I heard about this deal looming last night, tho' I cannot recall if it was on pre or post game ESPN, or on MNF itself. Plus, if what I've heard about a current Seattle WR is true, Rice will be making a bigger immediate impact than many think, I think. ;)

I heard that rumor about the Seattle WR as well, and think Rice could see some significant playing time in a couple of weeks. I think the big fantasy impact here is on Matt Hasselbeck, how many more people does this guy need to throw to? Even if Jerry doesn't start, he'll have a great leadership impact on the Seahawks WR corps and they'll only benefit from his experience.

You know Hasselbeck has to be thinking "I get to throw to Jerry Rice in an NFL game...how cool is my job?!"

It didn't seem to help Kerry Collins too much.

I have Rice on my roster. I'm not that optimistic. I will consider trades. I like peanut M&Ms.

Apparently a 7th round draft pick is about the same value as peanut M&Ms...

Heh, well I didn't say it would win the Seahawks any games. I just meant that it would likely be a thrill for any NFL QB to get to claim he threw an pass in a game ot the great Jerry Rice.

Personally, I think Rice should have retired at the end of last year. This season is not helping his image or his stats any.

A look at my picks, round 7 and below...

7 - Jerry Rice - has does a great job of keeping my bench warm.

8 - Travis Minor - unceremoniously released to pick up J. Sowell (RB - NYJ), also keeping my bench warm.

9 - Tyrone Calico - injured and released for Ken Dilger, who was subsequently released in favor of A. Bryant (WR - DAL).

10 - Kurt Warner - would have started for me this week because I was tired of the Micheal Vick experience, but he had a bye and Vick had a good week, so he continues to warm my bench as well.

11 - San Francisco defense - released in favor of the Houston defense

12 - A. Boldin - injured all season, but a potential return of this talented receiver keeps him on my bench.

13 - Amos Zeroueue - released for Steve Christie (K - BUF), he's turned in a few decent performances since his release but it's not likely he would have unseated Martin or Taylor in my lineup.

14 - Kordell Stewart - I draft him every year. It's an annual gag from his Pittsburgh days. He was released for D. Patten (WR - NE), who has been doing well for me in Rice's old starting flex position.

So yeah, anything beyond round 6 has been wasted for me except for my last pick (the last in the draft), which ended up eventually being Patten.
