I'm hoping to see "The Guardian" and "Fearless" ...
Can't wait to add Superman-Returns and Miami Vice to come out on DVD... Most likely for the Holidays, eh?

"The Prestige," "The Fountain," and "Casino Royale."

The Prestige and Fearless are the only two I'm really psyched to see atm.

My only concern about The Prestige is whether they can possibly do justice to the book (which can get somewhat confusing at times).

Casino Royale and The Departed.

Dances with Wolves was one of my faves! I don't remember FoD/BD that well... :(

The Departed looks great. I like the list of actors, but I'm having a really tough time bringing myself to go watch a movie with DiCaprio in it.

I have the same problem with DiCaprio, but it has decreased significantly since Orlando Bloom became the new lead unmanly, barely male actor. At least DiCaprio can do more than act like a wooden plank.

Awwww, I liked Bloom... At least he's more interesting than DiCaprio! :)

I never had a problem with either. I DO roll my eyes when Jess starts mooning over Bloom, but that's as much to annoy her as anything.
The Departed does look good. But my big one is Man of the Year.
As for Costner, I enjoyed Dances with Wolves, Field of Dreams, The Postman and a number of others. In fact, I'm looking forward to The Guardian.

Neither of these sentences goes very far in your continuing effort to prove you're a guy, Chari. Come on now.

Oooookay... Um... I've never watched FoD or BD... :( That makes it worse? And I liked the Postman too... Didn't like Waterworld that much.
How do I get my "Guy" or "Man" card? :D

Yes, the movie version stars Jamie Pressley and several other, uh, actresses. :lowlol: I believe seeing it at the theater could probably qualify you for automatic renewal of your "dude license".

Lordy, I love Jamie Pressley. Whatever you do, do NOT google search images of Jamie Pressley w/ safe search turned off.

Hehe - I did this a few months back after she hosted the VH1 Rock Honors show, as I'd never heard of her before that. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Hey! You're the assassin...
How do you expect me to off the rabbit? Oh wait... Greebo isn't a rabbit... :lowlol:

I have no clue who that person is... Thought it was a guy at first... Um, interesting...
Still not a sports person per se! :D But, um... er... I'll get back to responding more, after doing some more research...

Thanks for the expansion. I had no idea what FoD and BD were. But then I'm not into sports movies in general and American sports movies in particular.
Except the Mean Machine (original version, titled I think "The Longest Yard" in the US)
Or Slap Shot.

Which one? The Original, or the Re-make, of the "Longest Yard"?
Major League was funny... Don't remember the sequel too well.

Ahh, sorry.
I mean I enjoyed the original version. I've never seen the remake and anyway it is about UK sports ... which I am generally not interested in either.

Sadly, the funniest line from Major League was never used in the film, only the promos:
"Ah, don't feel bad kid, that hit would have been out of any park in the country"
"Not any park"
"Oh really, name one it would've stayed in"
"Yosemite"
Okay, so maybe my roomate and I are the only ones who thought that was funny.

Kristin (my ex) actually looks a lot like Jamie Pressley (who I love as well). She also talks a LOT like Jamie Pressley in My Name Is Earl. I don't just mean she sounds like her (which she does) but a lot of the stuff she says could be lifted from the show (which breaks me up).
And as for jess and her love and Orlando Bloom. The young woman hasn't seen me in years and that Orlando Bloom IS dreamy.

re: Jet Li's Fearless
Very good movie! Might look into the soundtrack.
The restaurant looks like it was reused (most likely) from House of Flying Daggers...
It was enjoyable... Need to research the guy... Interesting plot...

While the previews have looked pretty good, I'm concerned that The Prestige will be significantly dumbed down from the book (which was somewhat difficult to figure out at times). I am given hope, however, by the fact that Christopher Nolan directed Memento, which didn't lower itself to spoonfeed the audience (whether you buy the whole plot of it or not).
