Other FFL and misc games

Thought I'd post this here, since it seems to fit best... With the Olympics starting shortly, plus NFL beginning in a month (yay!), ESPN has signups for a few different free games. I created a Westwood Tavern group, so sign up, if you're interested.

The games are at this link (http://games.espn.go.com/cgi/home/request.dll?FRONTPAGE). So far, I've only created a league "Westwood Tavern" group name, with the password "pepis", for the ESPN Athens Challenge. When it becomes available, I'll be doing likewise for the two free FFL games, Pick'Em (picking winning squad; will likely do against the spread) and GridIron (pick players for most points).

Okay, I've set up the Gridiron Challenge, the Pigskin Pick'em, and the College Pick'em. Just click on the link in the first post, register an account (free to register, free to play, can set all spam mail to OFF, and no catches), and join the private league Legends of Westwood, password: pepis.

Just some fun season-long timewasters, and would be, at the very least, Raveneye's first legitimate reason to trash talk, postdraft. :lol:

- On the main ESPN Games Index page, enter your member name and password. (ie, sign in :)).
- Once signed in, click the game you want to play. For instance, Gridiron Challenge. This sends you to the Gridiron Challenge frontpage.
- Click "Create Your Entry."
- If desired, change your team name. Default is "Last-name _ "Entry" Click "Submit Entry Name"
- Click "Create or Join a Group"
- Search groups for Legends
- Click on Legends of Westwood, and enter password "pepis"

It's been a long time since I joined a group that I haven't created, so please let me know if you have any further trouble with this. :)

Gridiron Challenge - You have $50 game-dollars as your salary cap for the season, and you have to choose 2 QBs, 2RBs, 2WRs/TEs, 2K, and 1DEF within it. The salaries for each player is listed to the right side of the screen. Also keep in mind BYE weeks. The week is locked a certain amount of time prior to kickoff of the first game that week, meaning your team cannot be editted or changed until after the final game has been played, ie Tues morning or midday. (I think it's like 5min prior to kickoff, but it may be an hour.... Will look into that.) The salaries per player change as the season goes on, based on the players' weekly performances.

College Pick'em - You choose the winners of the ten games listed for that weekend, then you rate them based on your confidence in your picks. For instance, this week one game they have listed is Colorado v Colorado State. If you are kinda sure CS will win, pick CS as the winner and give them a confidence rating of 5. If you are totally confident that CS will win, give them a rating of 1. Etc.

(Pro Football) Pigskin Pick'em - The game is not available yet, but this will be choosing the winner of all NFL games that week, against the spread. If you don't know what against the spread means (for anyone, not just Shiz), please ask.

For both pick'em games, there are 1-2 tiebreaker games that are optional to answer.

It's just a little extra bit of fun to pass the football season away... Everyone who can read is free to play. Including, presumably, Kristin. :lol: (j/k :))
