Let's talk some tactics.

Trask is inclined to drop Moment of Glory right off the bat. This will push and prone enemies and gives us all Resist 5. Stay within Close Blast 5 of each other.

Unfortunately, with our low init rolls, I think they are going to get 2 rounds on us.

Baladir was thinking something along the same lines. Drop Hallowed Spot. That gives everyone +3 to all defenses, and does some minor damage. It's burst 3. So, pushing them back is not what I would prefer. But prone would be cool. I think I have my one heart, one mind back. I'll be turning this on quickly as well. After that, it's going to be the usual for me.

No reason for Trask to use his Moment of Glory now since that would push all the baddies away from Brun. I assume the leader has another nasty surprise to drop on us.

Do we think that zone of flies is for a turn or the encounter? If the encounter, can he move it? Trask was thinking of trying to push them into it, but the init order might make that pointless.

Now that I know we'll get an extended rest after this fight, Amaril's going to use one of his Dailies and his AP next turn.

As is fandango.

I'll go for the blind unless I someone else has an aoe stun/blind/type effect. I dont remmeber.

Also, I'll use Boo if my blind doesnt hit the leader. I had forgotten about him.

I don't. I was going to hit one of the Warriors w/ my pseudo-charm daily.

Let's focus fire. Marksman 1 and Leader for now.

If I Moment of Glory the leader and warriors into the cloud, they will be prone and then have to waste an action to get out unless the leader can move it. I am thinking it is better to keep them close to us.

I assumed the plan was to focus on the Leader, yeah. I "charm" one of the Warriors and make him hit the Leader (assuming we can keep them adjacent to each other).

Man, I thought I was going down. :eek!:

Thanks Shiz.

So did I. The deathmage rolled poorly on that death strike.

You seem to get lucky that way...

If we kill the fighters, the others should flee.

Does anyone feel strongly if I should spend my last heal? Amaril is vulnerable but we still haven't seen any special attack from the fighters and I am worried they can pack a wallop.

Not luck. The blessings of Pelor. ;)

Dinbin,

Where are you going to be putting Brun?

We might consider keeping our ranged folks at the tree edge while we stay in the open... uh... absorbing damage and stuff. There's really no good place to bottle them up, really... unless we both pick a corner of the bug-cloud and defend that, with the ranged folks N and between us.

Well, there are 10 orcs, so they will run around the cloud. If you guys are back to back, you can be surrounded by 8. Every space apart allows 2 more to surround you.

Still, you need to keep the squishies somewhat safe and RoS will trash any around you.

Lycos

So, I'm thinking that we should have Fandango go and look through this half-orcs stuff. We can't be sitting here for days waiting.

Aside from out-of-band things I personally might think of, I'm sure Brun won't be able to contribute much to the "talky" aspects of the mission. I'll try to keep her mouth shut. More or less.

Shiz

Someone please make an Insight roll on the two "farmers". Fandango should not let them out of his sight - and they should not see him doing it.

If we get the chance, it might be time for Brun and Fandango to talk to these guys - outside of Baladir's eyes and ears if you get my meaning. Maybe we can roust them out of bed quietly and put the fear of Brun into 'em.

Just have her threaten to bed them. That outta do it.

I think the two farmers are just farmers. Again, we have already been ambushed and our contact has been killed. Whoever is looking to mess us up knows about us and knows where we are.

Baladir needs to stop telling his life story to everyone we meet, granted, but I think the damage here is done and minimal. If they run off and alter someone to our presence it will just mean that whoever is aligned against us will just send a force out to try and stop us and that's actually already happened.

We aren't on a secret mission at this point, we're on a pretty public mission.

We will be moving through an extended run of RP stuff now.
When rolls are required - like Trask's searching or Baladir's perception, would you prefer to make the rolls yourselves or just let me do it?

If I do it, I can post the issue and resolution at the same time - we don't have to wait hours for a small advance in time.

If you want to do it, that's fine too. I know I usually like to roll for my own characters.

Please let me know.

DinbinFanfoom

I'm fine with us rolling to stay involved. RP is fun!

OOC: Looks like we should wait for the courier's contact and fill them in?

Lycos
10th February 2010, 06:38 PM
I'm ok either way. This format really needs to be streamlined in the way things go, but if the group decides that we want to roll them up ourselves. I'm ok with providing a list of ten rolls at a time if that helps.

Lycos
10th February 2010, 06:40 PM
Sagar,

If that resolves that part of the encounter, Baladir will return and in private he will tell everything that he found. It seems that we should stay here until reinforcements come. That's how I read it.

EricStratton

I'm fine w/ Sagar rolling for us.

Shiz
10th February 2010, 09:10 PM
Sagar can roll fro Trask any time to speed things along.

Asharad
11th February 2010, 09:25 AM
Feel free to roll for me. Although I guess in a lot of situations we'd have to say "I'll try stealth!" to start a roll, at which point we might as well roll anyway.

Sagar
11th February 2010, 10:13 AM
Where a roll is provided with the action requested, I'll use the roll.

If a specific action is requested or develops logically from the requested course of action chosen, I'll roll a check rather than stop everything until someone can give me the roll.

EricStratton
12th February 2010, 11:24 AM
Just so I'm clear it looks like we have two choices - wait around for our contact's back up or just head on to D? Is that right?

Sagar
12th February 2010, 12:33 PM
Do you have any idea how to get to Defiance?

EricStratton
12th February 2010, 01:02 PM
First star on the right, straight on till morning?

I thought the Sarge and his men were taking us there. I feel so lost. :lowlol:

Asharad
12th February 2010, 01:44 PM
Sarge and his men were taking us here, I believe. Our contact was supposed to take us to Defiance.

That's why I said earlier I didn't think we had much choice but to hang around and wait for the reinforcements. They know where we are going.
