View Full Version : Sorrow's Furnace

I've had Zyll trying to run the last two portions of the "Into Sorrow's Furnace" quest. These are definitely PC team oriented missions. In one, you end up facing increasing waves (coming from 2-3 different directions) of mobs while trying to keep the NPC alive. Each wave contains a Priest of Sorrow, and the last two add bosses to the mix as well.

The second quest forces you to split your party to protect the NPC as the remainder hunt for specific mobs in the zone for 4 specific item drops.

Since attriel seems to be on hiatus (and pretty much everyone else who looked in the last couple months) we aren't being pressed to add to the Ascended, so maybe we can try and knock these out the next Thursday everyone is able to make it?

Yeah, sounds good to me. I can bring either Destrid or Seoman, whichever is going to be more useful.

I'm always up for Sorrow's Furnace. :lowrazz:

I should be good for that as well. I don't leave for GenCon until Friday morning, so I'll have time Thursday night. Won't be able to stay up too late though.

I'm pissed at GW right now. :mad!:

It doesn't like me so I decided not to like it. Instead of crashing at character screen it's now crash in DL's.

Fine if it wants to play with itself... it can go ahead! Far be it from ME to interupt! I'd never wanna do that!

Did anyone else just have the poolside scene from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" flash into their head? :evileye:

That sucks Onnie. Have you tried uninstalling GW and reinstalling? Sounds like a game file is corrupt.

Yes, and it still crashes on the DL. Right now I'm fed up with it that I can't even be bothered with just uninstalling again and seeing if I can get either factions or just the orginal to work. But not both. Am not even going to go messing with Beta drivers route due to everything else on the puter works just fine.

I dunno what is up with it. :( I do miss George though.

What does it do, Onnie? Crash to desktop? Any error message or the like?

I'll poke around the tech support forums when I get the chance.

It locks up on the DL. It goes from a big file transfer per sec to nothing... then I get either (IF I've gotten close to a log-in) a total crash or the file transfer never completes. That has the "not responding" start. I know my net is responding cause I close that out and Net running just fine. Shut down, restart... same old.

The only thing I can think of is there a vid driver battle going on. But it is with GW and nothing is actually wrong with my computer. That crap usually happens when they mess with the Front End. Usually a "Go update your drivers" is universally issued before the company in questions goes, "Opps! Our bad! those new neato graphics via a zippy color had a bit of a leak... but really FIXED NOW! Oh! And.. go back to the old drivers, there was nothing wrong with them. In fact the newer ones are rather unstable.."

The only thing I can find in the tech forums that sound similar are corrupt client files. Deleting and repatching the .dat file seems to work sometimes, although more often than not it seems to be a one-time fix that needs to be redone every time you want to play. Other than that, the only other suggestion (so far) is an uninstall/reinstall and the looooong patching process.

I'll keep digging.

Thank ya's. I can't believe they broke it and I missed all the fun of getting wiped out. While not standing a chance aginst anything since I don't have the phwat lewt 15k gear that's not different from the 1.5k except knewler.

I could of used my newly learned term from WoW and started raving about our TPW.

(Hopes she got that right.)

I'll be on at 9pm EST for this, planning to meet in Deldrimor War Camp district 1.

I have lots and lots of things in Kamed's quest log, so no worries if this ends up being a no-go tonight.

Am still having problems and still hear that there's a file corruption issue they are dealing with? I am wondering what everyone's vid card is. Mines a Geoforce... err great now I forget it's incarnation. Anyone else running one?

I'd like to check drivers and stuff like that.

Geforce 6600GT 128MB

Zero issues in Guild Wars, but EQ2 was fubar'd after the install of the 6600GT and never recovered. Apparently there issues with that game and that card combo, and neither SOE nor NVidia care to resolve them. I ended up cancelling my EQ2 subscription, only AFTER blowing $20 on the DoF expansion and $45 on 3 months of subscription that never got used. Grr...

Oh grrr, I hope it isn't something like that with my problem. Because I've had Factions from the get go. And was looking forward to the new bank storage that Erudite talked about for materials. Plus, lots still hasn't been explored, like the Fire Place from the Temple of Ages.

At least, I think that is where we go from Shiverpeaks.

I'm running an older GeForce than Raveneye, 5500oc, but have had zero issues so far. And I haven't been able to find anything else on the tech forums (although, truthfully, I haven't had a lot of time to dig yet).

I've got the most recent system, running a pair of Geforce 7800 GTs. No problem with GW either. Not to be snarky or anything, but you're the only one of us running WoW as well, and this seems to have cropped up after you started it. Is it possible that game installed an incompatible file or changed a setting which might be bringing this on?

Onnie

You know I never thought of that. Oh gwad. Do you guys have any idea how long that friggen (*#)(*$)#(*%$() takes to install?!

(sniffles)

Okay Graven, you just sounded Snarky! But only cause the thought of having to reinstall to find out scares the heebbiees outta me... :eek!: :lowsad: :(
