Hey this post is somewhat of a crosspost from the general forum, but more focused on the potential creation of of a CCG group (CCGG? :lowlol:). I think we could dovetail this with the non D&D game days and just add it to the fare of fun. Just trying to get a count of people who are possibly interested.
The second purpose for this thread beyond determining who all is interested, is to figure out what game(s) we want to play. I have Star Wars and Magic cards, but not terribly interested in either, but Gravenstone's Ironman version of Magic sounds fun. I'm bidding a Marvel Overpower starter deck box (12 decks), which I'd not be adverse to sharing and splitting into multiple decks to play. As Raveneye pointed out, there are lots of other discontinued card games that can be bought pretty cheaply that we could try. I might buy some Battletech cards simply out of my love of the Battletech universe.
For still continuing games, I like the look of A Game of Thrones, which is based on George R. R. Martin's fantasy series (I highly recommend the books incidently). I bought one "starter" deck to see what the cards are like - to my untrained eye the artwork is pretty good and the game doesn't seem overly complicated.
