OK YOU SLACKERS! UP AN AT EM! LEMME SEE SOME HUSTLE! RAWR!

Saturday: Attempting to avoid town like the plague (80k Rolling Stones fans added to a 110k pop city = ugh) I found the end of it I had to pass through on the way to the park almost deserted. I guess you were either at the concert in the north end of town, or you'd skedaddled. Drove down to Fundy park with my sister and hiked a 6k loop trail with lots of incline. Stopped in at my brother's cabin (rented for the weekend) and had a fantastic BBQ that could not be beat.

Sunday: Woke up feeling so glowing and positive about all the hiking and nature and crap I'd encountered on Saturday that I half toyed with the idea of doing it again, but the price of gas, oy... funny thing was, in talking to my sister over lunch, she said she woke up feeling the same way (Crystal and I have a lot of these sorts of parallel thinking moments). Anyway we both got a laugh out of that and said "why not?" and so we drove down for the second day in a row (90 minute drive one-way) and hiked another, different 5k loop and again showed up uninvited (we brought supplies though) at my brother's rented cottage for another BBQ that could NOT BE BEAT...

Monday: Upper body workout which got bumped back from Sunday, when it would normally be.

My son punched me in the nuts while we were playing baseball. Don't ask.

Haven't posted here cause I wasn't really serious about losing weight, however, I have discovered a really good weight loss program.

Step one: prepare your food, doesn't matter what you make, but don't make a separate plate for your kids.

Step two: Give your plate to your child, whatever she/he doesn't eat is yours, if you still have an appetite. Remember that whatever is left has probably been in and out of your childs mouth at least once, possibly even on the floor.

Overall, I've lost about 20 pounds. ;)

Why were you playing baseball with your n..... oh, right. Don't ask.

Anyway, I haven't been on my bike for two weeks now. One week off was up at my parents (though I did get a short ride on my dad's bike), and last week I was just plain lazy and drove to work. Had to drive today, transporting computers, but expect to be back to bike-commuting tomorrow. I'm contemplating looking at riding my bike TO work, about 20 miles; I don't expect it would take much longer than my total time for the morning bus ride (1h40m). That'd put me at 40 miles/day, I'd love that.

Since I'm relatively recently single again (see how I slip that in here, where traffic is less) and I don't feel like playing EQ all that much, I have discovered that I only do three things:

1) Watch Cops
2) Work around the house
3) Exercise

So I've been running a lot, which I normally hate, but I've downloaded some half hour comedy hours for my mp3 player and thus its tolerable. I've installed a speed bag in the gym and have actually been using the gym reguarly (both the machine and the free weights and the heavy bag).

I've started a new ab rountine, which kicked my ass last night. I am thinking of doing yoga, if only because I've always been interested in it and there is a place down the road.

I don't actually have much weight to lose, but I am leaning up again pretty quickly. I am fortunate in that my body responds well and qucikly to activity.

I caught that. I'll let someone else bring it over to the Tavern though.

Anyway, I'm back on the bike today. Bus in the morning, so I'll be seeing 20 miles home. I'll be working on Saturday so I'll probably try riding up in the morning, see what its like for the day with a wipe-down and change of clothes once I get here.

Still on the same routine. The high protein regemen I've been on seems to be helping add bulk and definition, while I'm steady on weight.

Still on the same routine. The high protein regemen I've been on seems to be helping add bulk and definition, while I'm steady on weight.I seem to be holding my weight at around 160 as well, but I notice definition improving too. Middle is still a bit squishy, but shoulders/back/arms, while not large, are pretty rock-hard, if I do say so myself. Frankly the amount of progress I've made in 8 months has surprised me. I had no idea I could feel this healthy... it's awesome! If I ever feel I've reached the level I really wanted (I'm not too far off, I think) I'll have to post some before/after pics.
