Anyone else play this game at all? Started a few weeks ago with just the free version, but went and became a member this past weekend. I'm really enjoying it. I've kinda burnt out on the WoW raiding and since that's all there really is to do once you've finished leveling/questing (besides PvP), I've not been playing it much anymore. Runescape is a lot more relaxing game and has much more individual content, although I did find a small clan to hang out and chat with. There's a TON of questing content, which is what I honestly really enjoyed in WoW more than anything (will most likely be coming back to WoW for Cataclysm for that reason).

There's multiple servers, but you're not stuck to any single one. It's just a matter of logging on to the same one to meet up with people. Overall community is a bit more immature than WoW, especially on the free servers, but it's easily ignorable.

The thing I really like is it's playable anywhere! Just runs in the browser as a Java application. Being a Java programmer myself, I'm impressed with what they've done. :)

I've heard this mentioned a few times in the chat's on dA but never looked at it until now.

(hrms) Better than DDO? (need to find that disk, I wonder if my character is still on there from the free trial)

Char... toons should still be there... if you have the time you can download the client from the DDO site

Not sure how it compares to DDO as I've not played that.

RS has been pretty fun, though. When I get bored for frustrated with one task, there's so many other things I can go and do. Oddly enough, I've been having fun with Farming lately. :p Like any other game, once you've maxed out skills and done all the quests, I'm not sure how the game would be anymore. But there's so much to do before that period of time hits, I think I'll be enjoying it for a while. Development has really picked up on the game in 2009, and lots of new content is regularly added. And if I need to save money, I don't have to pay. Severely limits what I can then do when playing, but at least I know I don't have to worry about my toon disappearing if I'm not paying the monthly fee for a while.

One other project by the same developer has me intrigued as well... http://www.mechscapeworld.com/
