I was informed today that Jamestown, North Dakota, my hometown, the Stagnation Capital of the Continental United States, is FINALLY getting DSL next month. 8)

My $400 worth of routing equipment shall be a paperweight no longer!

And the timing couldn't be better, since my new computer's supposed to be here between now and Wednesday, so I'll have two to hook up to my router again.

/em does the dance of joy

Say, can I interest you in a baseball team? Slightly used. All you have to do to keep them is get your local government to build them a new stadium every five or ten years. All sales final.

Heh, you picked the one pro team I wasn't referring to (well, them and the Wild). :P

Actually, yes, they're doing okay this year.

It's all the whining and crying and threatening to leave if we don't build them a new stadium funded by...you guessed it...us. Sales tax increases among other things.

It's not like Carl Pohlad needs any more money, or has the time to spend it at this point anyway. He's very old.

I tell you what, I'd trade my team (the Tribe) for the Twins any day of the week. Hart resigns as GM and suddenly the team's being gutted by a new GM who has no prior baseball experience.

Yeah, I suppose the grass is always greener...

We have a semipro ball team (the Saints) that plays outdoors. Apparently the games are quite a show. I've never gotten around to going to see a game, but I really should. I've missed outdoor baseball since they built a $%&%&^#)$%&*!! mall where the old Met Stadium used to be.

We have a very minor league team here. But they call of the games at any hint of precipitation.

Heck, a mosquito can take a crap in center field and they'll stop the game.
