We'll sticky more of these if we see things dropping off the page.

For ALL dieters this might help figure out how much really goes into something:

Measuring and conversions. (http://recipes.chef2chef.net/conversion/)

For specifically Weight Watchers people:

Healthdiscovery.net (http://www.healthdiscovery.net/) has some good tools, including a 1 point food list, a fast food point list and some good forums for finding info.

This site (http://www.dwlz.com/) has more food point lists, some good suggestions (great ones for getting your water when you don't like to drink it), menu planners and the like.

And finally, an exhaustive (http://www.quiddity.cc/rachel/diet/wwfoods.htm) list of points for foods.

some good suggestions (great ones for getting your water when you don't like to drink it)
Where, if you don't mind pointing it out to me? I like drinking bottled water (Ice Mountain, and especially Dasani, are my favorites, tho' Aquafina is good too if Dasani or Ice Mtn cannot be found), but if I could get that in other forms, I'd like that too. ;)

Thanks!

Another question:
What's a mountain apple? It's one of the 1-pt fruits listed, but I've never heard of them. (And I LOVE apples, so this'd be a great choice of eats. :))

I have no clue what a mountain apple is.

As for water, some suggestions include adding a bit of flavoring and sugar substitute (splenda, equal or sweet n low) and it still counts as water. Because sugar substitutes don't have any calories and none of the flavorings (ideally) would have caffine or the like in it. Another one was to take the flavored water (this one came from Carol), put it in a paper cup and stick a popsicle stick in it and freeze it. A little tastier than eating ice and still getting your water.

One of the sites there had some ideas for, basically, tricking yourself into drinking more. Drink a glass as SOON as you get out of bed. Use a cup that you know how much it measures and drink a certain number of them each day.

http://www.dwlz.com/WWinfo/water.html Here's the tip list I was talking about. Not sure if this is what you were lookign for or not.

This is a handy link for those counting points - Dottie's Weight Loss Zone:

http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

If you scroll down a bit, you'll find a listing of about 400 different restaurants - click on each link and get the points for menu items. She doesn't always have every menu item but it's a good listing.

Also, Aimees Adventures for recipes:

http://www.aimeesadventures.com/Recipes.html

There are some good recipes here. We've tried several and I can list what we've liked if anyone is interested. I have found that it's a good idea to double-check the points though. It's only been an issue one time so far but that one was off by almost double so I always check now.

Yes, please let us know! I'd love a good place to start.

And if you check the useful tools thread, one part of the spreadsheet that I put up there has a tool for figuring the points for a recipe. Just a thought. :)

Joy sent me this link b/c she thinks I have flabby arms ;). It's got some good tips in there that can be extrapolated to other areas (like the parts about varying exercises, time between sets, and antagonist super sets).

Healthcastle (http://www.healthcastle.com/) is a site I've been getting useful tips, ideas from, for the past few weeks.

Also I'm just now reading this article (http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/diet.fitness/08/29/healthmag.walk.fat/index.html) about plyometrics. Sounds promising, but I have serious doubts about how I would look putting some of the suggestions into practice on sidewalks in my neighborhood. :rotflmao:
