Ok, starting the new week. My new opponent is Killer Wasp Drones:

Bulger v. Hasselbeck - Bulger should exploit a weak Atlanta defense, and Hasselbeck should have a hard day against TB. +5

Owens v. Toomer - I'm expecting the Phi/Min game to be a shootout, so I should again see a lot of points from TO. I just don't see Toomer and whichever QB plays against Washington making a lot of hookups. +5

Fitzgerald v. Branch - This will be an interesting matchup, since they're playing each other, so to speak. Fitzgerald will see some passes, but should be heavily covered all day. Got his feet wet last week, but can he pay off? -3

Barlow v. McAllister - 2 decent offenses, 2 questionable defenses in another head to head matchup game. McAllister should gain more, but both should have a good day. -2

Staley v. Jones - I don't expect Baltimore to drop 2 bad defensive games in a row, and I expect Staley to bear the brunt of their frustration. -4

Clark v. McMichael - McMichael should have another good day, since he's Miami's only other offensive option at this point. Clark and Pollard had only 1 catch between them in week 1 vs. NE, and that won't happen again, but that shouldn't be enough to equalize this matchup. -4

Wayne v. Brown - Brown is currently marked as DTD. As long as he plays, he should outscore Wayne. -3

Wilkins v. Andersen - Morten Andersen is the Keith Richards of the NFL. The only thing that will keep this from being a huge gainer for me will be the shootout of Phi/Min. +3

Seattle v. Baltimore - Seattle's defense is still an unknown in this equation. Only thing I'm certain of is Baltimore will score well this week. -4

I'm not expecting to come out on top in this one, but it should be a close scoring matchup. (-7 overall)

Brooks v Garcia - Both had pretty ugly week 1s. I have to give Brooks the matchup advantage. +5

Harrison v Moss - Tough call. Pennington was impressive. Both star WRs are due for a good week. Tenn has better secondary. -1

Warrick v Johnson - Chad always gets better looks. -5

Lewis v Johnson - I expect Pit to suffer some payback for Cleveland. +5

Duckett v Anderson - A wash.

Graham vs Williams - Williams had a bad game. Graham had a great game. I wouldn't be surprised to have that reversed a little, but NE is using TEs heavily. +2

Johnson v Griffin - I have to favor the RB over a WR on a team that doesn't throw well. -3

Vinatieri v Edinger - The Vinmeister! +1

Atlanta v Tampa - TB all the way. -3

+1 for me. I need Jamal to perform, but he probably won;t have his key blocker back yet.

Ooooh, hey.... that's my team matching up with Shiz. Interesting to have some commentary, as I sure don't have any myself.

Going against Kristen's team, VV this week. Ought to be interesting...

Pennington v Manning - SD secondary is better than advertised, but Tenn is better still. Edge: Penn

Javon Walker v Holt - Chicago should be a tougher D against the pass than Atl, so Edge: Holt

D Terrell v Darrell Jackson - Terrell is facing a relatively tough GB D (secondary-wise), while Jackson has an even tougher TB D to face. Edge: Terrell, tho' slightly; Grossman isn't exactly the same caliber QB as Hasselbeck.

Priest v Moe Williams - Star RB v mostly-goalline back, who wasn't used much last week. As long as O Smith remains unsuspended, Edge: clearly Priest

Dillon v Hollings - Dillon's running against Ari, while Hollings, the #2 back in Hou, is running against Det. Edge: Dillon

Johnson v Witten - Johnson surprised last week with 86yds and a touch, while Witten disappointed with not much. I think Johnson will do less, and Witten more. Edge: Push

Dayne v Marty Booker - Dayne looks to be the goal line back on a subpar offense, while Booker is the #3 option on a subpar offense. Edge: Dayne, only b/c RB usually edge out #2 WR options... Otherwise, Push

John Hall v Longwell - Who knows? Could be huge or nonexistent weeks. Edge: Push

Dallas v Jac - An embarassed Dallas D v a weak, underpowered Cle offense, or a strong Jac D v a high-powered run-first offense with good options at receiver... Edge: Push.

Not sure where that leaves the final score, but I'm looking forward to this week's contest! G'luck, Kristen! :)

I will have to skip this for Week 2 as I have a couple of lineup changes that are waiting for Saturday before becoming solid.

I'll just say that I like my chances this week given the defenses my "must start" players are up against. I sincerely hope that my opponent manages to login at some point and swap out Steve Smith and -empty- for players who will make it more interesting.
