After doing a lil' more shopping about and buying a few things (never did get to clean up again) ... Go back to work tomorrow (24th) ... end of vacation, bleh...
SWG... hope the combat revamp makes good on what they propose...
As for EQ2 ... Went up to Zek, where we (Drae, Deep, Kullen, Ash, Zyzz) went about killing deers, bears and some foragers plus a few snakes...
Not much beyond that... Was a short day ... watched the Incredibles again... The 2nd disc at least... :lowlol:

We actually played EQ2 last night!
We logged in but decided to focus on quests and getting our skills back into shape rather than jump into writs. We found Cove of Decay, finished a couple quests in TS, had some good fights, shook off the rust...only stayed in game for a couple hours but it was fun. :)
This morning, Carol is sick again.
She ate more of the Turkey.
She now agrees that "empirical evidence would suggest that the turkey is unsafe".

That turkey must look delicious.
We watched part of a documentary called Fog of War. It is basically an interview with Robert McNamara, Sec Def during JFK and Johnson, about how some decisions were made during the early Cold War and Vietnam era. Compelling and sobering. It really brings home how close we came to Global Thermonuclear War during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I didn't know that there were already warheads on Cuba at the time the missiles arrived. I also didn't know that Castro admitted to McNamara in 1992 that he had recommended using them to Krushchev (sp?) if the US attacked. Castro admitted that he made the recommendation KNOWING it would mean annihilation for Cuba. Scary stuff, even in retrospect.
I was riveted but Kris zonked out on my shoulder after 90 minutes so we went to bed.

_____BARF WARS______
Episode 3 : Revenge of the Turkey
Not so long ago, in a state not far away,
a turkey returns form the grave to enact
ultimate vengence against those who ate it...
That's one mean ass turkey. Hope you feel better soon Caylor.
Last night I felt pretty sick from a bad cold I've had (no turkeys involved) so I planned to simply hop on and see what was up for Writ night and log early. Nobody in the 25-30 range was doing anything, so Murgos and I teamed up to try and knock out some TS quests.
We made much progress on several small quests. At one point, a monk asked if he could join us to get Enduring Breath for corpse retrieval out in the ocean. I gave him Water Spirit, which is EB plus an AC boost. After the CR, he pulled many sirens and griffons for us and the xp flowed a bit. I tacked on 13% in just a few minutes of fighting, and the griffons dropped a couple things I needed to advance quests. A 30th Bard then asked to join for the same reason (CR and needed EB). I was flashing back to the days of "SoW for Donation" in EQ1.
Both Murgos and I had to go fairly early. We tried to spawn some mob the monk needed for a quest, but he was unsuccessful in making it appear until AFTER Murgos and I gated back to Qeynos, then the poor guy discovered he could not handle it solo. I went into merchant mode and made 4gp and change overnight.
Despite killing several gnolls early on in the evening, neither Murgos nor I received any sort of message pertaining to the Gnoll Lore quest. We both need the Gnoll Spirit, and even with the quest active in my window it was not saying "You did not find any quest items" when gnolls would die. I think we both may be bugged.

lol, classic science fiction there =)
worked chesster a bit more, he's got lots of armor and weapons and stuff. ferget how chest drops go way up on scouts and since he still solos everything he's getting all kinds of phat lewt fer lvl 12.
switched to marl for an hour and swatted bugs in TS for trapper borgus, boring as hell, and then finally landed deep in what appeared tobe the only writ group goin last night. but being absent evenings lately, it was good to see many of the old crew and stumble around zek for a few. got three writs done so that's not a bad thing either.
we also went into the northern corner of zek finally which was great, got some nice snaps of it i'll post later. we went there to get the general for those doing feerot access, which i believe was their last step. but it was also occaision to slaughter many upper 30s mobs, even some duos of 38^^'s which was quite rewarding.
the ski company/video crew is spending the night tonight before heading out for the weekend so i may not be on tonight, buti plan to hang out during the day a bit.

We played the evils again last night. Caliely is now 13 and Dahren is now 14. We're having some fun with these guys. Completed a bunch of quests, some minor, some not-so-minor, and I discovered just how soloable, at 13 at least, a mage/summoner is. At some point in the evening, Chesster had a spare pet adept which he mailed to Serani for me and I upgraded my pet to a spider. I absolutely love that it's white to me (and apparently will stay that way for a while), but I hate spiders. I just try not to look at it too much while I play. Does make me want to grind to my new pet, though (I think that's 23, but I can't remember). But a definate THANKS! to Chesster for the upgrade.
Dahren sold an adept somethingorother overnight for 2g, so we're doing a bit better money-wise than we were. (Serani had donated most of her gold to the kids.)
We have King Arthur on DVD so we probably won't be in game again until Saturday (tomorrow is the Geek Night season finale for SG1 and Atlantis).

I wound up working much later than I expected to last night - it was 10pm EST before I logged on EQ2. I wound up joining the aforementioned Zek group to help some of the 30-somethings with their writs and Feerrott access. I manages to finish one quest there, and received a warhammer that'll be a nice upgrade once I hit level 30 (it's red for me now).
Tonight (assuming I don't have to work late again), I'll be playing EQ1. IVD is planning a raid against Rallos Zek - Sanmaren needs that flag for Elemental Planes access.

