View Full Version : Doubt this will really affect anyone's draft strategy,

but I just saw this:

Cowboys cut QB Carter (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBpcTFhbmEwBF9TAzk1ODYxMDU5BHNlYwN0 bQ--?slug=ap-cowboys-cartercut&prov=ap&type=lgns)

Guess he doesn't get to spend a year listening to Keyshawn bitch about how he's not "throwing him the damn ball."

Geez. I've never been a fan of the 'Boys, tho' one or two of the players I've always liked. But this makes me feel really sorry for them... Leaving the "playoff bound" team to the hands of Vinny, with unprovens as backups, puts a whole lot of weight on George's shoulders...

So I'd say Carter's release affects draft strategies in a big way, just not for the position you were thinking about... :)

I don't get this move. Carter was only going to get better with Eddie in the mix and he took the team to 10-6 last year. Vinny is a stretcher waiting to happen.

Carter has a bit of a nose candy problem

Wonder how long into training camp it'll be before Vinny breaks a hip?

I saw this yesterday and thought maybe Dallas management had been sampling some of Q. Carter's magic powder from his locker. I mean come on, drug issue or not, the guy was your only legitimate option at QB. Vinny is a joke, and the two backups have never thrown an NFL pass between them. This basically tanks the Cowboys hopes for any sort of playoff bid.

That said, there are several very expereinced QBs still looking for work. Do not be surprised if by this weekend Kurt Warner or Tim Couch is wearing a big blue star...

Umm, Warner's battling for the Giants starting job, and Couch is now Favre's backup in Green Bay.

Really? I must have missed that both of them signed with the teams, I thought they were still holding out.

Ah well, I'm sure somebody somewhere will get cut and give Dallas a late option. Where's Neil O'Donnel when you need him? :D

Yeah, the guy's even got some experience in that area. He made two completions to the guys with the big blue star on their helmet in Super Bowl XXX.
