Name: Westwood

Password: low

Issues:

1) Teams set to 12 right now. I would like avoid to more than 14 and only expand it to 14 if someone feels strongly.

2) Playoffs are 6 teams, weeks 14-16. Week 17 was such a mess last season with quality players getting benched, I figured we would give this a try.

3) Do we want to reward kickoff/punt returns on a player basis or make it a defense stat? My opinion is the former. Not sure what an Offensive Fumble Recovery TD is. Sounds like it should be a defensive stat.

4) Reception points 0.25 instead of last year's 0.30.

5) Passing points 20yds increment and Rushing/Receiving/Returning points 15yds increment. This would continue to over-emphasize TDs versus standard rules, which I have grown to like, without getting extreme about it. Default was 50/30.

Just a note for clarification:
When joining the league, use League ID 8816 and password low. Kept trying to use Westwood which, of course, is the Name and not the ID. :lowlol:

3) Do we want to reward kickoff/punt returns on a player basis or make it a defense stat? My opinion is the former.
I really don't care either way, but I prefer defensive, just b/c it's more universal. Tho' I guess it'd be nice to reward someone actually starting Dante Hall at WR... :)

5) Passing points 20yds increment and Rushing/Receiving/Returning points 15yds increment. This would continue to over-emphasize TDs versus standard rules, which I have grown to like, without getting extreme about it. Default was 50/30.
I'm fine with these, but Returning yrds at 15yd per point will be something new. In the only league (1 league, 1 season only) that rewarded return yds, it was like 50yd/point, and that went merely okay... Nothing too major here, tho'.

Will look over the rules soon, no time now.

Heh, okay... Looked at the rules... :! :lowlol:

First, I suggest making it a 6person bench as opposed to 5, especially if return men get to contribute to the scores.

Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1)
Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)
I think this should be -4 for 28-34 points allowed and -7 for 35+, just b/c giving up 34 points in a game, but only losing 1 point seems a bit too relaxed for my tastes, but will, of course, abide by the league majority ruling.

Note to self: Michael Vick is evil. Stay far, far away.

Hey, just because he's a crackhead who's massively overrated is no reason to say he's evil. I think you should go ahead and pick him number 1.

Erudite

Heh. He can give you some stupidly unreal fantasy scores. He's 40+ points of potential every week. The problem (as I discovered last year, much to my chagrin) is that every 40-point performance is sandwiched between two or three 2-point performances. :lowsad:

If we only get 10 teams, I propose 2QBs in the lineups.

I'm actually against this. I'd rather 1 QB and maybe giving each team 3WR, 2RB, 1TE and 1 WR/RB flex slot, so that the playing field is significantly more even.

If folks think the WR/RB flex slot is too "powerful," we can make it into a fourth WR slot. But in any case, I think starting two QBs at our current rules would be too much.

Unless we wanted to make passing TD's 4pts each, then I'd be more okay with it...

I liked the tried and true lineup of QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-WR/RB-TE-DEF-K
Having the option to start either a wideout or a running back in your flex slot gave you lots more options on the waiver wire and when you had BYE weeks.

Ok RE. I will change it before we get going.

Ok RE. I will change it before we get going.

Only change it if others feel the same way, I don't want to force my paticular preference on 11 other people. I can survive having 2RBs and 3WRs.

Erudite

I have no preference either way. It's occasionally nice to have the flexibiltiy, but even mediocre running backs tend to get snapped up quickly so I almost always end up using a receiver in the flex spot anyway.

I'm very cool with this.

Also what is the verdict on the return yards issue?

Also what is the verdict on the return yards issue?

Right now, there are no points for return yds and any TDs count for the defense. We can also count TDs/yds on a player specific basis, but after further thought I didn't want to ding defense.

BTW, who hasn't signed up yet?

Rubi, Kristin, ??

There are 3 spots open for an decenbt league of 10. 12 is optimal, but only if the 12 are semi-active at worst.

Drax

Rubi, Kristin, Asharad, maybe Thuriniel (if anyone knows how to contact him...; he always seems interested in joining, but didn't last year due to time), Sagar, Lycos... That's all of the "regulars" I can think of, off the top of my noggin...

Drax

Shiz, one more change for you... I think you gave our league a Wide Receiver/ Returnman slot, not a WR/RB slot... :) May want to check that.

Shiz
24th June 2005, 03:40 PM
I checked. It is WR/RB. There isn't a WR/Returnman option.

Okay. In the column, it said WR/R, so it had me concerned. Heh. :lowlol:

I don't care what the rules are as long as they don't change at some point, so I can adjust my draft accordingly.

Poopy. I just realized this is the day they're supposed to move my DSL access. I may find myself drafting from a coffeeshop down the street. Maybe I ought to take a page from Raveneye's book and let the auto-draft work. :P

I need to start doing some research.

Drax

Yeah, I realized within the last couple weeks that I will most likely be missing the draft, as I have practice. We'll see...

Oh noes...potentially two autodrafts?! The rest of us are doomed, doomed I say!

Raveneye

My forced autodraft last year wasn't so groovy. I forget who it was, but someone the year before that autodrafted a team that was in the Top 3 all season long. There is some method to the madness...

That was Necro. Er, had the dog for an icon. Cannot remember the whole name. (If his name was Necrodog... *sigh*)

Gah, the oldtimers disease (as my dad calls it) is getting to me... :lowlol:

Two or three years ago. Either the first one off the tavern or the second, can't remember which. But yeah, he was in the league that year.

No, but like Serani said, he was a couple years ago, and I am quite sure he autodrafted and maintained a high slot for most of the season. His team had, I recall quite well, Jamal Lewis en route to his monstrous yardage season.

Yeah. It was entirely frustrating getting the snot kicked out of me by a guy that rarely (if ever) showed up to manage his team. :lowrazz:
