So have anyone/everyone read the Tome of Destiny on the EQ2 site? I take it this explains what happened to the world and will explain why they gods aren't around anymore or that is what I am guessing from reading it. They all agreed to take a hands off approach to the world and let their Avatars represent them.

I you look at that tome, it seems as if after chapter 8, they decided they can't afford to pay the writer anymore, and told Joe the janitor to finish things up. Chapter 9 hacks up the pace, and pretty much chops things off. After several chapters of devloping the Ogre line, they are dispatched in a couple paragraphs. Avatar of Flame is thrown out without pre-story. Battle at Qeynos implausibly gets turned around by Brell. At Freeport, Avatar of Tranquil takes down Avatar of War, who for some weird reason wields Soulfire. And D'Lere, who did not appear in any previous chapters other than in an unflattering reference by Ogre leader, just rides up and grabs the Soulfire. And the monk who just beat AoW can't do squat about it. Talk about messing things up.

Not yet, but he is paying attention. Can't fault him for that.

Gotta uphold the title you bestowed upon me.

Someone has to offset you hordes of raving fanatics.

Well, the *environment* graphics (not the player/mob models) sure look great. Reminds me of Far Cry, actually.

I heard music is cool.

Far as that lore book, I'd say chapters 1-8 were real nice, even if they decided to chop EQ1 lore midway through PoP (the general consensus on EQ lore forum is that EQ2 story line is a 'what might have been if players could not defeat RZ and thwart his plans'). But chapter 9 is a total hackjob.

Oh, and looks like Woody is on my side.

I think Woody is just pointing out the facts.

I've found that if you want to like the game, you will. If you don't, you won't. It's pretty easy to see which side of the coin ppl here fall on.
