These change throughout your life. What's your current anthem? Trivia: Adam Cohen, the Low Millions front-man, is the son of Canadian poet Leonard Cohen.

"Eleanor" by Low Millions

Fine, I understand.
Okay with me,
If that's the plan.
You can take the stereo,
tv and the video,
and pack the sheets and pillows, before you go.
But for now, unlock the door.
What are we doing all this for?
Let me make you dinner one last time,
then you'll go your way and I'll go mine.

And I won't call you baby anymore.
Won't call you baby like I did before.
Won't call you baby anymore, Eleanor.

You left your smell, you left your taste.
You left me here with my mistakes.
And I can't relate to what you say I've done,
but just for you, I'll bite my tongue.

And I won't call you baby anymore.
Won't call you baby like I did before.
Won't call you baby anymore.

Eleanor I miss you.
Eleanor be well.
Eleanor I wish you'd release me from your spell.
Come on!
Eleanor!
Do it!
You can! Do it!

And I can't call you baby anymore.
Won't call you baby like I did before.
Won't call you baby anymore.
No, I can't call you baby anymore.
Won't call you baby like I did before.
Won't call you baby anymore, Eleanor.

Mine is and shall forever be Behind Blue Eyes by the Who (and may Fred Durst rot in Hell for massacreing the cover).

No one knows what it's like

To be the bad man

To be the sad man

Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like

To be hated

To be fated

To telling only lies

But my dreams

They aren't as empty

As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely

My love is vengeance

That's never free

No one knows what it's like

To feel these feelings

Like I do

And I blame you

No one bites back as hard

On their anger

None of my pain and woe

Can show through

But my dreams

They aren't as empty

As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely

My love is vengeance

That's never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open

Before I use it and lose my cool

When I smile, tell me some bad news

Before I laugh and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil

Put your finger down my throat

If I shiver, please give me a blanket

Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it's like

To be the bad man

To be the sad man

Behind blue eyes

Mine is and shall forever be Behind Blue Eyes by the Who

One of the best songs ever written, in my opinion.

Behind Blue Eyes is an awesome song.

Mine, for the longest time, was "Here With Me" by Dido from the same album that "Thank You" was released from. Doesn't apply anymore (and didn't completely when it WAS mine), but I haven't had a new song really hit me since then. That song, though I'm an emotional person to begin with, could send me into tears (or push me over the edge if I was close) just with the introductory few bars.

Hey, gimme a break, I'm a chick.

Peter Gabriel - Signal to Noise

you know the way that things go
when what you fight for starts to fall
and in that fuzzy picture
the writing stands out on the wall
so clearly on the wall

send out the signals deep and loud

and in this place, can you reassure me
with a touch, a smile - while the cradle's burning
all the while the world is turning to noise
oh the more that it's surrounding us
the more that it destroys
turn up the signal
wipe out the noise

send out the signals deep and loud

man i'm losing sound and sight
of all those who can tell me wrong from right
when all things beautiful and bright
sink in the night
yet there's still something in my heart
that can find a way
to make a start
to turn up the signal
wipe out the noise

you know that's it
receive and transmit

Hey,

'I Must Have Been Blind" by Tim Buckley, my favorite version done by This Mortal Coil
--------------

I Must Have Been Blind

Here I am believin' words again
Here I am tryin' to find your love again
Here I am down on my knees again
Prayin' for a love
That we used to know

Both of us know
How hard it is to love
And let it go
Both of us know
How hard it is to go on living that way
When so few understand what it means
To fall in love
And so few know how hard it is to live without it
I must have been blind
I must have been blind
Lord, I must have been blind

To hold something real
And not believe it
To live in her life
And never trustin'
To give all you know and never feel it
To hold back each day
Until it dies away

Both of us know
How hard it is to love
And let it go
Both of us know
How hard it is to go on
Living that way
When so few understand what it means
To fall in love
And so few know how hard it is to live without it
I must have been blind
I must have been blind
Lord, I must have been blind

Pink Floyd - Time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Mine change all the time, but two that remain timeless for me are:

"Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - U2 from Joshua Tree

and

"Ring of Fire" - by the immortal man in black, Johnny Cash
I also really like the remake done by Social Distortion a few years back.
