Erik & Togar:
After a fitful bit of rest, Erik and Togar awake to the sound of the surf. The wind is dying, but the sky is still grey. They must have been really exhausted. They sit up and notice a bit of crude writing scrawled into the sand:
geting cap
bak soon
They see that where the skiff was, there are only a few gouges in the sand that lead to the sea. A quarter mile out the skiff bobs in the swell, a single crewman rowing. A quarter mile beyond that is The Wayfarer, propped up on the reef. Erik and Togar appear to be in some sort of large, crescent-shaped bay. Far to the east, they see jagged rocks climbing higher into cliffs. The two unfortunates sit at the edge of the jungle, which is behind to the north. The beach curves away from to the southwest. Bits and pieces of wood and rope and sail are washing up nearby.
Damelon & Crashing:
With a groan, Damelon sits up. He manages to register that Crashing is sitting next to him, watching the water and looking a bid shell-shocked.
"Ungh... how long were we out?"
"Don't know. It's daytime, at least..."
They find themselves on a beach that runs north/south, with the jungle behind to the west. The beach curves around to the northeast, and across the large bay they can see a steep cliffs rising from the see. About a half-mile to the south, they see what appears to be a small stream emerging from the jungle and merging with the ocean. The sky is grey, with clouds scudding by, but the storm seems to be over, at least. They see the wreck of The Wayfarer about a half-mile out in the water to the southeast.
Both Damelon and Crashing (Passive Perception 19 & 15) notice what appears to be a humanoid figure lying face-up about a hundred feet away to the northeast, along the beach. It's arm moves feebly.
(Damelon & Crashing each start the day with 1 surge expended)
Sigurd:
Water runs into Sigurd's nose. It makes him choke and snort. He startles awake and finds himself on his stomach, at the edge of the waterline. He lifts himself up with his hands and briefly looks around. This shore continues west/east, with large, black rocks rising a few hundred yards to the east. Sigurd rolls over and sits up. At least all his gear seems to be intact...
Wait? What's that to the west? A crate sticking out of the sand? (Passive Perception: 14)
(Sigurd starts the day with 2 surges expended)
KT:
Something pinches KT's leg. "Todd... that's not appropriate..." he murmurs, half dazed. Suddenly, he is awake with a start, scrambling forward.
"Whew" he sighs, looking back over his shoulder. "Hermit crab."
KT looks around and sees that he is on a sandy beach... with jungle to the north and the ocean to the south. Straight out in the water, about a half-mile out, he sees the remains of The Wayfarer... is that a small boat pulling for it? He squints.
Something catches his attention out of the corner of his eye (Passive Perception: 14). There appears to be a humanoid figure, lying face-down near the water edge to his west.

Well now I will have to say that was kinda fun... but not that i want to do it again. Have you seen any sign of the others yet?
Looking around Togar sees his pack and oilcloth wraped huck o'steel laying near where the skift was.?????? guessing here.
Maybe we should look for any survivers. I will go this way (left), Pointing at Erik, you go that way (right) along the beach... also look for any place we might be able to make a camp, fresh water, some cover?

"Only others I see are you and our able seaman in the rowboat.
"You know, friend, this isn't the first time I've woken up on a beach and been not entirely sure how I got there. First time my partner, if you will, was a man, though." Erik stands up and brushes some sand off his robe. He squirms uncomfortably. "Oh, that does get into the nastiest of places, doesn't it? *sigh*"
"Ok, east I go." He turns about after a few paces and states, "My name's Erik, by the way," and continues off. You see him stop after a few yards to check his reflection in the water's edge and adjust his hair.

Somewhere down the beach Crashing stops suddenly and looks around, as if he heard whispering voices but couldn't trace the origin of the sound.

Sigurd manages to pull himself up into a sitting position.
What ze hell happened? He begins to get his bearings. He figures that getting his gear on might be a good start since he has no idea of what kind of things lurk beyond the tree line. Sigurd begins to put his gear on. Some protection and some offense is necessary at this point.
After he gets his gear on, he will double check that there is no one around him. He will check for tracks in the area. And if it is all clear, he will head over to the crate.

