I was at Costco Monday and was getting cereal. I'm a Cherrio's guy and have gotten Joy into them. She was interested in Honey Nut Cherrio's to add some flavor. To humor her I comparied the nutrition info on the two cereals. For the same serving size Honey Nut has 10 calories more but 1.5g less of fat (2g vs .5g). How's that possible? I mean, what in the world could be in regular Cherrio's to add that 1.5g of fat that isn't in Honey Nut?

I have noticed that too but I have no explanation. You would think Honey Nut Cheerios = Cheerios + Honey Nut but apparently it is its own freakish formula.

Probably they had to tinker with the recipie after adding the honey and nuts and ended up removing a small portion of oil or something.

That's what I thought when I saw it... maybe they didn't need as much oil. Why? I can't really imagine.

Dang. I'm analyzing cereal now? Are we officially old yet?
