New trailer (http://www.guildwars2.com/en/) for Guild Wars 2. Of course, no mention of when it might actually be out or anything useful...

Guild Wars 2, now with more guild and even bigger wars.
Did we not just spend 3+ years bailing these people out of trouble? Now there's a dragon and an army of the undead to deal with? What is it with these guys?!
At least the Asura look less Jar-Jar and more dark gnome. And was that a Norn that basically looked like a Polar Bear in Armor? Sign me up to play that race/class please!

+friend GuildWars2 on Facebook. ;) And twitter. :D (gah, I'm too hooked on social apps these days... gonna get worse with the iphone)
The video is VERY slick (d/loaded the 1080HD) but I wanna see more of the gameplay.
Will the character models be the same as the present GW, or will they be more higher quality (increased polygons) option for those with higher power PCs?
I need to work on getting my girl to 20 one day... AND get to the North.

Zhaitan's undead armies surged from the sea, hungry for the destruction of the five races of Tyria: the charr, a ferocious race of feline warriors; the asura, magical inventors of small size and great intellect; the norn, towering shapeshifters from the frigid northern lands; the sylvari, a mysterious young race of visionary plant folk; and the humans, an embattled but resilient people.

I hope this means we can choose something other than a Human! :D :woot:

Yes, five playable races is one of the features of GW2. Lots of people were hoping for tengu, but alas that will have to wait for an expansion. (Lots were hoping for dorfs, too. Their exclusion is explained at the end of the EotN campaign, though.)

Going through my comics today, this one reminded me of this thread.

Heh. Warning...buzzkill incoming.
As apparently discussed at PAX this weekend, the armored polar bear from the picture is a (as yet unplayable) race called the Kodan. They exist in the Norn region and are supposed to have a rather well-developed culture. Sounds like a sendup of the panserbjrone from The Golden Compass if you ask me.

Bah! Stupid Guild Wars, always with the letdowns. First I can't play as a Norn in GW1, now I can't play as a cool polar bear in GW2!

That is why Guild Wars 2 does not have a dedicated healing class.
Hmmm.

The ranger...here (http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/ranger/).
The graphics are excellent, as is the norm. The skills look impressive. There will be ten species of possible pets (to start), and a ranger may have three pets - although only one active at a time. Three types of pets, too. Terrestial (i.e., bear), amphibious (i.e., lizard), and even aquatic (shark).

I've pretty much lost interest in the GW franchise because they've pushed it further and further back. Maybe that will change once it finally sees the light of day - if it ever sees the light of day.

Sheesh. More than two months since they last provided a new class.
The Engineer (http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/engineer/) is next up.

The final class has finally been revealed. To the shock of no one, it's the mesmer (http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/mesmer/).
Monk is the only core class to not return. None of the four expansion classes (assassin, ritualist, paragon, dervish) are back, although there is a thief class to replace assassins and the engineer does much the same things as a ritualist (swapping turrets for spirits).
