And the already thin corp of featured backs gets a bit thinner... Ricky WIlliams retires (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/0724ricky-ON.html)

Heh, was just stopping by the tavern to post this exact same thing...

As if the RB corp in the NFL wasn't muddled enough... *sigh* Ah well, ought to make the draft that much more interesting...

Rumor has it that the "retirement" could be short lived. Some are speculating that he'll be back before the 1st game of the season.

Hell of a time to pick to decide to retire though. Draft day has come and gone, the waiver wires are picked over and free agents mostly signed, and you decide to leave your team in a position where they need to replace a key component of their offense. If's Ricky is serious, he'd better not plan on living in Miami during his retirement...

He was last seen with a one way ticket to Asia, literally....

Heh, my former brother-in-law is probably curled up in the fetal position muttering, "Why, God, why?" over and over again (he's a huge Dolphins fan). He kind of forgot to come pick up his daughter last night, so I know something messed him up.

I bet he's gone for good.

He's never really enjoyed playing football, has a disorder that makes him very unconfortable being in crowds (he used to give interviews while wearing his helmet), he's just not your typical football player.

I like him. Hope he likes Asia.

Betting he is gone for good is like betting that I will die some day. It is a 99.9% certainty. :D
