks but not for melee ranged attacks. There is, just barely, room over the cube to send magic.
Also, I cannot find a size limitation on push effects. So, illogical as it sounds, Trask can push 1000 cu feet of jello with arrows..
Also, the dire rat has not moved yet this encounter. Fandango can use his special rogue damage on it.

The First Strike feat or whatever is explicit: you get CA against any enemy that hasn't acted before you. I agree with Sagar's ruling. I would also understand if he put a limit on pushing but 4E is so explicit about not being limiting based on weapon type that even though it is bizarre logically in this case, it just makes things simpler overall. Only "insubstantial" provides real weapon immunity in 4E.

The second, carefully banked off the ceiling to get over the cube (full cover -5), actually JUST manages to strike the still dazed Selmik (22-5+2 vs REF). The wererat is spiked with cold (14 damage) and immobilized.
Amaril, with a smirk at Solak's inability to hit a wall, rares back and fires an eldritch blast right into the center of the cube. Liquified goo flows out as Amaril attack blasts a goodly sized hole in the side of the cube (14 damage).

The cube, sensing a helpless foe, re-engulfs Selmik.

Baladir tries a piercing strike against Selmik and (29 vs Ref) deftly weaves his attack though the wererat lieutenants defenses. Striking hard and deep, Baladir wounds Selmik badly.
Fandango moves to flank the dire rat and, with Trask's magical bonus to his, strikes the rat hard (20 vs AC, 24 damage). The rat is bloodied and reeling.
The wererogue flanks Selmik and (28 vs AC) stabs him in the back. Selmik screams as the silver dagger plunges in to the hilt (15 damage) and is withdrawn.

When I resolved your attack, it still said wererat 2 and you had a dire rat chewing on your robe so I applied the attack to the dire rat. Now, the damage in on the rat character sheet and on the damage table.. but I can't see where I ever actually typed it in. I also forgot to do an OA from rat to you.
So, if you want me to change it to Selmik, I can. I'll take the damage from the rat, apply the attack (including the cover), type it up all pretty, let the rat attack you for making a ranged attack adjacent to it and see what happens.
OR I can tell you the rat really took it in the shorts 'cause of your masterful spellcasting, ignore the OA (my mistake) and we'll continue on :)

Combat Challenge
In combat, it's dangerous to ignore a fighter. Every
time you attack an enemy, whether the attack hits or
misses, you can choose to mark that target. The mark
lasts until the end of your next turn. While a target
is marked, it takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls for any
attack that doesn't include you as a target. A creature
can be subject to only one mark at a time. A new mark
supersedes a mark that was already in place.
In addition, whenever a marked enemy that is
adjacent to you shifts or makes an attack that does not
include you, you can make a melee basic attack as an immediate interrupt.
MBA damage:
12+7(max damage)+11(high crit)+4(enh)=34 damage, assuming one can crit on an MBA interrupt. :D

All defenders have the ability to demand not to be ignored - the marks are only subtly different in that regard. Only fighters, however, get a free hit on a shift - but do note, its immediate, not OA, so its only 1x between fighter turns not 1x per combatant turn.

Wererat 1 strikes at Brunhilde (25 vs AC) and stabs hard through her defenses (-7 THP, -3 HP).
Trask lays a righteous brand on dire rat 1 (24 vs AC). His his isn't as hard as he might have wishes (5 damage) but it inspires Fandango (+3 to hit).
Dire rat 1 tries to bite Solak again (13 vs AC) but misses.
Dire rat 2 tries to bite Amaril (23vs AC), again, just causing pain (-7 THP) and exposing Amaril to disease again.

Old faithful: Reaping Strike on WR1, hopefully finishing it off, if not: marking it. (+11+2 vs AC, d12+7 on hit, 5 on miss)
ATK: 31 vs AC
DAM: 13
If that kills WR1, Brunhilde will move alongside of Baladir in the hallway.