Played GT4 again. I gotta get rid of this game. I was up way too late again.
Finished the test for the 1A license and worked on the last license course. Also beefed up my Toyota MR2 Spider. It can hold its own with the big dogs now.
Caylor, it is time to let the turkey go... :tongue1:

Didn't play any yesterday but did watch some CSI (love that show) and some crazy show I think it was "MXP" or something like thaton Spike TV. It appears to be a Japanese game show dubbed over by american actors. It was strangely amusing, enough so that I watched 2 episodes before going to bed.

I friend loaned me that on DVD some time ago. I thought it was fascinating (and scary). I picked it up for some trivial amount on VCD in Singapore airport last year - it was worth rewatching.
Whatever you think of his politics, McNamara was a very bright cookie and is well worth listening to, especially as his views have "mellowed" over the years and he does not blindly defend the decisions he made/participated in during his time in power.

Logged in last night and took Knemo into Nek again. Found some green shadowed men (yay). took on 2 22^'s ... killed one, ran from the other :o Then went back and killed the second.
So I tried the 3 22's ... I HATE HEALERS~!!! GAH. Had one down to like 12% health, but he got healed back up and then all three started blasting away at me :( Wizard-Clerics SUCKETH!
Did a bit more running-around stuff in Nek, then went off to TS where I tried to finish a couple quests to kill stuff in the dry riverbed. Some was 20^^, some was 22^^. the 20's were slow, the 22's aggroed occasionally to beat me senseless :o
So I decided to run the TS portion of Journey is Half the Fun, but spend four minutes or something swimming around trying to find the sirens shrine. Decided to hit the shipwreck for Hadden's update (now I need Everling or whatever), octopus spawns and breaks my sneak so I get all kinds of agg ... die. DEFINITELY not making the TS run at this point :o
Get back, get my body, run around for a couple other things, then try the run again. Managed to find the shrine this time, barely made it out of the water ... since it turns out the credit only comes from the base of the ramp on the far side of the shrine. Oi. Got away from them finally. Kept going, shrine of decay, look giants agg! look gnoll agg! ran the gnolls from decay to coldwind to dead pool before evacing back to finish with a minute and a half left :o Ow.
Got back to town, picked up some new food (I'm actually using cheesy store bought drink right now, so I don't feel bad using it up; food I only use when I'm fighting ... or running from big painful trains in TS apparently :o)

Logged in last night and found I'm still too small to help with Writ Wednesdays (Hey I finally made level 25!).
I ran around and took care of some run to point A and return quests. I got the find the entrance to RoV quest so I'll need to work on that sometime.
I was about to set Murgos up as a vendor when I heard Slante enter, and we decided to head to TS to see what quests we could finish/advance. Had a great time even with a death or two in the mix. I finished at least one quest and advanced a bunch. I'm not sure how many Slainte finished. We met a non guildie who joined us for a while. I would have played longer but it was well past my bedtime.
I plan to play tonight.

Logged in late last night after my guitar lesson. Was planning on playng some, but I discovered that all of my drink had sold, so I needed to make a batch for my own use. Did that while watching "The Last Samurai" again.
Once I'd used up my stock of drink ingredients, I headed out to start the Cauldron Hollow access quest. We need to go into CH to kill one of the mobs for the Ghoulbane heritage quest. Got as far as needing to kill the fairy queen and discovered that even though she's grey I can't solo her. Between her and her attendants there are just too many spells being thrown at me.

Hey attriel, I need shadowed men as well. If I'm on tonight perhaps we could get a group going.
Anyway, I worked a lot more on my class project. about 1/2 way done, and it's not due till monday. Should be able to coast from here since I know about how much I need to do each night to get it finished. Logged on Taurel for a bit last night and soloed some in zek. I'm often surprised at how well druids solo. Huge difference from Aonn who had it handed to her by greys a lot of times. Played for a bit this morning and dinged 29.
Neph had some friends over and they were discussing the next maya project, an animated short. I so wish I was doing maya right now... it sounds really fun.

Played some WoW. My wife graciously played my character some during the day, so I almost had 24 when I logged in last night. She was trying to do a quest that was a little out of my league at level 23. I kept dying, and it didn't help that the server was acting wonky either. It kept booting people off en masse, until enough people gave up that the realm was stable again. Perserverence pays off, my friends! I got level 24 and got my new spells and new feral abilities. This morning I made the trek from the Crossroads to Gadetzan just for the hell of it and picked up from exp from delivery quests and just exploring new areas (that were way too high-level for me!)

