Nothing to speak of over the weekend. Five miles at lunch today, with no end to the unpleasant heat in sight. :|

Let's see...Friday night, I spent about 4 hours walking around the bookstore, in heels. Ugh!
Sunday, I did some weightlifting. I moved my mothers refrigerator. It was small, but when you're a wimp, it counts. :P Also did a lot of walking around the store with my mother. (A LOT. For a "disabled person" she sure does a lot of walking). All this on next to no sleep.
I expect to be completely lazy for the next few days. Somewhere along the line, I *will* get caught up on sleep and maybe, MAYBE, I'll be able to start doing some REAL activity.

I personally appear to be hitting a wall of sorts... at least my progress has slowed down to the point where it's really hard to tell across a week or two... I'm getting stronger and my weight is remaining stable (at around 160-162lbs) but I'm not losing much more fat. I'm actually quite amazed at the fact that now that I'm almost 40lbs lighter than I was, I still HAVE fat to lose. This makes me think that either a) 13 years of sedentary desk-work had atrophied my muscles to nothing or b) my lean weight at this point is probably around 150, which seems rather low for someone 5'10" with average bone structure.
I watch my diet pretty closely, though I've stopped counting g's of carbs/fats/protein; just don't have the time. Maybe I'll have to start again... OR maybe I should ramp up my cardio a bit... 2-3 days a week might not be cutting it. My main goal is to get my abdomen as lean as I can; the rest of me is relatively lean at this point.

So, would you be discouraged if I told you that I was an inch or two taller than you, roughly 20lbs lighter, and still could lose some fat? Extra padding around the middle is remarkably stubborn about going away, especially as you get on into your 30s.
Five miles today. Not too hot, and a moderate breeze besides, so not a bad day. Weather.com tells me the heat is moving back in again tomorrow though. :mad!:

Tuesday: Church night, so no exercise. Started tracking calories again:
Cereal (1.5c) & 1% Milk (1c): 81g carbs 16g protein 2g fat 394 calories
Coffee: 7g carbs 0g protein 1g fat 60 calories
Frozen Lunch: 31g carbs 9g protein 4.5g fat 200 calories
Oat Bar: 12g carbs 2g protein 1g fat 80 calories
Coffee: 7g carbs 0g protein 1g fat 60 calories
Pork Loin: 1g carbs 32g protein 16g fat 241 calories
Baked Potato: 36g carbs 4g protein 0g fat 161 calories
Sour Cream (2tbsp): 1g carbs 1g protein 5g fat 51 calories
Salad & Fat Free Dressing: 8g carbs 3g protein 0g fat 35 calories
Total: 184g carbs 67g protein 30.5g fat 1262 calories
Kinda pathetic. Might not be losing that fat because I'm starving? I don't really feel famished, though by the time meal-times roll around, I'm pretty hungry.

I've never tracked calories. The idea of measuring my food before I eat it just strikes me as a little too...obsessive, I guess.
Five miles. Hot, but breezy. I can't wait for fall. Fall is the best weather for running. ;)

Wednesday: Upper body workout. Swapped out a few exercises in the routine (started doing dips again; man I love those).

I'm on a "watch what you eat and lose some weight lazy!" stretch myself.
Kick the potato & sour cream. Substitute steamed cauliflower and broccoli instead. Use those butter buds instead of butter. Frozen meals will do you in every time. I've cut them out almost exclusively. But yeah... they *are* convenient.
Started my morning stretches and light calisthenics with 3 lb (each) handweights again.

I think he was saying that he's not taking enough calories in, not too many.
And don't cut fat out completely, ever. That's only a recipe for your body to hold on to every tenth of a gram you take in. Most health professionals will tell you to cut it down, but not OUT.

I think he was saying that he's not taking enough calories in, not too many.Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I'm fairly active now (weights 4 times a week, running 2 or 3, plus a few sessions of light yardwork or moderate tennis). I thought 1300 was a bit low, considering I think my "do nothing maintain what I have" intake should be about 1900-2100.

Good fats are needed for good hair, skin and a decent immune system, as well as cancer avoidance. Fish is good, olive oil, etc.

Body needs some fats. :) There's good fats too. Heh. It looked like a little too little protein too. :P
*nods* If you are active, you need a little more, but you know what? It's really worth it to have it done properly by a trainer / nutritionist type person who can do the body mass calculations, life style / exercise analysis and let you know about how much calories you should have a day with the carb / protein / fat percentage breakdowns. :)

Yeah, my proteins are usually in the 120-160 range. That was a bit of a low day for sure.
