View Full Version : Non-droppable Players

Did we have non-droppable players last year? Because this really sucks. I would like to drop Culpepper, but I can't. I should have the option to drop certain players. What if all 3 were injured? Would I still be stuck with them?
I would vote that this not be carried over for next year.
Thanks,

I don't think I can change that. Yahoo! has a "cannot cut" list of the previous year's premier players to prevent people who don't make the playoffs to stir up trouble.

Actually, I can cancel this. I don't see us abusing it and I cannot see anyone objecting to you dumping Culpepper, but I want to hear from more people that no one objects.

Don't rush this point on my account. I'm still not sure I'm dropping him yet. I might give him another week or two, but it just is a little irritating that I might NEVER get rid of him. Plus, the commish can override any trade.
I think that the Yahoo idea would be good for commissioners who don't review trades or are completely clueless. That's not applicable here. :D

I would vote to keep the No-Drop list in effect, every year. The vast majority of players on it are ones who should not be dropped anyway, even Culpepper. If it were week 6 and he still was playing this way, that's one thing. But after two weeks, I don't see it.
One thing that is annoying with the list is when it's not updated quickly enough on Yahoo!'s end, like with Priest Holmes last year, when he was lost after week 8 (I think, may have been week 6) for most of the rest of the year. He wasn't removed from the No-Drop list until a week later, I think. That, I can see being annoying.
And you know it's a screwed up year when folks are contemplating dropping Culpepper but keeping Plummer. :lowlol: (No offense to you, Lycos; just a wacky start to the '05 season, is all.)

I don't figger it'll be abused, and I'd also be interested to see who picks up Culpepper.
I have no problem with making all players droppable...that's why we have the waiver system in place.

I have to admit I would tempted by Culpepper.

I have no problem with abolishing the list of can't cut players.
However, Lycos, I would urge you to reconsider on Culpepper. Play your QB2 for a week or two instead and let Culpepper ride out the current dry spell. He will eventually return to form.

I have no problem with abolishing the do-not-cut list, either. If there's a seriously objectionable occurance (somebody gets disgusted and has a fire sale, for instance), the commish can override it anyway.

I'd like to bring this change up again. There is a good chance that I'll need to drop some players in a week or two. Some of them are just absolutely playing below average.
Can we make this change, please?
Thanks

I guess I don't really have a problem with it, though I think you might be hard-pressed to find better options on the waiver wire. You might be better off trying to trade them.

I'm fine with dropping it and leaving it dropped. Again, we have 2 sets of people here 1: basically clueless and 2) those that wouldn't abuse it anyway. For those of us who are clueless, a simple PM to the person from the Commish explaining why he stopped the huge dropping of players would take care of that.
I think we should.

Personally, I'm opposed 100% to any chance that I have to see the huge droppings of players.
That's completely disgusting. You people sicken me! Bleh.
Er, what?...
Oh.
Um, nevermind.

My only concern with this is that since Drom seems to have no interests outside of fantasy football and his imaginary wife, he'll pick up all the dropped players before the rest of us notice they've been dropped. :lowrazz:

Well, what else is there to do? My imaginary wife doesn't play fantasy football, and I have to do something outside of my imaginary house...
Speaking of which ... When I find myself in an imaginary house, with an imaginary wife, I may ask myself... how did I get here?
By my imaginary car, of course.

Ooh, was that a Talking Heads reference? Nicely done.

Hey,
I just want to know if he did the hand thing, while he was typing that out. You know, the one hand defining segments of the other forearm?

It's done. The agreement is that if you do not make the playoffs, you keep your team as it was. I can probably turn it back on as the playoffs approach, anyway.