Something catches his attention out of the corner of his eye (Passive Perception: 14). There appears to be a humanoid figure, lying face-down near the water edge to his west.
KT jumps forward to move towards the figure on the beach. Just as quick as he jumped to move he comes to a complete stop. What if its someone who's dead, not just tired? He'd really rather not deal with such a thing. But, what if its one of the guys from the boat and he just needs some help? KT thinks about if he was face down out there and someone ignored him. With that he moves cautiously towards it.

Togar retrieves his items from the area where the skiff was. Thankfully they didn't get too wet. He and Erik agree to split up and search the beach. Togar heads Southwest, Erik heads east.
After a few hundred feet, Togar still hasn't seen anything but water, sand, trees and bits of wood. He gathers some of the drier stuff, thinking a fire might be a good idea later. He keeps heading SW, his arms growing more and more full as he goes.
Erik strolls east, along the beach. The rocks appear to be some distance ahead. Probably a mile or more likely two. Looking back, he sees Togar growing smaller in the distance. Is he picking up something?
Elsewhere, Crashing and Damelon walk over to the figure that lies on the sand, half out of the water. As they get closer, they note that the moving arm was simply from the ebbing waves jostling it. This man appears quite dead, and you think you recognize him from The Wayfarer... one of the crew. His eyes are closed, and he's missing his shoes. Though only recently dead, he doesn't look particularly appetizing. Yet.
Sigurd, ever the man of action, stands and disentangles his semi-attached armour and gear, reassembling it into a more functional formation. He takes a look around him and sees that he is alone. He strolls over to the wooden crate, which is about 2' x 1' and protrudes from the wet sand. It looks recently washed-up, probably from The Wayfarer.
In yet another place, KT approaches the humanoid figure carefully. This appears to be a sailor from The Wayfarer. He's face down, so KT can only assume he is dead, given his face being stuck in the wet sand, though it's hard to tell from this distance and angle. KT's eyes are drawn to the man's boots, which appear to be of good quality. The man's oilskin cloak is strung out beside him, half-draped over a shore rock that protrudes from the sand.

Sigurd opens the wooden crate. It looks like it was some sort of foot-locker, now that he examines it. Inside is an old shirt, a length of rope that looks like it was used to learn knot-tying on, and a brass tube. A spyglass, maybe?
Damelon and Crashing look over the (obviously now) dead seaman. In one of his pockets, they find 48sp. They drag the corpse above the waterline into the hot sun. Damelon looks NE along the beach and yells, he turns sound and yells towards the stream. He hears no reply. Then, the pair begin gathering bits of wood and flotsam from the wreck. Some of it is wet, but other pieces appear to be quite dry, stuff that's been here for quite some time. Within a few minutes, they get a modest fire going.
Erik continues walking east. Every five yards or so, he gets distracted by bits of pretty shell and eroded glass.
Togar continues walking. After about 45 minutes, he looks up to see what appears to be a thin, vertical column of smoke to the southwest.
KT approaches the figure. This man is clearly drowned. Stooping to grab the figure by the legs to drag him from the surf, he lifts and with a grunt, begins pulling. As he does so, he hears a clicking noise behind him. Dropping the legs and turning, he whirls to see the "rock" seem to shift out from under the cloak. Whatever it is, it's big, black, clicking, and advancing... "Roll Initiative!", it seems to hiss, snapping at him with large claws.

