So last night I get home, have dinner, take a walk and around 8pm I go to log into Yahoo and prepare to draft this years Westwood Fantasy Football Championship Team only to discover...
...my DSL service is out again.
I call support and they tell me it's the same problem. They apparently fixed it for a few hours earlier in the day but as soon as everyone got home and hopped on the net their equipment went haywire again.
@#$%&*!!!!!!!
At this point I went off. It's going on a week since I've had internet access between the equipment failures on their end and them insisting I swap out a perfectly good Cisco 675 router for some crappy $20 Korean piece of crap that can't keep an IP address leased between sessions. I've been a customer for 6 years, which is thousands of dollars spent with them, and was one of the first home DSL subscribers for my area. I never had a problem until I move, now suddenly they can't do anything right.
I told the manager guy "If I told the people at work that their network was down, and I had guys trying to fix it 24/7, and I couldn't fix it in a week, I'd be fired. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't fire your company as my service provider." Of course he couldn't provide one other than offering me a lame ass credit for the outage. Idiots. You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to try to placate angry customers after days worth of outages.
So in the end I wasn't there to draft live, and now I'm likely screwed. I haven't even had the heart to check yet. I'm sure I've got a team full of Ricky Williams, David Boston and Marcel Shipp. With 16 teams in the league rebuilding off the waiver wire is going to be next to impossible, so I'm likely already out of contention for the season. Words cannot describe how angry I am right now. I spent literally hours of my life the past three weeks preparing for this draft, and to sit there last night at 8:30 watching crappy TV (no cable service for another month, another wonderful customer service nightmare I'm living) knowing I should be drafting was absolutely no fun at all.
