Haven't weighed myself in like a month, but have been growing annoyed with how my belt/pants interface is working out since I've lost some weight... Am going to start hitting the treadmill tonight, and grabbed a pair of old shorts out of my newly arranged closet (I'm about to appropriate the recently vacated second one too, mwahahaha). Tried them on and they fit much better than most of my clothes... cuz they're a size smaller! (34)
Just for kicks I tried on an OLD pair of 32" shorts and can actually get into them easily too, though they are a bit snug. I'm proud of myself! I mean... more than usual!

Started my cardio tonight on the treadmill too, pretty modest start, 35 mins @ 4mph with a minor incline. Worked up a good sweat. Weighed myself on their ultra-nice digital scale afterwards... 176lbs! I thought for sure I was 185...

I usually stick to 15 min on the eliptical 5 nights a week, one night in the gym with the trainer doing weights and dynamics, and one night of rest.
I'm getting good results but i'm having to watch the cardio. I was loosing weight early on but I was losing muscle mass with the fat. Its evened out a little better as i've gone on though.

I've been battling the muscle loss thing by keeping my protein and carb intake up. All that cardio will eat your muscles if you don't fuel it a bit. You lose WEIGHT a bit slower, but your muscle mass stays up more. Overall, I still take in less calories than before I started (was 195-200lbs then) but they're better balanced. Basically trying to get my metabolism up and let that do the work. Muscle burns 35-40 calories per pound per day passively, while a pound of fat only burns about 2 calories. I'm not personally tooo focused on weight loss (I think the 170's is pretty "right" for my body type; long torso) but I'm more interested in fat % of body weight. However, some weight loss still feels like progress, I must admit. :wink1:

I've started swimming lately.
Go to the gym, work out, then to the pool to swim laps.
Christ, those fish make it look a lot easier than it actually is.

I try to get to the pool from time to time but it wears me out so quickly. I used to be able to swim lap after lap as a kid and never get tired. You'd think it'd be easier now because i'm more buoyant.

I like to swim but have absolutely NO style. That is, I never took lessons so don't know how to "properly" swim. I'm a natural cork so it was never an issue. I took ONE summer of lessons when I was 12 or so, but we never got to "technique" really.