Sigurd will pull the crate far enough onto the beach so that it won't float away. He'll take it all with him. And he'll examine the brass tube. Can I use it to see through? Sigurd (Perception: 13) cleans off the spyglass, extends it, and puts it to his eye. There seems to be a bit of water trapped in it, so it's a bit distorted, but it still is better than nothing. He looks to the East and sees the cliffs rising up at the end of the cove. He looks to the North... and sees a green blur, bearing down on him! Oh wait... that's the jungle, and it's too close for the spyglass to be useful. He looks South, and the glass helps him see a bit of blurry detail on the The Wayfarer. The seaman has reached it, and appears to be scrambling onto the deck. He doesn't see anyone else yet. Sigurd turns the spyglass West... and far down the beach he sees... a figure... dancing?
Damelon and Crashing look around after pocketing the coin (update your own character sheet). There isn't anything obviously eatable here. Except (Nature: 19) Crashing notices that a few of the trees at the edge of the jungle might be coconut palms. This might be the type of ocean that has a fish or two in it as well.
Erik, arms full of seashells and driftwood, and thinking he's gone far enough, decides to turn around. When he does (Perception: 18) he notices that far to the other end of the bay (southwest) there appears to be a thin column of smoke.
Togar keeps walking towards the thin line of smoke to the southwest (I assume). As he draws within about a quarter mile of it, he notes that there appear to be two figures near it.
KT's eyes widen at the sight of the giant crustacean advancing on him.

KT utters a sound not unlike "EEP!" before instinctively generating a cutting limerick on the fly. It is unknown how such words might hurt the feelings of a crustacean bearing little in the arena of thinking faculties, but nonetheless, the artful sounds strike home, hitting the crab in the itty-bitty-pea-brain.
(ATK: 13 vs WIL: Hit, DMG: 7, Crab is -2 ATK)
The Crab strikes out in vengeful retaliation (or is it just instinct?) but, still stinging from the tongue-lashing, it misses the mouthy bard. (AoO for KT's ranged attack at 0 range)
Remustering it's crusty courage, it responds with it's own attack, however: a Crushing Grab (ATK: 23-2 vs AC: Hit, DMG: 8, KT is grappled and immobilized but can still attack or attempt to escape) that snags the bard's ankle in a painfully strong grasp.

Sigurd begins jogging down the beach towards where he saw the gyrating figure. "Maybe some sort of tribal ritual?" he thinks. It will be several minutes before he gets there.
Erik strides confidently down the beach, humming a cutesy tune, carrying his baubles. Soon, he passes the site where he started from, and follows what he assumes to be Togar's footsteps.
Togar finally draws near to where the fire is burning. Next to it, he sees two humans. Several smashed coconut husks lie on the ground. The human with the spear appears to be attempting to fashion some sort of upper-body under-garment out of the shells... Togar is... apprehensive. The two look up when they see him approach (Togar has encountered Damelon and Crashing)

ESCAPE: MOVE ACTION
✦ Acrobatics or Athletics: Make an Acrobatics check

✦ Check: Resolve your check.
Success: You end the grab and can shift as part of
this move action.
Failure: You’re still grabbed.
With the crab not able to hurt him on that attempt, KT realizes he might have a chance to get away and tries wiggling his foot out again.

The crab, growing even more annoyed, attempts to clamp down again (5+5-2 vs AC: miss) but all that wriggling seems to help the bard avoid damage. In an attempt to alter the field of battle, the crab attempts, and succeeds to drag KT closer to the water (17 vs FOR).

It's about noon. It's still overcast and windy, but not as stormy. There are still whitecaps.
Damelon is lovin' the crab, but wishes he had something to wash it down with.

Might be some rum on the wreck. we can keep and eye on the weather... once this wind dies down some it should be fine.

Damelon strains his ears and hears... almost... something...
Squinting out towards the wreck, he sees movement... maybe... on the deck. He squints harder, but just gets eye strain.

Bah lost a large post....
"Guys, we need to think about where our camp should be. We have fresh water. We need to forage, but we need a base camp first. I don't recommend sleeping in the open with smoke telling anything on the island that we are here. Let's move the fire closer to the jungle (forest?) and start building some rough shelters.
"As far as the wreck, salvage is a good idea if we are going to be here as long as I think we are, but I am not swimming out there in this surf and that sailor took the skiff. I am better at scouting and basic survival than swimming. Get a boat, though, and I can help row it in calmer surf."

Sigurd remembers the spyglass he found. He pulls it out and looks towards the wreck.

