View Full Version : #@$%&*!!!!!

So last night I get home, have dinner, take a walk and around 8pm I go to log into Yahoo and prepare to draft this years Westwood Fantasy Football Championship Team only to discover...

...my DSL service is out again.

I call support and they tell me it's the same problem. They apparently fixed it for a few hours earlier in the day but as soon as everyone got home and hopped on the net their equipment went haywire again.

@#$%&*!!!!!!!

At this point I went off. It's going on a week since I've had internet access between the equipment failures on their end and them insisting I swap out a perfectly good Cisco 675 router for some crappy $20 Korean piece of crap that can't keep an IP address leased between sessions. I've been a customer for 6 years, which is thousands of dollars spent with them, and was one of the first home DSL subscribers for my area. I never had a problem until I move, now suddenly they can't do anything right.

I told the manager guy "If I told the people at work that their network was down, and I had guys trying to fix it 24/7, and I couldn't fix it in a week, I'd be fired. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't fire your company as my service provider." Of course he couldn't provide one other than offering me a lame ass credit for the outage. Idiots. You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to try to placate angry customers after days worth of outages.

So in the end I wasn't there to draft live, and now I'm likely screwed. I haven't even had the heart to check yet. I'm sure I've got a team full of Ricky Williams, David Boston and Marcel Shipp. With 16 teams in the league rebuilding off the waiver wire is going to be next to impossible, so I'm likely already out of contention for the season. Words cannot describe how angry I am right now. I spent literally hours of my life the past three weeks preparing for this draft, and to sit there last night at 8:30 watching crappy TV (no cable service for another month, another wonderful customer service nightmare I'm living) knowing I should be drafting was absolutely no fun at all.

Yeah you got hosed. Portis sucks. :D :P You even stole McGahee out from under me. Best autodraft of the night, BY FAR!

Well, just came back from checking the damage.

Shiz is right, the autopicker didn't do a half bad job for me considering I never changed the order of anyone thinking I'd be picking live. Portis and Davis are a decent duo at starting RB and Winslow is a great option at TE. I'm happy with Miami as my defense and Stover as my kicker. The only really weak picks were my recievers, not a stud in the bunch, and my QB (Maddux) is not on my list as someone I'd have chosen, especially as early as it picked him for me.

Still, receivers are a dime a dozen, and anyone that wants to trade me a starting QB for Maddux I'm very open to offers...

You may not have picked a stud wideout, but that's a very respectable crew to have. The round you picked Lloyd (was on a reverse round) was the round I was gunning for him. :) Yeah, SF may be bad this year, but Lloyd is pegged as their #1. Plus I would've loved Andre Johnson as my #1 or #2 wideout. Too bad that you're "stuck" with Johnnie...

If there is a WR I loathe more than Jonnie Morton I can't think of him at the moment.

Oh wait, yes I can. Tim Brown.

Thanks Ash. I'll be OK though I think. In looking at it more and more, I'm thinking my only real probelm is being stuck with a QB I hate because the auto picker waited until round 9 to draft me one (what the heck was that about?!). Other than that I can make do with some free agents and/or trades. It just makes my road to the Superbowl that much more challenging...