Dire rat1, sensing Solaks distraction (ranged attack), takes the opportunity to take a bite (21 vs AC). Solak feels pain (but not much actual damage -6 THP) and is exposed to disease. (ST at end of combat).
Solak may look distracted, but he's quite aware of the dire rat, and deftly blocks the rat's attack.
- Staff of Defense; Immediate interrupt, +2AC (Con mod) after damage taken, recalculate ATK
With that, the rat's OA is vs 22AC.
Sagar

Solak, sensing the rat's interest, deftly places his staff where the rat's teeth were heading. Instead of leg, the rat bit into wood. (no damage to Solak, no exposure to disease).
Brunhilde, unloads her favorite attack, reaping strike, on the wererat. She easily connects (31 vs AC), slicing deeply into the wererats side (13 damage). The wererat seems to crumple around the wound and, as she withdraws her axe, it collapses - dead.
Selmik (who is having ungodly luck with recharges) gestures and another dire rat appears - this one behind Solak. Selmik then tries to attack Baladir but it is a feeble effort (14 vs AC), and the paladin avoids it easily. Selmik regenerates.
Baladir (to be determined).
Fandango, sensing opportunity, attacks dire rat 1 with a flourish. He hits easily (35 vs AC) and with deadly effect (22 damage). The dire rat dies.
The wererogue attacks Selmik. This time he is more successful (30 vs AC) and, with combat advantage, causes significant harm (12 damage, no regen next round for Selmik).

Move: shift to J13.
Std: Another Righteous Brand on DR2, +7 vs AC, d10+3
16 vs AC, 12 dmg, +3 to Fandango
Brun, forget the dires. Go after the tough guys. Try and get in a position behind Wererat Rogue so you can use Combat Superiority to stop him, even from shifting. Use your armor Daily if you have it.
Funny how two of the powers I planned to replace next level are coming in VERY useful this fight.

I'll change to Holy Strike then.
Holy Strike! (+10 to hit vs AC, 1d10 + 6 Damage for strength and sword) + 2 more in damage if marked.
I think I mistakenly thought I could remove my challenge. It seems that Selmik is indeed challeged until I challenge another. So, that is an additional 3 points of damage on him from me.

Just so you know, your Cleave description was only +5 dmg so the two don't match.
roll: 13 from before so 23 vs AC on Selmik
roll: 9 from before so 9+6+2=17 dmg from Holy Strike.

Baladir thrusts a Holy Strike at Selmik and just manages to hit (23 vs AC). The attack is powerful, though (16 damage), leaving Selmik bloodied and reeling.
Solak...

Solak wonders again why he's down here and daydreams for a moment about wandering alone through the open woods. Seemingly lost for a bit he steps away from the rat, realizes he should do something, and just does the same ol' thing out of habit.
- Move: Shift to L13
- Bloodhunt: +1 ATK vs bloodied foes (Selmik)
- Illusory Ambush; +7 vs Will, 1d6+5 psychic dmg, target takes -2 to attack rolls until end of my next turn

If you can give me a reasonable justification for how you can use a magical effect like this to stun instead of kill, I will allow it.
I can understand with a weapon - using the flat of the blade or the hilt to mitigate lethality. I can't figure out how that would work for this type of magical attack, though.

Knocking Creatures Unconscious
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or fewer, you can choose to knock it unconscious rather than kill it. Until it regains hit points, the creature is unconscious but not dying. Any healing makes the creature conscious.
If the creature doesn?t receive any healing, it is restored to 1 hit point and becomes conscious after a short rest.
Just fyi

OK. This is psychic damage, not fire/ice/force/whatever. Of any of the damages by magical means, seems like this would be the most likely to be able to knock someone out instead of outright killing.

That was a pretty lame answer :lowrazz:, but I thought of something last night so...
Solak gestures. Hands of illusion (23 vs will), unseen by the party, grasp and tug at the wounded wererat.. pulling him down into smothering blackness.
Selmik collapses.
Amaril moves

Amaril moves west and, after cursing dire rat 2, blasts it (14 vs Ref) solidly (16 damage).
Trask smacks it with a righteous blow (16 vs AC), again striking it solidly (12 damage). The rat is bloodied and reeling and set up for Fandango (+3 to hit).
Rat 2 tries to bite Fandango (23 vs AC 22) and hits (4 THP lost, exposed to disease).
Rat 3 tries to bite Trask and (20 vs AC 19) also hits (6 THP lost, exposed to disease).
