Woo! Thanks... Maybe I'll try and scare up two slot space for food/water instead of lugging around resources... :)

Thank you! This helps me a great deal, now I know that my cooking will be helpful, no matter what tier or quality grade.

Hmm, this looks like it doesn't matter what it is you make at each of the tiers. That means that steaks are as good as the more advanced foods that use steaks as components. I hope that isn't the case as it means that the other food are nothing more than color.

That is how it appears. A LOT of provisioners have been testing foods out and at this stage the harder items to make aren't any more effective than the easy single combine products of the same level. There are many changes to food coming up in future patches so hopefully they will offer something great for difficult multi-combine items. There is a large outcry for foods that give stats (as they have it in EQ1) so maybe soon we will see something along those lines. For now, don't bother with multi combine items unless you are trying to get rid of some food in your inventory or working the xp route.

I'm certainly interested in this food. I'll gather whatever you need for T1/2 foods... I usually harvest whenever I see something, and throw away the small stuff when inventory fills up.

Q: Anyone tried those alcoholic thingies to see if it affected our tolerances?

Is it like EQ1 where alcohol does NOT satiate one's thirst, or they made it where you can quench your thirst with that frosty brewski?

Gaelrond will be able to answer that soon since I just gave him two stacks of whiskey.

Booze in eq2 is just another drink. No drunk effects at all that I can tell.

And I TRIED!

Food and Drink Basics
By: Joe Russo

Food and drink are a very important part of adventuring; they supply additional health and power regeneration while outside of combat. Food effects health while drink affects power.

Being Hungry/Thirsty - Any time a character isn't currently under the influence of a food/drink effect (you can see these as icons on the right hand side of your screen) the character is hungry/thirsty.
Special Note: While food and drink are excellent ways to increase power and health regeneration, sitting will NOT increase power or health regeneration rates. This was changed late in beta and therefore in some places it will incorrectly state that sitting increases these pools.

Consuming Food/Drink

To consume food/drink you must first locate it in your inventory and right-click on it. When you do this you will be presented with two consumption options: "Eat/Drink Now" and "Eat/Drink When Hungry/Thirsty"

Eat/Drink Now - Selecting this option will consume the specified food/drink and apply its regeneration effect immediately. This will override any current food/drink effects that the character currently has.
Eat/Drink when Hungry/Thirsty - Selecting this option will consume the specified food/drink and apply its regeneration effect the next time the character is hungry/thirsty.
Stop Eating/Drinking - To halt the future consumption of food/drink you can use the commands /stopeating and /stopdrinking. This will prevent you from consuming food/drink when hungry/thirsty unless you choose the "Eat/Drink when Hungry/Thirsty" option again.
Food and Drink Specifics

When choosing the right food/drink for your character there are a few things to consider:

Food/Drink Level - Food/Drink Level is the primary factor that determines how much health/power the food/drink regenerates while outside of combat. Food/Drink levels typically appear in 10 level increments (10, 20, 30, 40, 50). It is important that the food/drink level is well matched for your character's level. As long as the food/drink level is close to equal or greater than your character's level you should be fine.

Level 10 - Supplies optimal regeneration for characters level 10 and lower.
Level 20 - Supplies optimal regeneration for characters level 20 and lower.
Level 30 - Supplies optimal regeneration for characters level 30 and lower.
Level 40 - Supplies optimal regeneration for characters level 40 and lower.
Level 50 - Supplies optimal regeneration for characters level 50 and lower.
Note - while lower level characters can consume higher level food/drink, the amount of regeneration it supplies will be capped by the character's level. Basically, don't wast money on food/drink that is too high level for you character, you won't get more regeneration out of it.

Food/Drink Duration - Food/Drink Duration tells you how long the particular food/drink will last.

Duration 30 - Food/Drink with a duration of 30 will supply its regeneration effect for 30 minutes real time.
Duration 60 - Food/Drink with a duration of 60 will supply its regeneration effect for 60 minutes real time.

Food/Drink Satiation - Food/Drink Satiation is the secondary factor that determines how much health/power the food/drink regenerates while outside of combat. Food/Drink Satiation can currently have one of four different values: Low, Normal, High, and Superior.

Low Satiation - Low Satiation food/drink will do in a pinch, but are not recommended for the prepared adventurer. This food/drink is typically supplied by priests with their summon food/drink spell.
Normal Satiation - Normal Satiation food/drink is the most common type. This food/drink is typically available on vendors throughout the world and is recognized as the standard for all food/drink. Normal Satiation food/drink supplies about 50% more regeneration than Low Satiation food/drink.
High Satiation - High Satiation food/drink is coveted by adventurers everywhere. This food/drink is typically supplied by other players as products of their trade. Provisioners specialize in producing High Satiation food/drink. High Satiation food/drink supplies about 100% more regenration that Low Satiation food/drink.
Superior Satiation - Superior Satiation food/drink is the highest standard in food/drink. This food/drink is typically only available as quest rewards. This food type is very hard to come by on a consistent basis so it is probably best to save it for a very important adventure. Superior Satiation food/drink supplies about 150% more regeneration than Low Satiation food/drink.