After a bit of adjustment, the wreck comes into focus. Kind of. The water in the glass looks like it will be there to stay... Sigurd sees... the skiff in the foreground, tied to the low railing of the Wayfarer. On the deck he can see figures scurrying about. A LOT of them... more than there should be. There appears to be a battle going on.
Panning to the edge of the wreck he sees what appears to be a pair of dugout canoes. Panning further beyond the wreck, out around the cliffs across the bay he sees what appear to be several more canoes with outriggers and multiple rowers, moving swiftly towards The Wayfarer. He pans back to the deck... he sees a figure that might be the captain... judging by the white shirt. He is lying on the deck... there is another humanoid standing over him with something raised high. A club maybe? In a split second, the instrument comes down on the prone figure. The attacker raises his weapon again and shakes it.
You ALL hear the blood-curdling howl of triumph that carries across the water.

Damelon grabs a smoldering stick by the safe end and starts covering the fire in sand.

Startled by Damelon's sharp voice, KT jumps up and is ready to get going.
He's confused for a moment, thinking to himself, "Where's my drum!? And why don't I have Selo's memorized?!"
Snapping out of that, KT mumbles a bit, "What the hell am I thinking about?". "A'right, I'm ready to get going. To the treeline, then?"

OK, which direction do you guys want to take?
The beach runs from the SW to NE here, with the jungle directly to the NW and the ocean to the SE. The stream is a few hundred yards to your south, and runs directly NW into the jungle.
Most of the party came down the beach from the NE.

Damelon: "Actually, run up the stream. Get your feet wet and keep them wet. We don't want tracks in the sand more than we already have. I will follow."
Damelon will trail the group and try and cover our tracks and the fire to the best he can.

I suggest we get into the cover of the jungle and watch to see what happens on the boat, if the boarding party heads towards us or heads off in a different direction. We won't lose all that much in terms of time.
Also, any village they came from, if not on the coast, is most likely to be located along the stream. We'd be running from the beach into the fire.

Erik listens intently to the discussions. When Damelon finishes his bit about following the river, Erik says "Oh, yes, good idea!"
When Crashing suggests hanging out in the jungle to watch the boarding party Erik exclaims, "That's a good idea, too. Let's do that!"

We can do both. Into the jungle edge, but follow the stream to do it. We know the natives attacked by boat from another side of the island so we should be ok in the short term.
Don't forget I am covering our tracks.

OK 5/6 ain't bad. That is probably the hardest part of any PbP campaign... off we go!
As Damelon (almost called you Trask) and a few others scramble to douse/cover the fire as quickly as possible, Sigurd watches the wreck until he and his comrades retreat to the jungle-edge by the mouth of the stream. He sees continued activity on the wreck by the mysterious attackers, though the battle appears to be over. They appear to be looting what they can from the remains of the vessel; he sees several of them make multiple trips belowdecks to bring up items that they toss into their small flotilla of canoes. They appear to be quite focused on their task and have not yet noticed the remaining smoke and steam that arises from the extinquished campfire.
The party continues to watch the wreck from the edge of the jungle. The stream gurgles nearby, drowning all sounds from the distant wreck. KT is sitting on the little stream-bank, dangling his feet in the water. It's cold, shallow, about ten feet wide and, he notes, apparently fresh. What's further... are those tracks along the far bank?
How long will you wait/watch for?
Shiz

Damelon is in no hurry right now, but his idea of building a base camp and sitting tight for a few days doesn't seem like such a good idea with aggressive tribesman on the island. He would rather be pro-active.
Sigurd cannot put down the spyglass. He is fascinated by the scene. It reminds him of his own tribe's raids and makes him a bit homesick, not that he would admit that to himself or anyone else.

Crashing wades across the small stream. The water is cool, clean and fresh. Clambering up the far bank, he realizes that this is a rough path, not just a set of single prints. It doesn't look like the path has been used recently, but the tracks are most certainly human, and run in both directions along the stream edge.