Did a bit of private consulting for a local firm... their Cisco 2600 router (nexus for various networks and internet) is dropping a lot of packets from the input queue. Cleaned up a couple of things (disabling CDP for one) and their overall performance seems better today, but they're still encountering input queue drops (duplex/speed are config'd right, according to their ISP, even though CDP was complaining about duplex settings). Anyway, since their CPU doesn't seem to be working too hard, we might try upping their input queues for that internet interface to 150 from 75 tonight, to see if it makes a diff (interface is usually at 1/75, so I think the traffic is "spikey", not constant).
Network troubleshooting is fun, but it sucks when there are so many contributing factors... AND you can't take the router down because it's their only production link to the net (and their customers).
Went home and did my ab/back workout. Forgot to eat dinner beforehand and all I'd had all day was a sandwich at lunch so I started to really crash halfway through and had to scarf some "cheap" carbs to keep going.
Crashed at 11:30 or so after chatting and checking my forums.

MXC. It's a favorite on here as it is the funniest show of all time. Well, maybe not THE funniest, but its in the top ten.
Was in the writ group. Many a writ was completed (I managed to get three done). All in all, a very good day of killing.
I hope I wasn't too strident in the "now we go here, now we kill this, pull chari, get the deer, get the bears" etc.
When I'm grouped I tend to be like a (more) pyscho version Alec Baldwin at the begining of Glengarry Glenn Ross. "You wanna work here, KILL! A.B.K. Always Be Killing. ALWAYS Be Killing!"

Definitely. I remember watch undubbed Takeshi's Castle years ago and laughed my butt off even though I couldn't understand a word. Usually cheesy dubbing makes a show... well... cheesy. But with Vic'n'Kenny in MXC, the cheese factor is somehow positive. Fantastic show. The cuts to Vic'n'Ken when something amazing just happened and they're totally unresponsive, staring at nothing, kill me.

I prefer the non-stop action as well, especially when I'm the tank or puller. My cleric on EQ1 doesn't mind it either - as long as:
a) he has C5
b) the puller/tank allows for quick heals between battles

The monk Murgos and I grouped with last night had the SHIZ mentality. When pulling sirens he'd pull TWO groups of 3 at the same time. Even better, at one point he managed to pull or aggro about a half dozen Griffons/Griffawns in a single battle. At the end all of us were OOM and at half health or less, but we got some mondo xp out of it. :lowlol:

chain pulling is always appreciated as long as the group (or more specfically the healers) have enough power. If they don't and you die, it's your fault ;). Haven't had that problem with any LoWers though. Biggest problem is trying to buff shiz as he runs off...
me: "buffing"
nitz: "pulling"

me: "buffing"

going to make a "NITZ, STOP!" macro and put it on my hotbar.

Ok, recap of last three days. Was sick...still am but at work and on antibotics...
- Made 31st
- Finished two Zek Writs (Miners and Catapolters)
- Finished couple old TS quests. Two by helping pick up group with Giants and finally completed Starmace...Starhammer? Whatever... :)
- Did alot of selling/buying of stuff off broker and fence and made money and spent it just as fast! :) I am now up to 15 future Adept I's, which I will need in my stockpile as well as set up selling other stuff today.
- This morning tried out the quick ticket to Zek and joined up with Taurel killing orcs. Also picked up another orc tombstone (one to go). Then went to doc to get ok to return to work. Oh, and before this tried to invis my way to shield heritage quest giver but too much could still see through my invis at 31. Got to one gate where there where two guards that could see through it and couldn't go any farther. Then stumpled onto cave asps that could also see through and died. Got shard and it was then I joined up with Taurel. At least I now know where cave asps are for couch shell quest! :)

Get it at beginning of dock in QH but it costs 60s to goto either EL or Zek once and you have to use ticket before you zone or log.

That show reminds me of Iron Chef, except even funnier! Somehow people running around in crazy costumes traversing almost impossible obstacle courses, is funny. I'm still a bit confused as to what the overall concept of the game is, it appears there is more going on than just the stunts. Why are all those people gathered on the sidelines? Contestant hopefuls? Minions?

my ORPG days seem over. Never say never, but I will say most likely not.
I was poised to eat my words from 9months ago, by installing and actually playing EQ (the first one) again. I had been feeling the itch for a while now, and last night would've possibly been the time to play. Unfortunately, as posted in another thread, things didn't work out to accommodate my plans. So instead of installing and playing EQ, I gladly spent my time waiting on Becky. Also get to save money towards a new car.
It was in our plans to replace my car (118000+ miles on it) in a year, then replace Becky's car (92000+) in 3-4yrs, if it were to last that long... Well, that plan's gone up in smoke or, as it were, airbag chalk.
One fun thing that, before yesterday, I hadn't done in quite a while... We watched Disney's Beauty and the Beast, at Becky's request, while the medication was taking effect the first time. She fell asleep fairly early in the movie, when Beast is telling Belle to "Get Owwt," Ahnold Schwartzenheimer style.

Got on EQ2 as Patyric. He got level 10 and made bard. Woo! And Chesster (Deepfred) gave me a monk Adept 1 for Pats. Then I swapped to Pats and joined the Zek team for writ Wednesday. Please note that when you buy the ticket to Zek or EL you must use it before you zone or camp. I thought it was just camp...so I lost out on 60s. Bah.
I wasn't on long enough to finish any writs as I had to log when the fiancee got home and Kelli joined the Zek team to replace me. Then Joy and I had dinner and watched the rest of The Shield and Survivor.
Dunno how much I'll play tonight as b-ball's on.
