For those interested, Dark and Light has released an offline demo. It's a big download, so find something to do for a few hours if you decide to download it.

If I had to sum it up, I'd say its a bit like PS meets fantasy. I've been interested in seeing it. Just not paying to play it.

Apparently it is a one-time payment game. $40 and no subscription.
It has some really weird sounding Social XP which factors into what you can and cannot do. Apparently the Brotherhood (guild) leader is responsible for allocating this in some way. I can see massive and magnificent squabbles and fallings-out over that one.
I think I'll give it a miss. The social XP thing looks a real off-put to me. Pity, cause some of the other features look nice.

Avoid like the plague. Worst launch in MMO history (which is saying a lot) and the developers are a bunch of con artists. The games best feature was its terrain development engine, which was created by a former employee and borrows more than a little code from his patented work (to put it generously).
I was somewhat interested in the concept when I read it was near release, but when I looked for details the truth came out quickly. Damn near the closest thing to outright fraud that I've seen in MMO history.
