Stratics is slow everyday. That is one of the major reasons we see so little traffic there now.

Ugo sucks, Ugo totally and completely sucks.... Unfortunately stratics uses so much bandwith it scares most other isps aways, so though they are working hard to get away from ugo, right now, UGO sucks and is what they are still using.....

Stratics has been so slow for me for months as to be unuseable.

It's kind of sad, but I find myself going there less and less because of the boards performance. I'm probably losing touch with the LoW because of it. :(

It kills me to suggest this, but maybe we should consider inviting the remaining EQing LoWs to use these forums. Stratics seems to be in a baaaad way. :(

I was going to recommend this as well. What about the Tavern folk as well? Lets just bring them all over. 8)

What does this board cost attriel? The last thing we want is to jack his bandwidth costs, although LoWers aren't too prolific on their own. I just worry if we get a hoarde of WWTers here.

Long as Ididar doesn't migrate that's half the bandwidth usage saved right there.

LOL

If dues are in order to offset the cost I'd be more than happy to contribute. Guess we need to know what its going to take bandwidth and cost wise before we invite all of WWT. We could PM everyone but Id...

Though I think Id would do quite well debating himself if he had to.

Just kidding of course. ;)

I would agree that LoW wouldn't take that much bandwidth, but if most of Stratics started to migrate. Woah!

That would be way out of the realm of sensibility. To prevent something like that I would recommend a moderated version of registration, so that a ton of people could not just start joining this board. I would think that it would be harder to control the board in that case.

Erk.

I can set up a board for LoW. That wouldn't be a problem.

Bandwidth is flat-fee for size of the pipe regardless of usage, so that's good. And unless one group starts using too significant a portion of my availability, monetary contributions are on a purely voluntary basis.

That said, WWT would (a) ratchet that usage up to the "mandatory 10c from everyone" range (or whatever, mandatory is the keyword), and (b) strain my bandwidth I think.

What kind of a pipe does stratics have now, anyway?

(Let me know if this system starts slowing down, I'll throw another machine at it 8) )

A broken one. They're on UGO.

a T3 they are in talks with a new hosting place is oc31 I believe... They just need to reach an agreement with them, that should speed them up signifigantly.

It would be really nice if we could invite LoW here. I really am afraid that Stratics - the lifeblood of our guild - is now turning into its affliction.

With the advent of NWN and other games, without a strong, stable board, I don't think the guild will survive.

Is this feasible Attriel? or would it put too big a strain on your system (financially and / or bandwidth wise).

There are about 50 to 60 of you guys? We should be able to handle that easily it is when it gets to the hundreds that we might have troubles.

Sounds to me like Kiir says "OK." Should we tell LoW?

We should probably have an EQ topic area in that case.

Probably only 20 active posters. That might pick up if there is an easier board to access.
