Got back to routine after being sick for... way too long.
Well, almost back to routine.
Monday: Normal back exercises, and two sets with the hand weights. Will do three sets tomorrow, then up the reps back to normal by end of week.
Yes... I'm *that* out of shape!

Did a combo chest/boxing workout.
Chest exercises, jumped rope for 30 seconds in between sets, then speed bag, then heavy bag, then jump rope for 6 minutes.

I need to get back on the bike, been off for 11 days now. That and get my food intake controlled better, I don't need those monster sub sandwiches, or the third refill of soda. Stepped on the scales this morning, up to 164, had been wavering 158-160 for awhile. I guess that's why a couple of my kilts are a bit tighter than they had been.
Incentive to slim down a bit: just bought a new kilt, $160, and while it fits, its definitely too tight.

Last night I threw on a pair of jeans to head to dance class. First time I've worn jeans since Spring. Usually I wear my belt on the very first hole on the belt. To keep my pants from falling down while dancing I had to put my belt on the 3rd hole which was shocking. After dinner, we came home and weighed myself (I don't do that often). 247. /dance. And that was right after a meal. Not sure I remember the last time I was under 250.
I haven't really done anything new except I have been putting real effort into monitoring my portion sizes. It's gotten out of control so I'm trying to put a stop to it.

Tuesday: Did my upper body workout after skipping a workout, letting my shoulder heal for 7 days. Feels 100% again, so did my usual bench/dumbells/etc. stuff, but took it easy with the lateral raises, using only 20lbs.

Meh, blew it today at lunch. Went to Quiznos and had all of a regular sized sub. Would've done fine with just a small. And got two refills of soda, but at least IT was a small cup.
<sigh>
Oh, and skipped breakfast again too. :(

Hopefully, back to dance classes soon. :) Need to do some cardio which I'm not getting.

Last night I ran and ran and ran.
I generally despise running, but was sort of in a groove so did probably four miles total.

True, true...
My big weakness right now is Lipton Brisk tea. I know its basically sugar water, but I love the stuff. Not carbonated, so doesn't go flat during the day, and is still good at room temp. 120 cal/can adds up quick though. Too quick.

Yeah. The thing with carbs is; they're fine if you USE them as soon as possible. They're the most readily metabolized energy source (aside from alcohol, I think) even though they've got half the caloric density of fats. The GOOD thing about fats, is that I believe your body hits a "wall" where it really can't absorb any more in a short time and it goes "through". Your body is more than happy to lap up the sugars almost non-stop, however.
Anyone up for the "drink cooking oil vs eat white bread for 30 days" diet test? :D

Yeah, same with protien. Carbs are the easiest to break down and therefore either get burned or stored more readily.
Don't get me wrong though. You need carbs, expecially if you are active.

Don't get me wrong though. You need carbs, expecially if you are active. For sure. I didn't mean to imply that either. Before and after workouts of any type, especially. Low sugar crash is not fun. Most sports drinks (and even protein shakes) have a respectable amount of carbs in them, for this reason. Carbs = Best Fuel. Entire bag of corn chips = Too much fuel. I'm not an Atkins person... simply because I don't think carbs are BAD. But one should keep an eye on them though.

Large salami sub with provolone AND swiss cheese, and about 40oz of Mt Dew.
Yeah, so much for a decent lunch.
