Getting back on the "one thread per week" track.

Well, I got chastised pretty well for my attempted trades last week involving Fast Willie Parker. And while Fast Willie still has yet to play this week (he's on MNF), I have to say it's looking like the right choice to have kept him.

A brief rundown of some of the participants in said trades:

Michael Clayton - DNP
Michael Pittman - ~80 all-purpose yards, 0 TDs
Brian Westbrook - 36 all-purpose yards, nothing else
Deuce McCallister - ~60 total yards, torn ACL = done for the year
Further with the smack talk... Thur, you should be okay, but you're in worse shape going into Week 6 than Barrack was going into week 4!! You have 5 of your 7 current starters on BYE this week, which includes your starting QB, your #1 WR and your #1 RB. Yikes! Great week for Ash to get to face you, with his Shaun Alexander v Hou and Kevin Jones v Car... G'luck!

I get Caranthir this week. I'm very satisfied with my players this week, especially that I get to choose between three RBs for my flex spot - Moore v Chi (bleh), Parker v Jac (bleh), and Antowain Smith v Atl (yay!). Should be a close matchup in general, tho' Palmer against Tenn and LT against Oak makes me very optimistic...

I'm actually liking my chances. It would be nice if GB weren't on a bye, but hopefully this will be the week that Eric Moulds erupts. I'm solid on RB. I can only hope for a repeat from Tom Brady next week.

Finally figured out why I couldn't get a decent backup RB: they're all on your bench.

Feeling good about week 6 against The Wiggle, but I am sure he is too. Both of our QBs could go either way. I need some surprise production at WR to overcome my projected RB deficiencies.

I surrender! I was doing bad enough before I lost Deuce for the season. Good grief.

Uh, yeah. Parker had all of 26 yards last night. While Clayton was an obvious bust this week, it still looks as if I made the right choice. Besides, I didn't chastise, I only tried to soften the rejection of the trade with a reasonable explaination of why I thought it wasn't a good idea for me. In the future I will be sure to simply reply "NO DRAX, BAD DOGGIE!" to any trade rejections I send your way. :lowrazz:

My team has been seriously underproductive the past two weeks, so I have lost a lot of confidence in them. Unfortunately, they still look too good on paper to start cleaning house or attempting drastic trades at this point.

I switched out Hasselbeck in place of Bulger this week because of the defenses they face (Seattle vs. Houston, St. Louis vs. Indy). Still, it'll be a close one if production from most of our players is near their averages.

I hear ya. One "good" week from the Indy offense is enough to keep me hanging on just a bit longer. I just wish whatever RBs I plug in decided to pretend at being productive that week. That and this Russian roulette by Tight End has to stop...

Fair enough. I appreciate/d it!

Heh, Clayton was a throw-in idea, only really wanted the RB. And you don't have to worry about future trade offers... I kinda like being second in points but the lone undefeated team. I think I'll keep Parker around for a cheerleader, if nothing else. :lowlol:

Hehe, I was gonna mention Parker's production too, but was beaten to the punch. :lowrazz:

The trades weren't bad, but I was out in AZ with very limited internet access, and didn't feel like it was the time to be making a trade (being hamstrung by lack of info).

As far as the bye week, I knew it was gonna be tough, but never expected them to start their bye a week early. The other benefit of being out in AZ; I didn't have the opportunity to watch the Iggles get smoked by the Cowgirls...that would have really sucked. Anyway, congrats on getting off the snide, AMM, even if it was against me.

Seems now that the rough edges have been filed off, I now have a chance. Woot

Despite a 30+ pt lead going into tonight, it's still anybody's game. You have Holt and Wilkins going tonight, which are StL's two primary threats against Indy, while I have only Kevin Curtis, the #4 option, most likely (behind Holt, Jackson, and Wilkins). I think if Curtis catches just one TD pass, that should seal the game in my favor. If not, tho', should come down to the wire.

Great game this week, Car! :D

Holt's banged up though, so that should help your chances and hurt mine. Sad thing is I would have beaten anybody that didn't have LT.

/em wishes we'd made this a keeper league last year :lowrazz:

Surprisingly, I seem to have spanked Shiz this week. I thought we were evenly matched going in, especially with me having to hold out Julius Jones due to injury. My guys finally picked a week to all get on the smae page though, as almost everyone (even my defense) got in a TD and good stats. Michael Pittman proved the perfect plug-in to replace the ailing Jones for this week, and I may even keep him around as it's looking like the Cadillac may be up on blocks in Tampa for awhile.

This is already my highest scoring week of the season, and I still have Edge to play tonight. I can only hope my crew performs this well when I face Drax's point machine.
Good game Shiz, sorry your guys seemed to pick this week to all go on points hiatus.

Rudi and Alge continue to do nothing. Rudi is actually even losing touches to the new guy.

I tried to swap Ward out of my lineup, but didn't make it to the site in time. I didn't find out he wouldn't be playing until about 15 minutes to kickoff - was working around the house. And $%@! to BB for listing Dillon as probable all week and even go so far as to dress him for the game with no intention of playing him. :mad!:

Ah well. On to next week.

In my other league, I have Shaun Alexander (instead of LT) in addition to Carson Palmer, Baltimore D, and Antowain Smith... This week's game, I currently am winning 131 - 48. My opponent has Stokley going tonight, and I have Torry Holt and Dallas Clark yet to go.

Which I bring up b/c LT was actually outscored by Shaun this week. Just an fyi...

Still was an entertaining matchup!

You're right, and Ash (who I believe has Shaun Alexander) is the other person i wouldn't have beaten.

Wasted a pretty good outing on Priest's part. Too bad Davis didn't show up too.

Worked around my (again) abyssmal RB play in large part due to Erudite getting bitten with the "Probable means benchwarmer" bug. Hoping my Indy WRs at least put up decent numbers tonight so I can claim an honest win rather than one by dint of coaches playing roster games.

Posted a heart-stopping 135.77 points this week. I probably will need that again next week to beat Drax's guys, who seem to earn 10 points each just for showing up to play every week...

Grats on the win, Ash. I tried to make it a game after my top guys went on their two week bye, but oh well. :frown:
