Okay, most of us have been Ascended for a while now. I've had a lot of fun playing around in Sorrow's Furnace and, to a lesser extent, Ruins of the Tomb of Primeval Kings. Looking back over the threads here, I Ascended and did the Dragon's Lair mission in early June. It's been nearly three months since then and I'm getting really really itchy to start advancing through the plot again.
Is anybody up for the first Southern Shiverpeaks mission this week? I direct this mostly at Raveneye and GravenStone, as the three of us are the only folks that have logged in at some point in the last two or three weeks.

I'm open to it, although I'd also like to try and wrap up the Sorrow's Furnace missions at some point. Might actually work on getting my assassin caught up in Tyria and see if she can be an alternate contributor.

I love my assassin, but crikey he goes down so fast when things start hitting him. I need to get (much) better at the hit-and-run tactics that assassins are preferred to use. Warp in, slash-slash-starburst, warp out. Way too used to playing Seoman the tank o' doom. :lowrazz:

I'm all about continuing the story missions. I've already told myself I'm not buying Factions until the original game's storyline has been played through, and with another expansion on the way I should get busy with that soon.
I need to wrap up Sorrow's Furnace missions as well, but can do them solo or on another night.

Well that was less than satisfying.
The second time through the mission I was on the ridge and could actually SEE the ship in the ice lake below us, maybe 100 yards down the path and with only one last group of defenders between us and it. Then the NPC decides to stand there and die. Grrr...
I think we've got that mission down pretty well now, except I guess standing and fighting on the last segment is not the thing to do. Also, I think I spotted the bonus guy when we ran back through the caves. Not sure how to get there though, seemed like he was sealed off. Maybe another boom barrel?

I looked at the mission guide on the wiki after we were done last night. We still had a bit of walking to do around the ridge before we get let down to the beach. And Evennia stops to fight anything that aggros her, regardless of her insistence that we run.
We just need a bit more AE damage to help clean up those Stone Summit groups, I think. We were pretty close the second time, but that first group with the boss spread out on me as my meteor shower was being cast so I didn't catch them all in it. :lowsad:
The other (cheesy) way to do it is to stand in the ice cave and let the Mursaat drift on past down towards the ship. They'll wipe out the Stone Summit on the way, and then get blasted by a catapult before they actually make it to the ship.
You have to be infused to do the bonus. It requires that you take out two groups of Mursaat. (Actually one group of Mursaat and one group of Jade stuff, but same difference.) Infusion in Mineral Springs (leaving from Granite Citadel) takes an hour to an hour-and-a-half, and does present opportunities for Icy Dragon Swords, if anybody wants to try it. I had Destrid and Seoman both infused earlier this week.

I intend to get infused, but so far my attempts to run there have been thwarted. I wonder if it would be possible to have a single person sprint past the intervening groups, sort of how we accidentally beat that earlier mission where we were getting wiped before Raveneye sprinted up the gangplank.

I know nothing of infusion. Seems I have some catching up to do.

Ah. The Mursaat (and Jades) have a spell called Spectral Agony. It's an AE damage spell radiating from them that does huge amounts of damage. If you're wearing armor that's been infused, this damage is severely reduced. (I was taking 9 damage a second, per Mursaat in range, from it last night in my infused hydromancer stuff.)
You have to kill an Eidolon and give the resulting spectral essence to a Seer to infuse your armor, and it will only infuse the armor you're wearing (for the entire party) when you do the turn-in. There's an Eidolon and a Seer in Mineral Springs, and one in the next mission.

Oh, then I'd be better off concentrating on getting my armor upgrades first, then infusing. I need to make a lunch money run or two so that I can afford the new armor in DF.
