Lesse here.
Went out to the gym last night, 10 minutes on the elliptical then did my weights routine. Then went ahead and did it a second time (for a second set:o) before hitting the rowing machine for some post-cardio.
Except afte rall the upperbody workout stuff, my arms didn't want to play nice, so i switched to the bike. And kept whacking my knees into the handlebars b/c if i pushed the seat far enough back that my knees didn't hit on the up, i was at almost full extension when the pedal was CLOSEST to me ... DOH
Guess it's all elliptical on workout days. Going to do rowing on offdays still, though, b/c it's a relaxing motion and is different from the running :o
I should probably look into some kind of heart-rate-monitor thingie so i can try to target ranges for cardio. All the sensors on the equipment are in places i don't put my hands while exercising, so not so helpful there :o

Actually, now that I think about it, I probably put on like 10 miles of fast walking and stair climbing on the weekend, escorting contribution boxes around.
Monday: Treadmill 32 mins @ 5.2mph. Was worried it might be heard after the long-weekend off, but had no problems.

Worked out this morning...my cardio day. Did 65 minutes of jogging/incline walking.
Heart rate monitoring is really nice and helps a lot...as I posted in another thread, the one at my apt has a heart rate sensor.

Still doing eliptical and abb workouts daily. Switched my workout day with my trainer to Wed. this week to make it easier on my schedule. My trainer has been a little leary of my weight loss. 15 lbs in 2 months. So i'm switching my diet to more of weight maint. Increasing carbs and protein. Oddly, besides a flatter stomach, I haven't dropped any pants sizes, so I don't think i'm losing as much muscle as my trainer thinks I am. Even though my fat/muscle ratio hasn't changed, the overall weight loss means that there is muscle reduction along with fat.

My trainer has been a little leary of my weight loss. 15 lbs in 2 months. So i'm switching my diet to more of weight maint.Just under 2 lbs a week, but yeah, keep an eye on it. Especially if you start finding yourself getting sick or really tired. But you know all of that...
Last night, started my new weight training routine on my new home gym. It's something I dug up on the 'net. Routines seem to be a dime a dozen, and I wanted something more challenging than I was doing before.
Days 1 and 5:
3x8 Lat Pulldowns
3x8 Single Dumbell Rows
3x8 Dumbell Shrugs
3x8 Flat Bench Presses
3x8 Inclined Dumbell Presses
3x8 Seated Military Presses
3x8 Lateral Raises
3x8 Preacher Curls
3x8 Skullcrushers (French Presses)
3x15 Raised-leg Crunches
Challenging for me, to say the LEAST. Arms were like wet noodles by the end. The sets are shorter than my old routine (8 vs 12 reps each) but there are a LOT more exercises (10 vs 6). Weights are pretty modest at this point... Pulldowns @ 50lbs and BP's @ 100lbs and dumbells @ 25lbs each. (I haven't benchpressed at ALL since high school, don't laugh! :D ). Judging by how exhausted I was when I finished, I think it'll be a good program.
Days 3 and 7:
3x10 Leg Extensions
3x10 Squats
3x10 Leg Curls
3x10 Standing Calf Raises
Haven't tried this one yet, but it's relatively easy. And given all the running I've been doing lately, it's likely all I need.

3x10 Leg Curls
Start with light weights on those. They kill my lower back, and leg strength isn't really an issue for me.

Form + Modest weight > Sloppy form + Big weight.

This morning I did 60 minutes on the elliptical and my lower body workout. Got me going this morning. :lowcool: Hey Kullen, you might want to start drinking a protein shake. I was noticing the same problem at one point. I had dropped 15 lbs in a very short period of time. In addition, I do work out every day. Every once in a while Ill take a day off. The brand I use is called Micel Edge. It is awesome! The taste is great. Its almost like having a treat after your workout. The flavors I have tried so far are Vanilla and Double Chocolate Fudge. Although I have heard all of them are very good. You might want to give it a try.

Stopped at the gym this morning, but had a splitting headache as soon as I started, so i left instead :o
Did 2500m on the rowing machine this evening. about 500 at a time, then 30s break. Couldn't keep going longer than the 2-2.5 at a stretch, it was hurting my arms :o

Hey Kullen, you might want to start drinking a protein shake.I'm taking the Prolab Advanced formula. Not the most expensive stuff either; about $32cdn/jug ($24usd?) The chocolate is pretty OK; I use 1% milk and a few ice cubes in the blender to mix it well (water just sounds gross, and you get a few more g's of protein in the milk, as well as a lot of good vitamins and calcium).
I was noticing the same problem at one point. I had dropped 15 lbs in a very short period of time.I think I lost 15lbs just in January, but I was basically not eating and not sleeping. Looked in the mirror near the first of Feb and said, "Hmm... might as well keep going and get in shape too..."
In addition, I do work out every day. Every once in a while Ill take a day off. The brand I use is called Micel Edge. It is awesome! The taste is great. You might want to give it a try. :smile:I hadn't heard of that one, but I'm thinking of trying a different flavour next time (I'm almost done my 3rd jug o chocolate Prolab).

I've thought about adding a shake as well. My latest diet changes seem to be helping. I haven't lost any additional weight since I switched.

Micel Edge is wonderful! I would definately recommend trying it. Even though I have only tried those two flavors...I have heard all of them are delicious.
Well, today was another cardio day for me. Did 65 minutes of jogging/incline walking and then 10 minutes on the cross trainer. Felt good! I think I have become successfully addicted to working out. I cant imagine not working out at some point during the day.

The only reason I didn't go with a shake, is that I usually have a protien bar in the morning. But I might try to switch it up some. :D
