Got a huge cramp in one of my neck/back muscles while at work yesterday. At home Joy massaged it and I stretched it to no avail so it kept me up most the night. Figured I'd just get up and start working. Early to rise = early to weekend.

DNP. Watched b-ball. WFH today. TTFN.

No work today. Played in CoB with Slainte and Murgos until a bit after 10pm. Got an INCREDIBLE drop from Ragnar - a min level 33 helmet. The mob is now green^^ to me. Is there a loot table bug?

When Slainte and Murgos logged, I did too. Not much was going on.

DNP EQ2 or SWG... Ended up watching Star Wars: Clone Wars (the cartoon series) online (eps 1-25) ... Not too bad.

Also watched eps 1-2 of the Pretender. Seems like they have "preview" DVDs of your favorite series before buying the box set.

And working on feedbacks on eBay that I haven't done. Ooops.

Green and above will yield drops--grey mobs won't ;)

DNP last night. Watched King Arthur on DVD from Walmart. Excellent movie.

Tonight is Geek Night, though we might pop on for a bit before it starts. Dunno for sure.

Logged on long enough to make Fir Stave for Winduforce. Crashed early. Was flying last night for the first time since December and was tired. :)

Played a little WoW after looking at a coding problem for a friend. Played my Warlock alt. She got her VoidWalker pet. I can't wait to field test him! Logged out after I was done getting the new pet.

That was it for me.

Watched U0fL kick the crap out of Washington.

Logged in. Killed some sullon lumberjacks (and they're okay). Dinged to 36.

Me and Kullen conned a group of Lows into helping us do the feerott boatride. First attempted failed in about 30 seconds cause we let the dwarf get killed.

Went to Zek and finished writs for 25 minutes while the timer ran out.

Second atempt was successful, albiet barely. The last party member died just as the dwarf cast his spell. I saw "KUullen has benn killed by a mob" and "QUEST COMPLETED" at the same time.

The ferrott boatride is really easy though.

DNP. I wound up working 14 hours yesterday - got home just in time to see the last five minutes of the Arizona/Oklahoma State game. I logged on EQ1 long ehough to apologize for missing the raid against Rallos Zek, then downloaded the 60 MB WoW patch. Afterwards, it was off to bed (without dinner).

Logged in last night and found EQ2 very quiet. Was setting up as a vendor when Nitz and Slainte logged in! Decided to work on CoB related quests. Was my first time in CoB and was a blast.

Nitz - I swear I was using /assist to pick targets. I think for some reason I ended up on the wrong targets a few times, I wasn't doing it on purpose I swear.

When I log in tonight I'm going to look at what 2H weapons I can pick up for Murgos. Seems he needs to become more flexible.

Anyway, it was a great adventure and again I wished I could have stayed longer. I put Murgos up as vendor planning to shut EQ down when I was ready to sleep and passed out before I could. But I did sell two items over night!

Played a bit on Druid in EQ1 after several episodes of CSI. There is something zen-like when soloing a druid. Establish control of mob, dot, nuke, re-establish control of mob, rinse, repeat. Kind of fun, except for the downtime.

Got home last night to a pleasent surprise.... 75g in vender sales! That puts me at 5pp in total sales and nearly 1pp in the bank! :) Then later joined up with Ash, Draek, Crim, Kullen, and Taurel for what Asharad discribed. Other than his "easy" was a TPW... Finish one of my writs and started into another and also found the last orc tomestone I needed. Ended the night at the fence "blowing" 20g on future spells and stuff to resell. Hopefully the resale stuff will nearly cover that full amount.

Yes, but should mobs be dropping items 10 levels higher than themselves? A level 23^^ dropped a level 33-39 helm. I have killed Ragnar many times and he never dropped anything that high before.

They did say when they changed the loot tables for solo and small group encounters that there would be a rare chance for them to drop loot well above their actual level, I'm thinking that's what happened.

As mentioned, it was CoB fun for the evening. I was really impressed by the swath a pair of melees and a shaman could cut through groups of mobs that were yellow to me (white to Nitz). We even took down some named Minotaur (was OOM and watching Nitz health fall at the end of the battle) which was a very cool battle. Off the same named Nitz's helm came from I got a Carbonite Brigandine Mail that was labeled Treasured and had stats to go with the AC. I'm pretty sure it's an upgrade for me, but didn't remember to check in all the excitement.

I know that sounds funny, but you have to understand that as a healer in a Shiz-led group you seriously DO NOT have time to concentrate on anything but the next incoming mob or what the crazy pointy-haired maniac is doing next. He's defintely got the supercharged playstyle to match that hair!

Great night overall, lots of fun loot, a ton of xp for a three man group (now over 60% into 25th) and everything we killed seemed like it was counting towards one quest or another. I'm most of the way through AQ4 and partway through the Hive access thanks to last night.

First off, Becky's doing okay. Like Wed afternoon and evening, she slept most of Thursday away, which I found out after talking to her doctor Thurs afternoon, was likely caused by the flexiril more than the vicodin, but both were inducing drowsiness. So I basically called her when it was time for her to eat and then take her medicine (around 2pm), and was home by the time of her third dose. Before heading home, tho' ...

I had a genuine treat last night. Got to eat dinner with and meet Gaulron, Zoldan, and Straxus. Met them at Growler's, and had a lot of fun. Was a bit uncertain how things would go, and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was. All three were somewhat what I expected and somewhat not. :) Best part of it was that it was like meeting old friends not seen in a couple years (or ever :lowlol:). I was totally myself, and we caught up on RL things, since we know most about each other anyway. Was kinda surreal, and very cool.

With the whole car situation this week, it put into doubt the possibility of heading out to Colorado in July given the kabosh it'll put onto frivolous spending... However, last night gave me little doubt that we'll do our best to head out west.

On a last note ... obviously there is a split between the WoW and EQ2 factions here. However, I'm considering picking up one of those games. I know WoW is more casual-gamer-friendly. How is EQ2 in that regard? And being so much behind everyone in EQ2, will that hinder me from advancing or make it harder on me or you guys if I were to join the guild? I know Sanman joined up a bit after the curve, and he would be significantly ahead of beginner me... Finally, does anyone play either WoW or EQ2 using a dial-up connection? I'll hopefully have DSL come summer time, but right now I'm limited to just dial-up. The connection is rock-solid. I even accidentally tried making an outgoing phone call a couple nights ago while online, and it didn't kick me off. Shocked me quite a bit. :) Thanks for any advice/opinions!

To clarify... I picked up EQ2 at launch, and got to level 16 before having to go on a two-month hiatus due to PC problems. I wasn't that far behind the power curve when I returned; it took only a couple weeks to catch up with the casual players among the LoW (meaning the 2-3 times a week folks). EQ2 is basically solo-only up to level 10 (except for one quest on the newbie island). With the recent patch that added mentoring, I'm sure there would be no problem grouping with us there.

Yeah, WoW is a bit more friendly for the casual gamer, especially once you get into the middle levels. There are still times when you need to be in a group though (for instance, when fighting "elite" beasts).

LoW does not have an official presence in WoW. We do have some people playing it; some have joined an Alliance guild on the Bloodhoof server there. My understanding is that guild has now imposed a minimum level requirement, thus making that option unavailable.

I'll let those who have tried playing on a dial-up connection comment on that aspect. I'd think that you'd really want a broadband connection though - some of those patches can be murder! For instance, I downloaded the latest WoW patch last night.... 60 MB. That's three hours on a good 56K connection! I don't know anything about those "enhanced dial-up" services that allow for faster downloads.

And some of us in EQ2 have CNCS so there's always potential for someone in the guild to be on and of your level.

Hey Drax,

Only can speak from EQ2 experience but I would say EQ2 isn't as casual gaming friendly. However, I am not sure I would like WoW as it might be a bit too casual gamer for me...that just being my oppinion. I myself play EQ2 via dial-up with little problem as far as that goes.

I hope you enjoyed Growlers. That was one of Stax and my favorite hang outs when I was living up there.

Otherwise last night Ash and SG covered most of what I did. That boatride was freaky. I saw the message you have died, and right after that the spell was complete, quest updated. Got access by a hair.

I have friends in town this easter weekend so I don't know how much play time i'll have. If I don't get to see ya, Have a happy Easter. :D

Durnit... I have got to get back to STL sometime, if only for an extended weekend. Been way too long since I've seen those guys, and the chance to meet this Drax guy too. ;)

Any chance any of you STL guys going to make the trip down to Indy for GenCon this summer? (August)

If Becky and I can make it to Colorado in July, I seriously doubt it. Can only afford one extended weekend per year, unless the lotto favors us (especially since we don't buy tickets :lowlol: )

If we don't go to CO, tho', then maybe... Maybe we'll head to Cedar Rapids and hit Indy on the way to/from...

Yeah Raveneye some of us will probably try and go. I am going to try and save some money and get those days off.

Cool. I'm registered for SAT/SUN already and will be heading down with Nonsequitor (former LoW Horizons player, current WoW player, and real life good friend). I've been the last two years since it came to Indy, since I only live 90 minutes away. It would be good to meet some LoW bretheren at the con.
