Plot Mission #11 - Bloodstone Fen
Meet in Bloodstone Fen, American District #1, 9pm EST.
Another tricky bonus mission tonight.
Do the mission as normal until you reach the seeds (A on the map). Grab one and go back the way you came. After a short distance, to the south of the path, in the gray, swamplike area, you should notice a path leading up to a gray platform with a blue rune on it. Drop one of the seeds on the platform (1 on the map).
A druid will appear and ask for your aid in awakening the Elder Druid. You will need to free three more druids by dropping seeds on their platforms. You get the seeds from position 2 on the map and drop them at the destinations marked 3 on the map. These druids and the original will then move up to a large platform and awaken the Great Druid. However, while doing this you will be attacked by Jungle Guardians. These large tree-creatures throw boulders at you. What's more, the druids don't want you to attack them. Luckily, they don't follow you much. Once the Elder Druid is summoned, speak to him; the guardians become non-hostile and you complete the bonus.
You do not have to go all the way back to the main path, but can instead continue north past the guardians to get back to the main mission.
There is a minor bug with this quest. The first druid has a tendency to get stuck on the first pair of guardians. It is often necessary to get them to move out of the way by enticing them forwards to attack you.
Warning: Killing any of the guardians will cause the Bonus to fail (unless, of course, you just completed it and want to take revenge upon the now-neutral guardians). The first guardian you kill will spawn five Ravagers and will cause any remaining druids not to be awakened. Instead, if you drop a vine seed on a platform, a pair of Ravagers will emerge. They have good drops, though.
Possible skill captures for monks (4), elementalists (2), necromancers, rangers, and mesmers (1 each).

I'll be there, 9:00pm in Bloodstone Fen. Sounds like a fun and very involved evening!

I'll do my best to be there, but I haven't been sleeping for crap the last couple days and feel a serious crash coming on.

Glad you made it, Gravenstone!
I thought it went fairly smooth last night, except for the henchmen screwing up the bonus. I was surprised Thom as able to take down a guardian all by his lonesome, which I have to attribute to his recently patched-in anger issues. (Then again, if I had died (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Red-Cloaked_Deserter) eight or nine missions ago and people were still dragging me around to fight, I might be a bit angry as well.)
The mesmer NPC was amusing, too, between complaining about the humidity in the jungle and announcing to mobs that "You have made me very angry!".
I'll have to go back and check the capturable skills - some of the trees were monks, and if I can snag a few skills from them I'll have to run the mission with the henchmen just for that.
Talked a bit with Onnie last night - she opened up the Courthouse and finished Althea's Ashes. She was going to try to walk to Yak's Bend - dunno if she made it or not. I'll try to help her through the rest of the Ascalon missions throughout the weekend. She's telescoping away from my W/M, though. I'm only level 7, and she's already up to 12.

Yeah, it was good to see you make it in last night GS, even if you weren't 100%.
Little Thom needs counseling. I think everyone calling him "Little" Thom has given him issues. He didn't die though, I remember the NPC saying she was fairly certain that he'd faked his own death so he could run off without them looking for him. The Mesmer had nerve complaining about the heat while runngi through the jungle in what amounts to an overcoat...
I tried using a combination of bleeding skills, extra damage skills and knockdown/interrupt skills last night and along with the new rare sword (which has a bonus to bleeding and AL) it seemed to work well. We mowed through stuff easily, and only got in trouble a couple of time. No deaths (except for the henchie healer) was a big plus.
Dunno what was up with that last cinematic. It looked like I was hunched over barfing behind my sheild. I was bummed I didn't get to do a Signet on the big bad guy though, as I bet he had a warrior skill I could have snagged.

(raises hand) What do you mean about getting a signet off the boss guy? Is there something I don't know about bosses or I should say, there's something I don't know about bosses.
Yeah I saw you guys on last night but figured you were all really caught up or would of said hi. Shortly before I was going to log I started talking to Erudite. Told him I have some green die and needed to change the color of those flames on his forehead.
You know it is funny. I play Bixie and I don't friggen care what she looks like. She's a rugged chick. I play Xellany and I get all out of shape when her outfit doesn't match. I am seriously thinking about using a bottle of blue die just for her courtly legs now because they are green.
It just doesn't go with the rest of her... "Look".
I did make it to Yaks but that was just a bit ago. I signed up for all these quests. Thought, hey no biggie they are only 500 points. It was a bit rough getting here but let's see how we go...
(ahem) Little did I know I was gonna do three completions in one shot. Haha! Did the primary quest on accident for the area because I was going after the raiders, did another while doing that and clearing the place. Oh I think it was, the way is blocked. The Dwarves out of control, and getting the refuges.
I really didn't mean to do all those at once. I just kept on following the Flashing dot. I was shocked to get back and have the guy tell me about the Exodus of the prince continuing now and we are all off to Kytra (sp?) just as soon as some other things are finished.
I'm standing there thinking, "But but but... he's still down trying to kill himself at the wall. And I've got two more chances yet to get him killed and put the blame on someone else. Then there's this one last issue for the scribe, I need to find that last marker.... then I think I can go for a walk-about."
Really, I had no idea I was completing a major quest all by myself. At lest I think it was. It fell under Primary if I remember correctly when in fact I was doing secondary.
Well it's not MY fault the bloody turd blocking the way was in the middle of where I needed to go so I Mesmer'd and Kitty'd him to death. He shouldn't STAND there in the cold right in my way when I don't have a coat to keep warm like George does.

Once you make it to Lion's Arch in Kryta, you'll find a quest (actually a series of two quests) to obtain a Signet of Capture. Once you have it, you can equip it on your skill bar just like any other skill. Activating it near the corpse of a dead boss mob of your class (primary or secondary) will provide you with a list of skills owned by that particular boss and give you the opportunity to capture one of them.
Generally this will give you skills sooner than you are able to purchase them from merchants, and it's the only way to obtain your elite skills.

Dye doesn't always have the effect you might expect on clothing. A lot of times it's only the trim that gets dyed. Having said that, I have lots of dye if you want it. I think 4 vials of blue, actually.

Post-Searing, primary quest are used to direct you to mission areas. Yak's Bend is the first Shiverpeak Mountains outpost, but not a mission area, so the primary quests there direct you to Borliss Pass, where the first Shiverpeak mission is.
And you probably noticed that your maximum party size increased from 4 to 6 in Yak's Bend. ;)

Okay dokay. Then I didn't really goof goof.
Are we gonna play tonight? Or do you have plans? Heh, I know I know I've taken ya's over almost every single night since I got the game. Oh, I also got Factions today. So far I'm not impressed with the look of the crits. At least not what they are showing in the booklet pictures.
Seesh those poor assian girls need to go to an All You Can Eat joint and have at it. Geez they look unhealthy. And what's with the hood, are we trying to go for Vsisa from Lord of the Sith here?

Yeah, I can play tonight. We have an appointment early, and have to do some cleaning of the back porch and basement (new washer arriving tomorrow), so likely 9pm EST or thereabouts.
