So, without McNabb, my team was seriously limping this week with McNabb out on a bye. Luckily, I got a little from everyone which really helped a lot.
And would you look at the game Culpepper had? Sheesh! 5 TD passes! I'm jealous! :D

And I continue with my un-victorious season!
Ya have to wonder how long I can keep this up. ;)

I really should have lost this week. But then I'd be kicking ass and taking names if my receiver corps weren't absolutely worthless.

It starts to get difficult for me now. I wouldn't be surprised if I go 0-3 from here. Jamal is gone for 3 weeks. Stephen Davis is due back any week now. My starting QB is out on week 8, although my backup has been outperforming sometimes.

Had a fantastic week, scoring the 5th highest through Sunday's games, and with one more player to go... Unfortunately for me, was against Sera's Culpepper, so had no chance... Or do I? Er, no. Javon Walker had a huge week 2, with 11 rec for 200yd and 3 TDs, 1 fumble. WOuld require Walker to repeat, without the fumble but with an extra TD. And while that's possible, I'm not holding my breath. :) ... Or am I?
Seriously, my team is gaining momentum, and I should be going on a winning streak starting next week, given my matchups and... er ... erk

Is this thread from the future? Week 6 is next weekend...
As for Week 5, I'll pat myself on the back now for starting Meldwe Moore, I'll pretend to be amazed at A. Johnson's best game of the season so far, and I really will be amazed at Clinton Portis' continued struggles as a Redskin. I knew not to expect the kind of amazing numbers he had behind Denver's superior line, but I was hoping to get at least 12-15 points a game average out of him, instead I'm seeing about 8-9.
I will now kick myself for starting Antonio Bryant (I thought Dallas would pass a lot more this week, but they seem to have finally found a run game that works), and I will smack my forehead with great force for yet again trusting to Kerry Collins at QB. This is the guy I traded Derrick Mason for, because I beleived all the hype that all Oakland needed was a stronger arm to start the receiving corps on a non-stop TD marathon. Apparently the stronger arm also needs to be connected to an actual brain, as a second striaght 3INT outing killed me this week. Hell man, I personally scored more fantasy points than Collins did last week!
Finally, there is a distinct possibility (though it's far from certain at this point) that I could be among the teams at 4-1 come tomorrow morning. I find this amazing considering the fact that my point total for the season makes me look like I've already had two BYE weeks...
I expect a losing streak to commence soon, just not until after I beat Drax in Week 7...

I'm currently leading by two points. I have one guy left to play (Chris Brown). I have half a mind to bench him, so on the first play of the game he doesn't get tackled in the backfield, fumble and get hurt.

Wow, RE, looks like you've been beaten in the head as much as Collins has... Tho' I guess it's a possibility, you defeating me, given how half your team, and all of your stars (except for Collins) will be on BYE the week you face me... *coughs politely*
Heh, just for kicks, I'll do a quick analysis:
Week 7: Drax Destroying ... er, facing Wiggleless Warriors
QB: Pennington v Collins... Hmm, toughie. Penn goes against NE stout D while Collins goes against the grain by defeating himself. Edge: Penn.
WR: J Walker v Johnson - Walker against the secondaryless Boys, while Johnson on BYE week. Edge: Walker
WR: Stallworth v -empty- Stallworth takes on Oak's pass D, so he should manage middling yardage (70ish yds) and a TD. Edge: Stallworth
RB: Priest v Portis - Priest against Atl's overachieving D, while underachieving Portis gets to overachieve this week... from his couch on BYE week. Edge: Priest
RB: Correy Dillon v D Davis - Dillon takes on NYJ, while Davis tries to outdo Portis' numbers from a couch of his own (ie, BYE). Edge: Dillon
TE: Eric Johnson v Meier - Eric Johnson is on BYE week, so regardless of Meier's matchup, he gets the Edge as he actually plays. (Tho' it is a slight edge, given his whopping 9 receptions for the first four weeks, combined...)
WR/RB: Chester Taylor v Melwin Moore - Taylor against Buff, v Moore against Tenn. If Taylor plays, he'll do modestly but not well against Buffalo. Musa Smith has a fairly equal chance at playing, so who knows. Ditto for Moore, who may not even get a chance to play by that time, with a healthy Moe on his back... (Reminds me of a scene from Austin Powers 3 ... Hmm... :)) Edge: Push
K: Scobee v Stover - With Houston on BYE week, Scobee gets the box of Scobee snacks against Indy, while Stover feasts on Buff. With kickers not in the top 5, who knows? Edge: Push.
DEF: Denver v Miami - Denver gets Cinci (underperforming offense) while Miami gets the greatest show on turf (overachieving currently ... and this is coming from a Rams fan :)). Miami is a slightly better D than Denver, but the matchups dictate that the Miami D will get tired and give up a greater portion of points in the second half. Edge: Slight to Denver
So while it's great you have such a liberal team, RE, with so many BYEs in one lineup, it's pretty clear your "victory" against me will have to wait another year...

That is the best position by position FFL burn in history.

It's not my fault the Autopicker doesn't take into account BYE weeks when making it's misinformed choices. I think of it this way, it just makes beating you a real challenge this year instead of the relaxing weekend I usually have when up against Drax's Destroyers. :D
Besides, don't count your chickens, you never know who will get injured, arrested or suspended in the next two weeks, and that opens the door for unknown players to shine. Before this weekend, Meldwe Moore was just a kid my spell checker wanted to rename Mildew, but he proved he's breaking out of the "mold" with authority. Can the same be said for players like Dillon and Stallworth? Underacheivers Anonymous called, those two are supposed to bring the snacks and drinks to Tuesday's meeting...

Cool! I'll tell them to say hi to your whole team!

Well, I might still stand a chance tonight, although I need Favre and Green to both have 18-20 point weeks. It'd be nice if Franks could give me his usual fractional point effort as well, but he's been a huge disappointment this season. Of course, having my kicker take a powder on me didn't help matters any, but so it goes...

After a 2 week skid, I got a desperately needed win vs. Vercetti, if you can believe that. On a hunch, I started Harrington instead of Bulger because I thought Seattle's D would limit his numbers. Needless to say I lost about 50% of possible points in the QB slot.
Also, it figures that the week I get rid of Washington as my backup D, after weeks of humiliating defensive effort, they scored double digit fantasy points. Oh well, at least Seattle gave me positive fantasy points. Poor Kristin had to watch Jacksonville take points away.
Looking ahead to week 6, where I think I have 15 people on BYE... starting 2 RB from the same team. Oh well, shouldn't hurt me much more than the RB slots have been hurting already... :(
