The group starts up the crumbling stairs. The group stands at the top of the stairs and are about to head down the corridor they find there when they realize that someone is missing... Crashing. Peering back over the edge, they see the shaman gasping for breath on the floor below. He waves at them that he is OK, and climbs gingerly back to his feet and up the stairs.

Sigurd wraps his arms around a protesting Damelon and picks him up by the legs like some sort of giant pliers. Holding the cursing rogue horizontally, he carefully pokes Damelon's head around the intersection's corner, then rotates him to look south as well. Damelon reports back that the tunnel turns east at the edge of his vision to the north, but he can't see what it does to the south.

Which way guys, any preference?

I'm not sure I understand what I'm looking at on the map. But I like north first.

Cool, let's go North and peer around the corner.

North to the corner.

Damelon leading the way, the group creeps down the hall and peers around the corner. They're back in the big fountain room... on an even higher balcony. This one is narrower... you can see the other level jutting out below you (the wooden part) and the pool far below. The balcony is pretty wobbly... it is also stone but appears to have a lot of gaps and holes in it.

Dungeoneering -is the balcony stable? (+0)

Looks safe to me! You go first (push Erik)

KT surveys the platform. He surmises that you'll have no problem traversing it if you stay out of the gaping holes.

"And did you know that you can avoid internal bleeding just by not getting stabbed?"

No you can't!

No you can't!

It's not a guarantee, but it helps! Look - I'm not stabbing you right now, and you're not bleeding internally.

Now watch what happens when I run you through!

We might as well finish this floor since we're here.

We might as well go South now.

The group backtracks, skulking along the dark corridor. Crashing (passive perc) notices something odd... there appear to be faint tracks in the dust of the floor. He also finds another slip of paper.
"The High One is very ill. The rest of us are very concerned. He has taken to his bed and we are tending him, but his cramping is quite violent, and he has a fever. I hope he gets better soon! We have suspended ceremonies for the week, to give him the rest he needs."
Crashing picks up the note and hands it to Sigurd, who seems to be collecting them. Rounding a bend, the party comes to another balcony... It seems more stable than the other ledge, and the tracks are fresh here. Someone has been standing on this ledge, or pacing around on it, within the past 24 hours. Peering down, the group notes that it overlooks the entry foyer, that they had entered earlier in the day. There are no other exits.

Erik surmises that this level is strictly for viewing... both the fountain room and of incoming visitors.

Crashing doesn't find any more notes on the ledge. The tracks seem to go from the ledge back to the stairs the party came up from, but peter out before they get there... not as much dust on the floor.

I'm going to join Crashing in looking for these notes. How do you want to do this? We can belabor the effort and roll perception all the time or you can use the passive perception numbers. Which do you want to do?

The notes have been in plain sight thusfar. They looked dropped, not hidden. The checks are very low, so you needent worry. Where to now?

Lycos

Good question. Where do you want to go guys? I assume back down to the fountain level again. I think that's the only level we haven't fully checked at this point. Right Din?

Damelon will examine the walls around J5 for a secret door, 15.

Damelon searches the walls (on either side of J11) but again, they're just walls of stone block. The footprints don't actually stop here, but lead back towards the stairs, fading as they go.

The party picks it's way carefully down the stairwell and crosses the bazaar. As they come to the corner at the bottom of the steps, KT notices something odd with the north wall ahead (G7). The stonework doesn't match up perfectly on the right side.

We don't need a map yet. We examine the "anomaly" more closely.

Damelon sees that there is in fact a swinging door here... that is camouflaged to look the same as the surrounding stonework. A crack runs across the top, down the right side, and across the floor. The most intersting bit is that it is not hidden terribly well... specifically it appears to be slightly ajar, something that was not the case earlier... was it?

Greebo

Was it? (roll?)

My "was it?" was more for raising the suspense level, but no, you would have noticed it more easily before if it had been like that.

DinbinFanfoom

Damelon moves towards the door and gives it a shove. It gives way easily, and swings in and to the left. Before him, Damelon sees a dark passageway with two doors visible between him and the darkness beyond.
